If Gibbs became the Director, he wouldn't be involved in the show (ie: always in our face), the way he is now. I don't think the fans would like that, so I don't see that happening.
EJ needs to die. I hope the P2P pulled that trigger. Nothing against the actress but, really, one female lead is enough. Why do producers feel like they need to keep adding new female characters? It ruins the dynamic...
I think something happens with Vance and Gibbs that changes things, somehow.

Annie - Glad you like DiNozzo. Sorry I don't. He's my least favorite. I can't help, I can hardly stand him. You're right about David McCallum being 78 but I don't think Ducky is quite that old, just like Gibbs isn't as old as Mark Harmon. I would rather Ducky retire than be killed off because then DMcC could guest every so often.
No way should Gibbs be the director and I hope they don't write it that way. As for people to die, I vote for that lawyer to bite it and if it has to be a regular cast member and can't be DiNozzo (don't hit me Annie)then I guess it has to be Vance. I don't want it to be but... I think I read where Abby and Tony had signed multi year deals so they're here to stay. And I really like Jimmy and McGee.
As for the future, if they're still alive and on the show, I think McGee should have to serve on a carrier or something, Ziva too. All field agents should have to. DiNozzo should have his own team by now, maybe out of the Pentagon or Norfolk and McGee isn't too fa

Everyone who thinks Gibbs should or would become the director of NCIS should remember the one week he was supposed to substitute for Jenny Shepard when she went abroad. He could not stand the job. He is not politically savvy enough to do the job. He will not lower his standards far enough to do the necessary pandering which comes with such a political job. Gibbs will never be the director. Get used to that. His character is one who has found his role in the world, and he is smart enough to not step out of it. It will not happen.

ive a feeling something will happen to vance gibbs will become the director but with a hands on aproachworking with the team tony will be team leader dont know who will be senior field agent mgee or ziva ray andEj will be gone hopefully and all will be well with the team

I hope none of the team dies, but i have a feeling if it was a regular, it would be Ducky, Abby, Vance, or Palmer. You gotta remember guys, David McCallum is getting OLD. Near 80. But God I would miss our Dr. Mallard...

I'm mad that Mike got killed off but I agree that he was ill. He brought the box to Gibbs and he wouldn't have done that unless he thought he'd never get another chance. I wish EJ and her whole team would go away. I'm okay with Vance. Some of the conflict between him and Gibbs has been entertaining and it would be nice if the future had them getting along better. I'm not liking DiNozzo but I'm sure he's here to stay. I like Jimmy a lot so I hope they don't do anything to him. Kort is okay and Fornell better be around next season. Maybe it's family members that are in danger. Jackson Gibbs and Sara McGee and DiNozzo Sr and un... Vance's family and I don't know. Or Jordan Hampton or Cassie what's her name or the JAG lady. I don't want anything to happen to any of them. Nope, it's EJ and all those new people that have got to go. Not a single one adds to the show as far I'm concerned.

I think it all has to do with EJ and Vance he be the one to die and next season everyone will have new director to get used too.
I really doubt Gibbs Tony McGee Abby Ducky Palmer Ziva will die maybe be hurt but not die.

Gibbs; has anyone estimated how many Marines he recruited?
Not sure we appreciate the Bully? Got mine and helped drum many of them out of the service. Too much look the other way on dress codes.
How about getting rid of the directors in favor of someone like Gibbs. Loosing Franks better have someone to replace the Phonies. Cut off the foot in spite of the face?

Well, we've already had a significant loss with the death of Mike Franks. I predict that Ducky will discover that Franks was terminally ill, anyway - he did look like death warmed over during the scenes where he was still alive. Gibbs had to have known about it, too, or at least strongly suspected, especially since he didn't say anything. I also see the death of one or more of E.J.'s team. (Why didn't they make a strategic withdrawal from the building once they learned it was a trap designed for them?!) Trent Kort is too slippery to pin down. C.I.Ray, maybe he could go down doing something heroically noble and self-sacrificing and make Ziva all sad and lonely again. (None of these people have any luck in love, after all.) The only character who *cannot possibly* die is Gibbs, as he is, quite frankly, the heart and backbone of this show.
