Dair made season four for me as well, after being a die-hard Chair shipper for the first three seasons. I went into season four wanting Chuck to redeem himself and the couple to fall in love all over again, but found myself rooting for Dair from 4x11 onwards. Their banter is just so adorable, and they just light up the screen.
The episode that would stand out for me as their defining moment though, was definitely 5x02. It showed just how important they had become to each other's lives. And while Chuck's love for Blair has always been somewhat selfish and demanding, it proved Dan is going to be there for her and stick by her through thick and thin (and having another man's baby) even if his feelings have to go unspoken and unrequited. Blair, for all her flaws, deserves that kind of devotion.
On the other hand, the past two episodes have fallen flat for me. The attempts to resurrect Chair and Derena have felt stilted and forced, like the writers are just going through the motions.

@B - you said everything I was thinking! Dair fans are just like any other shipper fan base, no better no worse...I respect this article and the author's point of view but for me GG has and always will be about Chair as this week's incredibly poignant epic scene shows us once again.

Sorry, but I don't think Dair should have even been considered for this because they were never a couple, period; as teens or otherwise.

Finally some Dair support here! We sort of need it because it just seems like the writers will never dare it :-(
I agree with you, Dair is not only appealing because Chuck has made quite a lot of mistakes, it's not just an option B. Those two actually have the best chemistry we've seen in a long time in this show!
I disagree that Serena needs to end up with Dan. In fact, her character needs to stay away from boys at the end (unless it's Carter Baizen). She is much more appealing as a person when she is not with someone. Serena has had so many hook ups, I don't take her seriously with anybody. Not even Dan, her former "love of her life".

I'm torn! I actually really like both Chuck and Blair and Blair and Dan. They have both produced my favorite moments in season 4 and 5 (and Chuck Blair since season 1). Agh. I'd be happy if Chuck Dan and Blair are the triangle. I'd love to see a scene now where Blair/Chuck/Dan interacted. That would be so good because both guys have chemistry with Blair and both guys have chemistry with each other! Oh, I'm so natefused.

I didn't read the other comments so sorry if I'm repetitive or else :)
I've left my homework just to read some Dair love and I'm quite happy with what I've just read.
It's so true the evolution of Dair is just the best a couple on television could have even if I have to admit Blair's story lines through the seasons are quite unrealistic.
For being one of the few people who ship them since the 1st season, I've never thought one day I could actually watch them happen.
Even if they're not a couple yet, I put my faith into the writer's hands right now. Right at this moment, I tend to appreciate the few Dair scene we have because those scenes are just amazing, the subtle evolution of their relationship is just enough for me to ship them and love them more and more.
I can't possibly see Blair with anyone, the connection between is too huge, with how their relationship evolved it's quite impossible for them to just being friends.
Dair is maybe on of the only things that keeps me watchi

Whats this stuff about cheating? you can only vote once! and why would Chair fans be the only ones cheating when there are 12 couples to vote for? fans of all couples could cheat if it were possible, which it isnt.

It's so awesome to see that even though (for some obscure reason) the internet fandom seems to be completely enamoured with Chuck and Blair that so many bloggers have seen the appeal of Dair.
Their story has been pretty much the most authentic storyline that Gossip Girl has ever had, and we can only hope that the writers know not to let a good thing go. I hope that more people will see that appeal and Dare to Dair in future =).

@Caroline I'm not trying to be rude but the poll is for fans of all the couples represented in the poll, which includes Chuck and Blair. People are commenting, as people are wont to do in these threads. It's not like someone came into a Dair only thread.
@B I agree with you. I don't get how people in the 'fandom' are so nasty towards each other even tho we all like the same show. I'm still under the belief that its like the same 4 people that go on every website and start with each other.

What a ridiculous article!!!! Best Teen Couple? When have Dan and Blair ever even gotten close to being a couple! In Dan's dreams? In his book? Ain't that rich... And as they never would be a couple, they are are largely used as a crutch to create additional Chair tension.
Everybody always conveniently forgets that Serena is not going to disappear from the couples circle. Who else are you going to stick her with if not Dan? Haven't you seen enough idiots for Serena that last 2-3 episodes? Dan will always be there to take their place? Deal with it.. :-)

I really hate the mentality in the fandom that Dair fans are superior people to Chair. I've lurked these threads and boards and what I see is some Chair fans being awful and some Dair fans being awful, too.Plenty of Dair fans go on the Chair related items and trash that couple. That's only a few people I believe though. Then there is a pretty good imo majority of people who are respectful and share their opinion, discuss etc. There's only one thing worse than being hateful and that's being hateful and a hypocrite. And yea right, Dair fans are cut from the same cloth as all others shippers in the history of shipping, they'll sit on their asses all day voting in these polls too.
I like the Dair storyline, more power to everyone for liking it as well, go ahead and vote a billion times, scream how much you love this fictional pairing for twiterr.
