The Big Bang Theory Review: Get Your Women In Line!

at . Comments

Tonight's episode of The Big Bang Theory, "The Isolation Permutation," was bipolar - from hilarious to groan-worthy. I had high hopes when I heard it would be about Bernadette and Howard's wedding, but that's because I didn't expect it to be about Amy and her insecurities.

Amy in Action

Let's start with the groan-worthy. If I have one continuous complaint in my reviews it is about Amy. In small doses, I have grown to appreciate this young woman and her role with both the girls and with Sheldon. Tonight, there was just too much Amy... the annoying Amy. In particular, I didn't laugh at all during the scenes at her lab. I found her to be whiny and irritating. Plus, the brain didn't help the situation at all.

This show is supposed to be a comedy. Make me laugh, Amy, like I did when you were playing the harp and singing, "Everybody Hurts." Or, when you slowly moved over to Sheldon, leaned on him, and then popped your legs up onto the couch. I wish the writers would focus more on the fun and quirky Amy and less on the annoying Amy.

Now to the hilarious: Sheldon. I don't think we have ever seen him get so worked up and angry about anything before. The way he stormed into the lunchroom and verbally assaulted Leonard and Howard was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on the show.

Get your women in line!

I'm not sure where the relationship between Sheldon and Amy is headed (except to know it's not in the direction of the bedroom), but he showed that he's protective of her. Well, he is to the extent that he stayed with her even though it interfered with his elaborate evening plans. That means a lot from the stuck-in-his-ways Sheldon.

While Sheldon's relationship advanced this week (whether he realizes it or not), we found out that Leonard is single again. I'd love to see Alice from last week return or for Leonard and Penny to give it another try. However, I'm pretty sure that neither will happen anytime soon.

Was I too harsh on Amy? Are you glad that Leonard and Priya are no more? Check out this week's quotes, which includes Sheldon's hilarious rant to Howard and Leonard!

easily one of the best episode for me for the whole series. go Shamy! But I do hate annoying Amy too.

I liked Sheldon in this episode a lot. Especially when he stormed in cafeteria. I dare say, angry Sheldon is damn sexy :D :D. Also, that scene should have calm down those, who woried about him getting normal heterosexual guy - it clearly will not happen soon :D.
What I didn't like, was a look of "brains". It looked more like some failed pancake made by sucking cook, than brains.
Talking about Amy, she's annoying when she's with girls, but totally enjoyable with guys, both Sheldon and Leonard, and I bet it would be fun to see her interacting with Howard and Raj :).

I found the scene in Amy's lab while she was disecting the brain to be tactless. Amy was happy to find a Glioblastoma and had an in-appropriate comment about how happy she was to see it, but she's sure that the owner of the brain was not so happy. Well, a glioblastoma is a death sentence and including that in the show was just tactless and not funny. Kind of ruined my opinion of the show

Uncle jackass

Amy is just a benign tumor, I'm the cancerous type.

I was saying AWWHHHH the entire time they were trying to cuddle. It just made me smile. Then when Sheldon said, "be glad you don't have a girl friend, they are a lot of work.." AWH I will say I do miss the core 5 all together without the add on of Bern and Amy..Penny seems to be getting lost in shuffle of new characters.

I like Amy :) but I'm totally in love with Bernadette.. she's so cute and hot!!

pretty sure she was on screen for 18/20 minutes of the episode. the only character that could pull that off is Sheldon. I think with Amy's growing fondness of intamacy, she seems dumber than Sheldon. In fact at the moment, she seems to have a similar intelligence to leonard rather than Sheldon, whilst still staying as annoying (and not as funny) as sheldon.

Yeah, that Friends show never went anyplace, did it. 10 years and several Emmy awards, those were like Marisa Tomei-type Emmys, right? Wow, too much whining about Amy and Bernadette these days. Never mind the fact everybody (except Sheldon) had sex by the end of the first season, so introducing the guys to women has been going on since day one. While I won't say this ep was at the level of Gift Basket Hypothesis or Justice League Recombination, it was a very solid ep and did show Sheldon attempting to grow a bit...although he reverted back by the end of the commercial break. Ah, well.

It's morphing into "Friends." Boys in one apartment; girls in the apartment across the hall. Meet up at restaurant where one of the girls is a waitress. One couple keeps hooking/breaking up, another engaged. If they add a naked guy who keeps his curtains open, game over.

Sheldon: New topic: women. Delightfully mysterious or bat-crap crazy?

Sheldon, sometimes you forget, I'm a lady. And, with that comes an estrogen-fueled need to page through thick glossy magazines that make me hate my body.
