Ted Danson on CSI: First Look!

Earlier today, we met Walden Schmidt.

Now, let's all say hello to D.B. Russell, the character to be played by Ted Danson on CSI this fall.

“He’s kind of like Phil Jackson coming in to handle a group of people who are on a slippery slope,” Danson told the press at this afternoon's Television Critics Association’s summer tour. “He’s brought in to make the team work as good as possible. He’s trying to hold a crazy group of people [together].”

Overall, look for a lighter character and a lighter season ahead on CSI. To that end, watch Danson in action in the following clip, as Russell tries to get a witness to open up:

I don't like Ted Danson's character. He needs to leave right now! I'm glad Grissom will be back for Catherine's departure. We saw him last season, we'll see him again, this time, hopefully have him walk into the crime lab again. It's been a long time. The show is not good with Ted Danson and without William Petersen or Laurence Fishburne. Very stupid to have Ted Danson as a regular, not a special guest star. Dreadfully bad. WRITE HIM OUT!!!

Uncle jackass

Nick Stokes: Open bottle of Vodka, a used glass. What do you think; one last drink?
Greg Sanders: One last laugh.

Dr. Robbins: A racist gets stabbed before he can drown. Some would call that justice.
Ray Langston: We still have to call it murder.
