NCIS Season Finale Preview: What Next?!

at . Comments

After what many feel was one of the most intense, thought-provoking and dark episodes in NCIS history, it's hard to believe there's still one more left this season.

How will TV's #1 drama follow up Mike Franks' "Swan Song"?

The May 17 season finale will bring the team face-to-face with the Port-to-Port Killer at last, with significant and lasting consequences for the NCIS team.

Executive producer Gary Glasberg offered some hints at what's to come Tuesday, as well as how the controversial P2P arc came about. Excerpts below ...

On the episode's title, “Pyramid”: "It’s a reference to where the weight and the power fall. It speaks to how decisions are made, where decisions are made, and where the threat is felt."

"It gets directly spoken to in the finale, so it will be explained."

On the finale's surprises: "Throughout the finale there are a number of “a-ha” moments. It’s very multi-layered and not only wraps up the Port-to-Port story but also a lot of other loose ends that have come up. People will hopefully be excited by it."

On the list of guest stars: "We have a lot of people coming back - Franks, Kort, Ray Cruz (Enrique Murciano). We’re putting together a really strong team of people to go after this Port-to-Port Killer, and it manifests itself in some interesting ways."

On Kerr Smith's performance as Navy Lt. Jonas Cobb: "The whole group has had a fantastic time working with him. Honestly, the emotional resonance of his performance has been wonderful, so I’m really excited to see how people react to it."

On the re-use of references and characters from years past: "That’s the [series creator Don] Bellisario Way! It’s been fascinating for me to learn that, and it presents tremendous freedom to call back to characters, things, lines of dialogue that have come up, and then build entire storylines around ancillary moments."

On crafting the serial killer arc: "In looking at the finale we had last season, and other finales the show has done, we really just wanted to present an adversary that was formidable, one we could really dig into - and yet do it in an NCIS manner."

"The challenge was doing it in a way that was commensurate with this show, and it turned out to be a lot of fun.

On the final body count: "I won’t give numbers, but there is a significant loss that happens for the team – and there is probably more than one. What happened in this week’s episode and the finale will absolutely rock the world of NCIS."

"There is tremendous emotional resonance that happens from the losses they experience, and that resonance will be felt well into next season. I have no doubt."

wans't the new Ziva suppose to appear in the finale the one who kick the old Ziva ass

As Ducky said "Those who created him must now pay" why is NCIS paying... seems like the CIA & their crew should be paying

Interesting Spoiler....

Im not saying it has nothing to do with Vance im saying it has nothing to do with the P2P who we should Pray has nothing to do with EJ who has save Tony from Ziva

I agree that EJ and her team needs to go...dont care for them they do nothing for the show or me...Something is going to happen between Gibbs and Vance..I think Fornell should be the new Director if Vance dies...that would be awesome. Im thinking Trent Kourt may have to die also because if he dosent tell Tony where Ziva is and something happens to her Tony is going to Freak...we all know he hates Kort anyway and we all know he loves Ziva...him and EJ do not make a good pair neither does CIRay and Ziva...i still think Ray and EJ are somehow involved wtiht the P2P killer. Cant wait for tomorrow...

Ziva didn't help with p2p killer training. its all Kort and his partners they didn't plan the guy going crazy on everyone. besides Ziva works for NCIS no shes loyal to the team.
If anyone helped Train the p2p killer probely EJ. how do you know what in decker file how do you know it wasn't about Vance when Jenny died he got the fast so no one really knows what was in the file besides Jenny and Franks and they both died Franks had something on Vance and he gave Gibbs Deckers file I think it has to do with Vance I can be wrong it may have nothing to do with Vance.

Decker's files are about Gibbs and Jenna not Vance or the CIA I also heard Ziva might of help train the P2P killer

First Jenna and Janet - both of you are so right with your comments. Barrett has brought Tony down, but she is on her way out and Tony is trying his best to work thru all this 'mess' that is her and was created by her - Tony is still my favourite. Aura Z I like all your comments. I have a feeling that somehow Barrett is certainly involved - maybe related to SecNav and that is how she got her job. She will be gone ! Vance is going nowhere and as someone here said, don't get rid of the regulars. They won't - that is why they have this whole gang of Agents that they can use up at end of season. SecNav is involved. Don't forget CIRay is CIA so he could be involved with P2P. He isn't staying either as he has another series to be in. So, here is how I see it....dumbass useless 80 lb agent Barrett is lying there with gun to her throat - I don't want her leaving in a body bag, but really really want her gone - her clown team having dropped behind her like flies - who knows if they are alive or not?? She doesn't care !But I think they will rise up and save her..mores the pity. Poor Mike Franks is dead, but appearing to Gibbs helping him solve the case. Gibbs is just holding it together by working thru the case with Mike - and has Mike's funeral coming up. Ziva has fallen apart and looks like she has been taken captive now by the P2P killer - that obviously got away from stupid agent Barrett. McGee and Abby are just holding on to each other as best they can. Tony is trying to tend to all the others - giving Gibbs a sweatshirt to wear, comforting Ziva -by the way - best scene of the episode-and McGee and Abby. Ducky and Jimmy are doing their thing. Vance - well Vance is doing what Vance does best - yelling and huffing and puffing. But I like him. Jesse Stern wrote his last script so this was his Swan Song as well- sorry to say. And now the final episode - which I can not wait to see - being written by Gary Glassberg (hangs head in shock and disappointment) so anything out of the blue can happen !!!! It is going to be soooooo good I think - much better than the Renossa Drug Bust finale - My final thought - CIRay is after Tony and wants to get rid of him and I think that Ziva is not really captured, but is a decoy to draw out the real killer - him - She will be surprised it is Ray - but then - she will kill him to save Tony !!! That is how I'd write it ......but who knows....can't wait for Tuesday night 8 pm awhhhhhhhh????

I think in "Pyramid" will see the following:
1 - SecNav Phillip Davenport was the one who pressured Vance to put Barrett in charge of the Port-to-Port Killer case.
2 - SecNav Davenport knew about the project Frankestein and worked with the CIA to carry out. When Cobb became a serial murderer wanted to quiet the matter by putting Barrett in the case. He knew that Gibbs would not stay silent on this issue, especially when it affected a naval officer.
3 - Gibbs learns more dirty things about SecNav in Decker's files. Issues that involves Director Vance.
4 - Gibbs forcing Davenport to resign (or will send the files to the Congress). So there will be a new Secretary of the Navy (Clayton Jarvis). That is why Gary Glasberg says PIRAMYD "it's a reference to where the weight and the power fall".
It's just my prediction for the next episode.

só tenho uma coisa a dizer:a agente KATE é uma delicia muito gostosa, principalmente naquele episódio em que ela está de langerie vermelha,a como eu bati punheta aquele dia!!!

NCIS Quotes

Tony: One other question, I know you're an expert in English history. And I was just wondering, have you ever heard of Archibald Drummond, the 17th Earl of Trent?
Ducky: The Earl of Trent. No, I can't say I have. Why?
Tony: I was just wondering. Thanks.

McGee: All right. Well you should probably know that Abby and I used to date?
Bishop: Ew. Like, each other?
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: Wait - isn't that a violation of rule 12, never date a....
McGee: It was a long time ago. After we'd broken up, one night I went to her lab. Found a scribbled piece paper; a list. Potential boyfriends had to fulfill certain conditions by a pre-arranged date or else, goodbye.
Bishop: Such as.
McGee: Things started off relatively normal: opening the door for her, flowers, putting the seat down. Then around number 8, it gets uh...
Bishop: What?
McGee: Does she know you have these?
Bishop: Does she know you have these?
McGee: Yeah she wasn't happy when she found out.
Bishop: These are all very specific.
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: These ideas apply to you?
McGee: No those rules weren't in place when we were together. At least I don't think so.
Bishop: What's with the two month cutoff? Abby's sabotaging herself. I've seen stuff like this before. We have to talk to her.
