Also Robin hasnt finished with her secret crush that we meet in the episode with Barney and his dad at the clubs so it cannot be Robin who barney is marrying

It cant be barney and robin's wedding because in one of the episodes in season 6, he promises to be Robins best man at her wedding and as he is Barney's best man it cant be Robin who he is marrying therefore it must be Quinn

Here is what I can piece together. We know from the trilogy episode Ted has his daughter by 2015 (assuming it is spring when they do the Star Wars trilogy, only time that it would make sense with the way the seasons run and that it started during a college semester) The baby had to be conceived in early 2014 or end of 2013 because it is a few months old. Assuming Ted did not sleep with the mother and get her pregnant first night they have to meet at the end of the 2012-2013 season.
We know they meet at Barney's wedding that has been stated. So the wedding scenes we see are next year. First I don't think Barney can stand an entire year with Quinn stripping. I think it is very plausible we will see Barney ask Quinn to marry him (he is on the verge). But something will happen and we will see Robyn as the bride the end of this season with no explaination. During the next season Don (noticed not called Uncle Don) will come back. That and the engagement will cause all sorts of issues. Ro

Barney will marry Karma, and Ted does not marry Robin because he meets the Mom through the college he works at she is also the roommate of the college student he dated.

Here is what I see happening in this season's finale...
The next few episodes really build up Barney's love for Quinn. And then in the finale, Barney proposes to her! It seems like that would be the end, but we get one more scene.... That scene from last year where Ted is with Barney before his wedding, giving him advice on his tie. Then Ted is called to see the bride. Ted walks into the room and her back is turned to him. Ted says something and she turns around, revealing Robyn! Then it ends right there as a cliffhanger! We then have to wonder all summer and most of next year how that comes to fruition.
I think that something like that would be the best way for them to end on a cliffhanger, and all the while move the story forward towards when ted finally meets his wife.

so, you guys remember the episodes "False Positive" and "Best Man"? In False Positive Robin asks Ted to be the best man at her wedding...the second to last scene. Fast forward to "Best Man", where is Robin at Barney's wedding? Why does Lily tell Ted the bride wants to see him.
The only reason Robin wouldn't be there is if she is really upset - which wouldn't be good for the series, and I'm not sure how they could write themselves into that story line...because we know they are all friends later in life. Also, Robin is tough, she went to Teds wedding to Stella. So I think Barney marries Robin. Ted is a little upset at the wedding, or seems pensive. But if he meets his future wife - we know he will be happy immediately.

Also... I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT SOME PEOPLE STILL THINK ROBIN IS THE MOTHER! She can't have kids, for the love of god!! And Ted says she won't have kids. EVER.
My opinion? The mother is the bass player at Barney's wedding. Honest. How awesome would that be?
About Barney's wedding... Well, no idea. I hope it's not Robin. It would be too boring and predictable, and two "awesomes" cancel each other. It could be Quinn... it would be interesting.

2. Well. The writers know our theories. I've read interviews where they actually joke about some theories. Including this one! Now think of the series and tell me: do you really think that the writers would do something their audience has been expecting for so long just like they expected to? Or will they try to totally blow our mind and make us yell 'WOOO DID NOT SEE THAT COMING'??
What I thing is that Barney's sister is a red herring. Just like the Bump Girl. And if they ever thought of turning her into the mother... they surely changed their mind.
Unless they're freaking trolls and want us to think like I thought. It's a possibility :P

May I say the theory that Ted is marrying Barney's sister is perfect. Really. Everything about it fits perfectly.
And that's why I honestly doubt it'll turn out to be true.
For two reasons, mainly:
1. The show has always had that "you know those things that happen on TV? They don't really happen in real life"quality. The writers love to say that reality isn't clean, predictable and ideal. It's messy. It's... complicated. It's screwed up. Idk, but... Ted marrying his Bro's sister? It's a little bit too Friends for me. Too simple. Like I said: it fits waay to perfectly to be real.

well first of all its deff barney and robin getting married... we all hope!! Just because ted says aunt robin and uncle barney doesnt necessarily mean that they are the ones who got married. do you have kids? well if you do you know that your best friends are always aunt or uncles to your kids. but hopefully your right anyway! i would love to see barney and robin get together and get married. of course not that stripper hes going after now.

Please stop saying that because Ted refers to Barney and Robin as Uncle Barney and Aunt Robin that it means they must get married and Ted must marry Barney's sister. He also refers to Marshall and Lily as Uncle Marshall and Aunt Lily. Watch the whole show instead of just the things you decide must be super secret clues.

he is always saying uncle barney and aunt robin, so yes, its robin and barney getting married. YUP! My husband and I have made every prediction about this show and not ONCE have we been wrong. this show is funny as heck

personally, i do not think that the mother's name is Tracey cause he has messed names up before so he could have just changed a name to throw them off and to mess with them. I think that Robin marries Barney and since there has been rumors of casting for Barneys kids i think that either they adopt, use a surrogate, we find out Robin's test results are wrong, or she experinces one of those things where someone was told they can't get pregnant, but somehow does anyway.

The kids call Robin, Aunt Robin, so she is not the mom. Barney is possibly marrying Robin, but not Nora, because he cheated on her with Robin. I dont thinks its Robin, but i do hope, because no one has mentioned if Barney or Robin knew the mom before ted.
Some people think the mom could be Barney's sister, I think so too, because his ex that was roomies with her was in college and Barney's sister is in college, according to his dad. So that make me think that Barney is marrying Robin, because Barney invited her not the bride.
Yes Barney does get married before Ted, ik this because he meets the mom at his wedding. I also know the moms name is Tracy if you dont believe me please watch the first thanksgiving episode in season 1.

Everyone has some valid imput on this whole thing, i dont beleive that robin is the mom, because they call her aunt robin. Barney might be marrying robin its about 50/50 for, i onlythink that becuz ted supposedly merts the mom at that wedding and they havent mentioned if robin or barney or anybody knew her before he did

The mother is NOT Robin, she can't have children. Its already been a major episode after she has a pregnancy scare with Barney. The doctor confirmed.
But I do want Robin and Barney to get married. They are a hot mess together..

There is too much dishonesty in Nora and Barney's relationship for me to think that they, as a pair, would be a good idea! However, Robin knows the good, bad and ugly...I think they honestly love each other...but it makes me nervous that last time, it didn't end well, too.

Just a thought (because Robin has to be the mom) - the show is titled How I Met Your Mother, not How I Met the Woman Who Became Your Mother. Ted says that he would tell his kids everything, and the series began with Robin. Robin will be the mom; however, Robin is not yet the mother. Ted will not meet the mother until the first child is born.

That maybe true about Barney's sister being in College but Ted also calls Marshal and Lily Aunt and Uncle and there is no relation so it is obviously just a close friend thing not a 'family' thing
