"I think Dan is a great friend for Blair and she knows and feels that, but I don't understand why producers are forcing a love relationship between them, when we all know that at the end, Blair will go back into Chuck arms 'cause they belong together."
Yep. Dan deserves that same kind of unconditional, intense, passionate love that Blair has for Chuck. I'm sure that if this were a 8 or a 10 season show, AND if we'd gotten Chair closure in 2010, maybe they could sell it to the majority of viewers. Those two (Dan and Blair) are hilarious together. But there's simply not enough time left.
There was a girl who DID love Dan like that. I'd be willing to bet that in the GG universe, she's still a little crazy about him. But she was annoying and started scheming. Fans didn't like her. So she's no longer on the show. *shrug* What I wouldn't give to see what Vanessa makes of this mess...

Late game changer: Nate's perpetual failures in his relationships and consistent bachelorism is a result of latent homosexuality and an on-set for his feelings for Dan. Dan, realizing that his book spoke far more volumes of his relationship with Nate, remains friends with Blair and a new ship is born...

I say that if Dair happens (and I think it will for a while), both Serena and Chuck need to get their groove back.
I doubt it will be with each other, because if Dan and Blair sleep together (shudder! Sorry Dair fans, but I can't!), then the ONLY main characters who have not hooked up would be Chuck and Serena, and I like it that way. The two who have probably slept with more people than the rest of the UES combined haven't hooked up with anyone in zillions of eps.
It's just so weird that no one is having any sex this season. Even Blair, who's now MARRIED, will likely not consummate her marriage per Louis' conditions. All this sexual frustration has to be leading SOMEWHERE. But I doubt the crazy writers even realize this. LOL!

Look I'm not blinded by my love for Chair to not see an obvious Dair connection. But honestly until I see Blair Waldorf even begin to reciprocate feelings, I can't support this shipping. Serena's quote about having a deep connection no matter what you go through and comparing chair and derena should have gotten through to you all. The writers wouldn't have her say something so philosophical only for Chair and Derena to not be endgame.

@kevin With Blair returning to her old self I mean the s 1 Blair who broke up with Nate because he clearly didn't love her. The old Blair who slept with Chuck because she loved him. The old Blair who chose to be with Chuck not because he is the better choice than Nate but because she loved him and so she followed her heart. The s1 Blair was also intelligent and ambitious. Why isn't she attending university? Being a princess is not a fulfilling job in my mind. The old Blair who was also a bitch and who knew when someone was scheming behind her back. The old Blair would have known that something was wrong with Louis and the old Blair was a romantic she would have never married Louis. Now she is just indecisive, whiney and volatile, in short she is the old Serena. In comparison to this version of Blair, who makes a pact with God, Serena is a mature person and the voice of reason.

Dair fans: Your ship is finally going to get their chance. In order for Dair to happen, you needed Blair to depend on him instead of Serena and Chuck. That has happened. Instead of being grateful that a newer ship gets a shot, Dair fans are trashing Chair endlessly. Look, she called DAN just now, and she left with him WHEN she's married and is in love with another man. What the heck else do you want to happen?
Chair fans: O, ye of little faith! Has their grand passion ever been simple or easy? After Season 3, did you honestly think they'd still be in love with each other? What Blair did actually evens the score a little. It's sacrilege to marry someone who you don't love, hurting the one who you "love more each day" in the process. Chuck suffered immediate karmic consequences for the IP & CJ (shot!), & so has Blair (the prince & royal family now pwn her). My poor scheming manipulative babies. C's growing up. So will B.

I wouldn't say they have destroyed Blair's character. They have just used Blair's successes to make Serena look more sympathetic. Its win-win for both of them. We get to see our hero Blair finally get some success in life by having all the guys after her and having power handed to her. We also get to see Serena become more relatable as a main character as she fails in her career and love life.

As someone who is the same age as the gossip girl characters, I feel like I myself have grown up alongside them. I have been a dedicated fan since I was in high school, and this episode tonight well, I'm done. Gossip girls two central relationships are those of Blair and Serena and. Blair and chuck. The old Blair would never have left with Dan Humphrey of all people when chuck was there with open arms. I'll take it one further--the old Blair would have never even gotten mixed up with Louie in the first place. After finishing what I thought was supposed to be the best gossip girl of all time, I was left with disappointment. I love gossip girl but feel the series should end before they continue to ruin the show I have loved from the beginning. They have been coming up short consistently since the third season, but after watching this horrible wedding take place, I am officially done.
