I loved this episode...been waiting for a McGee episode for a long long time. It did not disappoint. I think Sean Murray is an excellent actor, I almost cried during the scene in interogation. I think Sean shined in every scene. I hope the powers that be wise up and see what a star they have in Sean. Great episode...can't say enough!

Was disappointed in this episode -- because of Lily Tomlin. She can act, can't she? Maybe it was the script. I never saw her as Tim's grandmother or as someone involved in the case, I just saw Lily Tomlin.

  5. Marguerite

Like everyone else, I was shocked by Tim's voice. I no longer believe it is a matter of his running and changing his eating habits. If indeed, he is not ill, then the writers need to explain it somehow in the show. Viewers are worried.

Loved the show--especially with Lily Tomlin as guest! But I admire each and every one of the actors because they are all a lot more complex (and amusing) than characters in other serial shows. Characters are welcome--I like it!

Lily Tomlin as an old radical hippy! A military X-File as the secret of the case!! Grandma says Gibbs can't break her!!! Booth calling from a park bench in metro DC that could not actually be in metro DC, because it was 100% California scenery - LOL! And oh, our Timmy with an overbearing dad and in her own way, an overbearing grandma, but she loves him and says dad loves him too. So sweet and powerful.

When Gibbs called home it was all about the "love", Tim's dad may be younger that Gibbs' dad, but it will be love too.

And I LOVED this episode - GO NCIS!

Loved this episode. The characters make this show and McGee is a vital part of the cast. I too am glad he was featured and Lily was excellent as grandma, oh dear, as Penny. Casting has done such an excellent job choosing the actors to play family members.
I look forward to Tuesday night just to see this show because it provides quality storylines and best of all a regular cast I respect for their dedication to excellence.

cast was full of people who protested the viet nam war together. The shooter is, in real life, a man who stood up against US misdeeds in Chile in the 1970's and continued to protest the cover up for many years. See the movie Missing to get the inside references (the one with jack lemmon). As a grandma who lived all this and marched with some of the actors back in the day, it is the first time on tv i see my kinda grandma right there on the box. Great writing!

I love everything about NCIS. Gibbs just turned 60, and he is a very masculine, sexy man. Ducky is 78, and still going strong. I'm enjoying watching Tony "grow up", as he has been annoyingly juvenile sometimes, although that is part of his charm. Weatherly is perfect for the part, and a very good-looking man. I agree that Sean/Tim needed to lose some weight, but has gone too far the other way in a very short time. He looks very thin, and either had a cold or something else going on, as his voice sounded kind of raspy and weak compared to other episodes. I like the evolvement of his character and the strength he showed last night. I think I saw it spelled "Anax" on one of the documents or computer pages they showed, describing the project. And yes, Lily Tomlin was great. I hope this is not the last season, as Mark Harmon also has another project going for USA network. The individual characters within this amazing ensemble cast are what make NCIS such a success, and the foundation for it

i see NOTHING wrong with tony having a guilty thing....it's hard for a cop to think and deal with the fact they might have shot another agent/cop...it shows tony as being HUMAN.....and i DON'T WANT ANY KIND OF TIVA romance....she doesn't respect him as an AGENT or a MAN....and i haven't forgiven her for how she treated tony after that rifkin thing.

    2) last night's eppy just showed that tim had ALOT of gutts teasing tony over his bad relationship with his father DiNozzo, Sr.....it shows that tim didn't have the perfect childhood either....i do agree....i HOPE they bring his grnadmother back....but, ducky is getting an ANGEL for a girlfriend.

I loved this episode -- but then, I've always been a fan of Lily Tomlin's. Didn't I hear Ducky bemoaning the fact that it's a long time since he had a romance? I'm not surprised that he and Penny hit it off.

As for McGee's voice, if it was my grandmother, I'd have trouble talking too.

i love the episode. Gibbs is always so good. the way he looks for me is everything. Tim needs to start eating. Tony and Ziva are great. i would like Tim's grandmother back with Docky in a date. But for me everything is Gibbs, without him nothing. looking forward for next tuesday !!!!!!

Loved the episode and really like the show. In fact I like the show so much I am pleasantly surprised by the fact they haven't cancelled it! (It seems that when I really like a show they cancel it!) Tomlin did a great job and I do hope we see Tim's granny again. More importantly maybe we will meet Tim's parents. We have seen Tony's and Ziva's Dad, we have met Gibb's old man and Ducky's Mom (Abby's folk I believe are dead) so it would be nice to meet Tim's folks.

I agree that Sean Murray is looking too thin these days, he seems to have lost a lot of energy. And what was wrong with his voice last night? He sounded like he needed to clear his throat the whole episode. I'm also wondering when Brian Dietzen will be included in the opening credits? He's in all the group promo shots, he deserves to be added to the credits too.

The story line was great as always. The show has now more options, Bring back penny and add McGee's father in the picture like they did for DiNozzo's. Still angry over taking out Mike franks. Had they kept Mike Frank's in the show, the show would of had a full house ( card game !! ) What a pitty!!!!

  17. Dianne

I throughly enjoyed the episode last night. However, I still worry about McGee's appearance and as one poster said, even his voice was weak last night. Is the guy sick? I haven't heard that, but he doesn't look healthy at all. Thanks

I love NCIS....I love the fact that they are giving "Ducky" a romantic interest...I agree with comment that Sean Murray needs to EAT and soon..even his voice sounded weak last night. PLEASE get him to eat a MRs Fields'cookie of his choice.

and before you jump on me.. I adore this show more than any other on television.. so relax.. To be critical of a story line or an 'arc' is not being unfaithful.. it's being honest. You can't love every thing every time.. then you are not a 'fan' you are naive.

and while we know Sean is on some funky vegan trip.. he needs to eat a cookie immediately.. in fact eat a dozen .. too skinny and too weak.. however seeing "Tim" expand his character this week.. brilliant.

this was without a doubt one of the finest NCIS episodes, just wonderful. However.. and I am going to say it again..get Tony off the 'self flagellation ' ..and I hate to disagree with you, but if Palmer is not 'laugh out loud funny' with his inanity , in fact, I am finding him annoying as the time grows.

Noticed alot this season so far in so much as our Gibbs is concerned..He is taking a step back allowing this 'kids' his 'team' to get 'there' on their own.. not as much pulling them along. He also is taking great joy in watching them reach the conclusions they must and great pride as well.. The writers are in a way setting us up for the final removal of those training wheels for this series.. and they are doing a very good job in laying it out for a well rounded conclusion. No. Not this season, but I sense soon. The character arcs are shaping and coming to fruition.. finding out there backgrounds in such details and helping them over that final hurdle.. It was Weatherly himself tha

great show hope lilly comes back she's great--------------------------I LOVE NCIS--------------------- NCIS LA-----------------------------

The case bored me, but loved Lily Tomlin and McGee getting a chance to step into the spotlight. Love how the team continues to be supportive and snark-free. Tony is starting to get his funny back, but still acting mature. And it amazes me how all the gibbletts have father-issues, and look to Gibbs for guidance as opposed to their own parents. Also interesting that Tony and Tim seem to have more and more in common. I'm loving their friendship these days.
I was sad and surprised that Abby didn't have any scenes with Penny, or that she wasn't more curious, as she's been in the past with Tony and Ziva's fathers. I mean, this is Timmy's grandma! And loved Ducky escorting Penny out at the end. Too bad we know that he will have a love interest in Cheryl Ladd in an upcoming ep, as I love the Penny/Ducky pairing. Maybe Ducky is taking a page out of Tony's playbook, and playing the field these days. Go Ducky!

These was different then with Mcgee Sister ted w Mcgee sister came to Mcgee saying she kill someone mcgee Grandma was working at the place where the dude was kill.

and by my Ziva comment I meant that she felt out of place as in not getting a hold of one of her contacts it just felt like she was there to read that one line

This was a good episode--Lily Tomlin is always a treasure. But I did not see the great episode/story that others are writing about. We've seen McGee dealing with his sister--Gibbs should have taken him off the case immediately, sent him to Hawaii or something, and put Ziva on this one! It would have been even better to have McGee worrying about Penny without being with her--and questioning Ziva.
Did love Ducky and Penny! What a pair they would make!
