Rookie Blue Review: Sandy Alert!

by at . Comments

What's that sound? Oh yes, I believe it's all Sandy fans around the world cheering. Rookie Blue sent my little shipper heart beating wildly, as the show finally went there.

Bucking the trend of most prime time programs that insist on keeping their leads apart for as long as possible, "A Little Faith" gave fans what they craved and, damn, I couldn't be happier.

But let's get some other story points out of the way first.

Did anyone else think that Chris was being a little too hard on Gail? Yes, she got close to his best friend, but Dov was the one professing his love, not Gail. Chris' Goldilocks bed hopping comment was over the top. I've never believed that Chris and Gail would survive long term, but Chris dumping her over this seemed a bit harsh and unfair.

Then, it was game on as Andy, Traci and Dov were sent out on an undercover training field trip. No phone, no money, no ID. Who could make it back the next morning with the most cash and drugs?

I figured Dov could win this one and he didn't disappoint. As Shaw said, deep down Dov was so insecure I knew he'd go above and beyond to win. I never thought he'd use his late brother's drug history to steal from his dealer, but I give him extra points for being both creative and ruthless.

Traci and Andy were so entertaining as they came up with their undercover personas. Only McNally would decide to be an insurance overwriter. The girl picked one of the most boring jobs on earth and couldn't even get the term right.

Traci completely sold her pool shark/stripper act but her and Andy's girl-on-girl kissing needed some work. Then again, as lame as it looked, it still seemed to distract the guys - so mission accomplished.

As disappointed as I was in Andy when she told the dealer they had to call an ambulance (what dealer wants an ambulance at his place?), I loved how badass Traci was when she made up the story about the girl's biker boyfriend. Looks like undercover work might end up in Traci's future. That girl can think on her feet.

I was happy just to see the look on Sam's face when he saw Andy. Then when Andy went back and propositioned him and he sent her away, I thought we'd be playing the almost but not quite there yet game again.

Thankfully, I couldn't have been more wrong. Not only was the love scene incredibly hot, the aftermath was funny and sexy and everything I expected from Sandy.

Sam even shared that his chosen undercover persona was Ernie the zamboni driver. Oh my God, I couldn't stop laughing. I think that one only works in Canada. Sam and Andy went from hot and sexy to cute and funny, and right back to hot and sexy again. Sigh. All I can say is that I want more. A lot more.

Of course, with Sam undercover, that gives the show a plausible reason to keep them apart for a while longer and ramp up the danger and the angst. But tonight's love scene will sustain me for a while - and can you imagine how great their reunion will be?

Did it all live up to your expectations for everyone else:

Don't forget that ABC will air the last two episodes of the season back to back next week. You won't want to miss it.

Never have commented before, but those scenes with Sam and Andy were AWESOME!!! Finally, the writers have given us what we've been waiting for--a scene worthy of watching again and again. The chemistry between these characters and the rest of the team make this my FAVORITE show. I'm so sorry there's only 2 more episodes. It will be a long winter. Many of us will be having sweet dreams of McSammy and hoping next season brings more of the same excitement. Many thanks. I wish a few more shows would take the hint and put couples together.

i am planning to watch last night's episode again in a few minutes on dvr, for the 3rd time! sam and andy are the hottest couple ever, they are officially my all time favorite tv couple.

That show last night was so hot!!! They had better keep these two together, otherwise, I may have to stop watching it. The chemistry between those two actors was incredible. Keep up the good work guys!! you have peeked my interests.

Absolutely great!!!!!! I have been waiting for the hook-up with Sam and Andy, ever since the show has been on, they have great chemistry together, I hated to see the show end last night, really hot, hope they continue on together. Wish this show would be on all season, instead of being a summer replacement. Hey, all of us Rookie Blue fans out there need to write to ABC and tell them we want this show to be on a regular show schedule.

I've never written into anything like this but after watching my favorite show, Rookie Blue last night, I couldn't resist. The chemistry between Andy and Sam is unbelievable and I can only hope there will be lots more. I too hate it when there is so much sexual tension and obvious attraction and the writers keep the actors apart. We got exactly what we've been hoping for and I've watched that scene at least 10 times today!!!!! I hope this wasn't a teaser and there will be an interesting relationship in season 3 between Andy and Sam for all of us diehards to look forward to.

So, that was amazing. A-ma-zing. Perfect for those two. It kills me because I know it's a short lived thing, but hopefully Sam and Andy are endgame and somewhere along the line in Season 3 we see them become a legitimate, on-the-job-no-stupid-reasons-to-not-be-together ( TO, UC, etc.) couple. Since the seasons are only 13 or so episodes a season, it's realistic to think that they could really explore that relationship both personally and professionally and keep it interesting and fresh.
I need Sandy to stick around. Sandy is the best thing on TV right now.

I can't believe that after 24 episodes sandy happened and now season finale is coming and waiting a YEAR for RB to come back , this is not fair

I hardly ever comment on these things but I read this one & just HAD to say...OH ... MY ... GAWDDDDDDDDDD!!!! I've been waiting for this & needless to say when they kept going with Andy & Luke story line I was like..."ENOUGH ALREADY!" I knew there was that tension since the lights went out last season for Sam & Andy and THANK GAWD they did this episode so sexy!!! It was AWESOME!!! I was a little surprised because the love scene was actually a little more risque than the regular networks liked but I certainly liked it! YEP! I was definitely jealous of that little girl letting that beautiful man have his way with her but only because I wished it was me & I was still young enough to be that sexy again! LOL

Rookie Blue Season 2 Episode 11 Quotes

Chris: He's a priest. He can't be lying.
Andy: Pfff. Priests lie. Ever see that wafer that they call bread?

Well the minute I decided to tell Sam about my feelings he's gone, like magic Like really mean magic.
