Glee Considers Another Major Guest Star
With Ricky Martin all but officially on board, Glee is now close to signing another major artist for another significant guest-starring role.
According to EW, Gloria Estefan is in talks to appear on an upcoming episode in the role of... Santana's mother!
On this week's episode of Glee, viewers watched as Santana revealed her sexuality to her grandmother, only to be heart-broken by her close relative's negative reaction.
Earlier in the hour, she simply told her friends that her parents were totally fine with it, but their on-screen absence was unusual and noticeable. Might that have been due to the show needing to wait until Estefan was free to shoot?
If all goes according to plan, the veteran artist will appear on the same January episode that also features Martin as a Spanish teacher.

Personally, I would love to see Sara Ramirez, Callie from Grey's Anatomy, play Santana's mother. I absolutely love her as an actress and she has an incredible singing voice. She would have been my absolute first choice!

I'm not sure why they need Ricky Martin, but casting Gloria Estefan as Santana's mother makes sense as far as character development.
