I really like this episode! I won't repeat everything that's been said but for me, it's not really a problem having Katherine like that. I don't really think about it as plot hole. The off-screen conversation suits me fine. I think the problem is here that they let the cliffhanger about Michael and Katherine unanswered for to long but I don't mind her calling Damon. I mean, with telephones nowadays, why would she come in person when she can phone him?
I like to way Stefan's prediction about someone's humanity will make the plan fail and as it turned out, it was his!
Definitively enjoying this Stefan, including his scene with Katherine. Good move taking the originals even if it crushed my hope to see Elijah again before Christmas...
The only thing that I didn't really like, and I think someone already evoqued it, is the fact that the "gang" let Caroline out too many times. I do like her storyline with Tyler but I would LOVE to see her more involve with the others. As we saw it toni

This is the best episode of the season. It makes up for last week's boring episode. The acting, writing, etc all works. Awesome!

Delena is by far the most boring part of the show. Loved daddy Klaus when he made the big bad Klaus cry like a baby. Tyler was great the way he protected Caroline. Loved Katherine being all badass. Stefan is beyond outstanding love how he is protecting Damon. Bonnie, yay!! Love her.

I love the fact that now that Mikael is dead Damon is Klaus' arc nemesis.
It's really intriguing. At the beggining i though that Stefan would end up have this big fight with klaus but since day 1 Damon was the one who bothered Klaus more that anyone and their fight are only get bigger and bigger!
Of course you will say that now that Stafan has Klaus' family has a greater hold on Klaus but from the previews it seems that when the show will return from the hiatus (man that kills me) Damon will still be for Klaus what... Harry Potter was for Voldemort. Also on the one hand obviously Damon's plan was centered on killing Klaus and Klaus' plan was centered on killing Damon!
Now you will ask why the hell i'm saying this? But isn't anyone else consered why the writers keep having Damon as Klaus' big conseren and not Stefan? And not oly this! Why Damon was so much in common with the original family? As Klaus,Damon was never lived up to his father expectetions! As Elijah Damon was always the secon

i think keeping the audience in the dark was brilliant. it showed how stefan took damon and elena out of the line of fire, and it gave the audience a moment to wonder about his intentions at the same time....
LOVED katherine and rebekkah! :D... im just glad katherine's back, dont care if they skipped everything!

Loved this episode, left me on the edge of my seat and my mind reeling afterwards. Kat-as-plot-device definitely, but it seemed necessary to refrain from revealing her to the audience for shock value purposes, I know I totally bought that it was Elena (Kat's getting so good at impersonating her!). Plus it's been weeks since she was drained (start of school term until now), plenty of time for her to get her strength back. And We know she's been communicating with the gang as Damon mentioned it earlier in the episode (that she told him something, can't really remember what it was but if I'm not mistaken it was about Mikael's diet).

I thought they would show Michael's "body" to Klaus, but then Elena took the stake out of Original-Dad again after what felt like three minutes. So why even bother with putting it into him in the first place? Was it just so compelled Stefan could say "i saw it with my own eyes" on the phone?
Funny, I totally saw the Katherine turn coming... and was still disappointed. Like the review said, the writers left us in the dark too often. Bad writing. It just sucks to get to know they left out half of the scene :-(
But I like Stefan and Katherine together (as long as Stefan doesn't turn into a puppy again). And I just love Klaus, hope he survives the season.

Whoa,This episode was awesome on so meany levels,Every character was great.Who no Elena could be a little cut throat,I like that In her.I don't know why everyone saying her and Damon's scenes are to forced? They seem natural to me.I hate what happen to Rebekah,I hope she comes back soon.I think her and Stefan can have a awesome dynamic between them,I hope to see more scenes with them.It tragic what happening to Forwood,I not the biggest fan of the pairing but I feel for the fans. The couple was just starting out,I feel were Caroline Is coming form.Tyler to a little,But I think he loyalties to Klaus are strong then his feeling for Caroline. It messed up to since he can't help It,But for me Stefan was my coolest part for me.I been a huge Stefan fan from the very beginning,I enjoying his journey very much.In a weird way Stefan Is the one bring Damon and Elena closer together,With his the sacrifices that he keeps making for his love ones.I can't wait to see him and Klaus go at each other,I th
Too episodes of drama folded in one.as much as I liked the twists n turns, it'ws way too fast forward for my taste. for once Stefan outsmarted Damon, he looks like he is finally showing his true colors....and being himself... and as for Katherine's ( I love you I love you not) its good she spits it out finally. so the triangle is no more a triangle but a rectangle. which is awesome. preview looks great. best of all.. the final scene from the episode.. god! I am so waiting for whole entire original family to wake up and see the light of the day....
The vampire diaries ( let love suck, family comes first)
I enjoyed this episode. Though I did miss Alaric and Jeremy, it is hard to fit everyone in and to have a decent story line. For those who are saying why didn't Caroline know, it was best for the plan that not everyone knew all the details. They kept saying that during the entire episode.
There may have been plot holes but I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Can't wait for January 5th
So since everything else has been discussed, did anyone notice that very long jealous look Elena gave Damon after he told Katherine to "take care of herself" on the phone? LOL

Anyways I knew that My Kat would be back tonight , it was a given . I don't mind it but , like the reviewer said it is bad writing . Uhhh can't wait !!!

Title: "The Age of Insolence"
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Did you feel like that all the characters were acting strange? Perhaps it had to do with a type of "Age of Innocence" plot being driven in the background of this episode. Every core character had a weird change of heart in their behaviour.
As for the plot in general, I agree with the review, that the writers were cheating on every act of the episode to confuse and mystify the audience. The only clue was Elena saying to Matt "How about option 2" for a date. And Elean acting authoritive to Matt in the changing course of events for the plan.
Elena Pierce:
---------------------------------
Is Elena becoming Katherine? Ans: definitive no. Katherine in this episode admitted to being tied by her human emotions (as stated by Rose). She can't choose sides as much as she really wants to. Elena in comparison either accepts Stefan at one point or Damon at one point.

Wasnt too thrilled with tonight's episode. It wasnt necessarily bad, but i just had higher hopes for it i guess. Like you said, there were WAY too many plotholes throughout this episode that left me scratching my head most of the time.
I also think they should've explained the Sired thing a little better, i dont understand the full logistics of that. Sometimes Tyler is all about Caroline and the group, but then other times its as if hes been compelled by Klaus but we never see it happen?
Also, if Damon really wanted Klaus dead why did he stake him in the lower back region instead of near his heart! Its his own fault, if he had just aimed where the heart is but from the back it wouldve worked perfectly instead of first hitting him down there and then having to pul it out and hit again. Lame writing move.
And why does NO ONE in the group ever fill Caroline in anymore? In season 2 she was included in every single plan but now its like its season 1 all over again with her comple

They were holes in this episode, like most. I just feel that this Elena and Damon thing has been going on way too long, just put them together already. Stefan has yet again did everything to protect his brother and now Elena feels betrayed or whatever and is ready to let go! okay. He has always protected them both but yet Damon like always wants his brothers girl..He loved Elena because she looked like Kat and when he found out Kat wasn't there, he held on to his Love for Elena more..Anywho ..Put them together if you must, I'm gonna enjoy Stefan getting back at Klaus, they are both great actors and it's going to be fun. Rebecca is not dead, she is just going to be pissed when she they wake her up..lol ..CAN'T WAIT TILL JAN 5TH ...

I agree with the review. It was great but the writers again left out important scenes/information and then spring plot on us. Katherine, as usual, is misused as a plot device. What was Tyler doing since we last saw him? What was Caroline doing during the last ep? She wsn't cheerleading! What was Katherine doing for several episodes? Especially since last we saw, she was being drunk by Mikael.
Becky is going to be pissed at Elena and Damon! I knew right away Tyler was protecting Caroline. Small death count for a mid-season finale. Tyler/Caroline scenes are great regardless of whether it's cute, funny, hot, happy, sad, or argumentative. Tyler: "If I'm sired to anyone, it's you" Cute and funny despite being argumentative. Caroline: "Evil blood slut" LOL
Elena was better than tolerable. She's daggered 3 originals now.
Bonnie had a funny line about the hieroglyphics. Sucks that Mikael died already.
Looking forward to the other Originals!
