Be assured, we're definitely watching the same show :-P
I never hated Vanessa for one. I think she was one character who had great potential but was misused by the writers.
You might view things differently. From your words, it seems you don't hold Dan high in your esteem and that's just fine. I don't think Chuck is a better man than he is, at least not for a relationship.
I feel like Dan has changed somehow, one of the thing being that he supports Blair despite his feelings for her and advises her on what to do. May be you would say he is playing the hero (again), but to me he is being caring.
I never thought Serena was good with him. He might have effed up with her but she also shares a role in that. Also, her not being able to decide between him and Nate or the fact that she is sort of looking to Dan as a safety wheel doesn't very much appeal to me. She knows of his tendency to "act a hero" and depends on it at times. Perhaps she has changed now but I think she and Na
I love how the story of DAIR is still building. Dan is the outsider who has become somewhat of an insider. Blair admitted his influence when she said that she knew that he was the only one who would protect her from her own worst instincts. Throughout the show - Dan and Blair have had this sort of we are opposites and thus we can't be friends or more attitude, but that attitude declines every episode.
Dan has been their for Blair every time she needed him, and he has made sure that she succeeds at what she us doing. He wrote a novel where she was his muse. Every time that Blair really needs someone, she runs to Dan. She doesn't just show up in Brooklyn behind the door to his loft, but she sits on his couch and rests her head on his shoulder. She loves him. Remember that line..."the kiss changed me." I am still not buying that she felt feelings for Chuck when she kissed him. I wholeheartedly believe that Dan and Blair have the true romantic story on this show.
I was o
Maybe stop with all the hating, it's exhausting.
In sex and the city Miranda had a kid in her 30's. She had finished her studies long ago and was full swing into her career.
This baby that people 'wish death upon' is a fictional non being, so technically it should be allowed.
And why is being a serial monogamist a bad thing...?
Also, he didn't snap at serena in the elevator scene for 'using her brain', he was upset that no one would come to let him out the elevator because he, unlike serena, is not rich and famous. It was a very good point. Serena was clearly using her status- not her brain.
I also cited Dair fans if you read my post. I did emphasis on Chair because it is the major fanbase, even before the Dair storyline. But the attitude is valid for both and extendable for all fandoms actually.
And I think I try to explain that I didn't target ALL Chair fan.
I myself do not really do "couples", I think I enjoy all scene with Blair, so I am happy either way. As for the baby storyline, even if I can't really imagine Blair with a baby, I hope we won't have to suffer another "accident/miscarriage" cliché and I would rather like to see her struggle with maternity (even if this can also be a cliché^^).
Let us not suck the humor out of comments section now.
@b's comment was rude but funny nevertheless!
These are fictional characters, we should be able to poke fun at them if we please...
We don't want things getting dull around here ;)
To "B's" defense, I think he/she refereed to "spanking the monkey", Chuck did patted with the monkey after all :) a bit rich? Yes, but it gets pretty funny when you think about it
I LOVED THIS EP!! GG hasn't had as good of an episode as this for a while. An finally got a chair scene:-). Ed and leighton were amazing as usual. Chuck and monkey had me in tears:-( @b wtf is wrong with u seriously you may not like chuck or chair but no need to be rude about an emotional scene. Anyways I hope blair is lying an the baby is chucks. next wks ep looks so much fun can't wait.:-) CHAIR
everything that was not chuck or blair related was just dull. charlie is boring, she's making serena boring, and i want her to leave. nate and diana were almost as dull, though i love that nate protected his friends
@ b: that is disgusting, please show some respect for the viewers who do appreciate an emotional scene.
I'm going to sort of repeat a tweet sent by GG writers over a month ago when the warned that no amount of tweets favoring Chair, Dair, Derena or Chivy (?!) were going to change the direction of the season, because they were far into it. So I don't think they look like kidnapped by the fandom or the shippers.
Chuck was crying in this episode??
And here I thought it was him masturbating
I'm so fed up with Chair thing i think it's too unreal ... though i think Louis is boring i really loved this scene when Blair told him about pregnancy he was so sweet.in real life he will be really great but in the show he isn't interested to watch but i don't think that it would be fair if Blair will hurt him, maybe he has to do smth terrible and the writers will make us hate him so i won't have the feeling of unfairness . I'm now team Dair i always hated Dan and when i first heard the rumor about Dair thing i was really angry with the writers as i was Chair fan but i think chair relationship is unhealthy . i hope everything will be fair!
also @ Superdole
you definitely being a hypocrite as I definitely see a whole bunch of Dair fans do the same exact thing. I am okay for happy debate but we Chairs fans are not the one going around stating a baby should die.
I am one of those Chair fans even of turns out Blair wasn't lying I hope she keeps the baby as I do think it is smart move to bring a baby on GG, as it something no one expects is right for Blair and if anyone ever saw Sex and the City, does that see like a Baby friendly show with the exception of Charlotte who wanted the marriage and kids but they gave Miranda who hates kids a baby before her.
any way next week looks to be fun and Chuck is only one enjoying himself.
Umm maybe we are watching a different show but nothing shows me Dan has change and evidence of his usual hypocritical Vanessa like ways are still very present and for this find it strange how some Dair fans enjoy this pairing yet hated Vanessa when ever she was up in someone's business. Dan is Exactly like Vanessa except got more witty lines. I disagree that Serena misused him while they were together, I think it was the other way around he gets upset and high and mighty over stupid things he snapped at Serena for using her brain for once when they got trapped in the elevator and told him he should have mention she was with him cause commen sense wise her effing step dad at the time owned the building. But somehow that escape Dan and behaved like a jerk cause he has a hero complex and when he can't be the hero he becomes a dick. This is also a person who don't own their shit and like his sisters blames others for acting out.
I do like Dan but Dan is not this great guy pe
I'm not in love with the show like I have been at some point point but I still like it BUT all the CHAIR fans are progressively getting on my nerves! Some people may say don't read comment then but I do love reading reviews and people opinion, but the reaction of Chair fans (even some Dair fans at some point) is upsetting me a little bit more every weeks.
I did love Blair and Chuck story and connection, I actually kind of bored with it but still like it, I love Blair and Dan friendship (and I don't think Dan being "in love" with her as a bad thing. I mean, even if he is, she doesn't have to be too and it is still interesting to watch) anyway, I find their relationship, whatever it is, to be one hightlight of the show right now.
And I definitively like the Dan and Chuck scenes! I think Dan's character gains a lot to interact with him (and Blair). You can't say Humphrey is a bad friend.
What I did not support from comments is the animosity of some fans, of what I almost consider
i thought i was watching ppl for a second when i saw the note from A with dan's book
Wow, so everyone pretty much shares my thought. Blair is the central, pivotal character on this show, and the reason I keep watching, I said this before but she is the only character who has grown and is continually growing. Every one in the Waldorf family are interesting, amusing especially Dorota. Ok so I will give that praise to Chuck too, when he began crying, I'm sorry I felt like maybe the Rapture is imminent.
About the paternity test like most of the comments I too have two theories:-
1. Maybe it is chucks because of the way she placed the dna test in the draw but then when he commented on the dog being neuterd I kind of thought he was refering to himself. So him being the father is impossible, and those sheared tears was realising the loss, of his love Blair to another
2. Maybe she hid the parternity test to keep Louie from finding about her infidelity. Blair does sneeky, lying so well.
Personally, I was glad when she said that Louie was the father, I like loui
I don't want to be called out as a 'troll' or anything but even if it were Chuck or Louis, what makes you people think that Chair or Blouis are endgame because of the baby. There is such a thing as being an adoptive father so Dair or Chair could equally be endgame. I support both so... whatever :)
best episode for a while!Ingenius idea getting chuck a dog, soo cuutee to see he bonds with the dog at the end, love the scene between chuck and blair its nice to see that those two do still have strong feelings for each other. Now im hoping that Louis goes back to france and blair and chuck will be together.
Also love the relationship between dan and blair those two seemed to have developed a really strong friendship.
i cant belive that it wasnt chucks baby, but did you see the way blair snuck it in the draw at the end i think shes hiding something and when that dog came running in her face dropped :
Just one thing- I'm SO SO sick of Chair. I Don't buy into it anymore.
Oh yeah and the Blair and Dan scenes were sweet. I love them as friends (personal preference). They are funny, and sweet. Kind of reminds me of siblings (that's just me though). Reminds me of my best guy friend and me, the way they squabble yet are there for each other.
Chuck is sooo the daddy. Even though I don't want a baby I just really have a feeling it's him. Awwww how sad was the scene with him lying on the bed crying :(, even though he does make some odd faces lol. That dog is adorable though, I'm so glad he kept it!!! : ). I hope it sticks around for the whole show, however much there is left... Can't wait to see everyone's reaction to Dan's publishing. And I too enjoy the Duck scenes, I think they should have more, they play off each other well.
Leighton Meester has been carrying this sinking ship since season 1!
99% of viewer wouldn't even tune in without her.
LMAO. There is no way Dan can be the father. Dan knows about Blair's pregnancy, if he had a chance of being the father we should already know. You can't get pregnant with a kiss people.
And it's just amazing how CB makes the show. One scene and you just feel it they belong together
