I was disappointed with this episode. After building up the Phantom Eight story line, the conclusion seemed like an afterthought. And that bait-and-switch "safe house" trick was used before at the end of the Mexican drug cartel episodes.

Gigi - that was a very nice thing for you to say and as I love Tony and Ziva together - I really appreciate your statement. Thank you so much. It was a very cute scene indeed.

Great ep. Good moments for all.
I predict that the writers will have Ziva get engaged to CiRay but not for long. Fans might not like that complication. I know I wouldn't.
We've been waiting too many years for TIVA. Bring it on!

I love the show and if I can't watch it LIVE I DVR it and watch it as soon as I can. Did anyone see the previews for next week? What will Ziva do?

I thought NCIS was different but now they are becoming like every other cop show they are going going for a small populations of their fanbase and giving a middle finger to everyone eles.
How many time have we seen a show go down hill when two main star become lover one too many if you ask me but I guess they don't care about what their fans want really sad how far NCIS has fallen thanks to Tiva.
Oh and Big THANK YOU to the writers about Gibbs killing innocent people its funny we get so piss off when American are killed but yet its ok for us american to kill innocent people but their not allowed to kill us.
Mcgee is I guess going to be the Joke Agent these season because he really have not done anything good these whole season escape put Tony down.
EJ was great until she told Tony to break the law and sleep with Ziva what a bitch I can't believe the writer made her a from a kick ass agent to a Twlight chick.

What an awesome review, thanks! I was very leery going into this ep, as it was writen by one of the probie writers, whose debut effort, Thirst, was my least fav ep so far. But he really surprised me! The plot moved along, Stratton finally showed a little edge to his character, and when he put that knife in Latham I was genuinely surprised. Love being surprised!
And competent, no-nonsense Tony rocked! Love this mature, reflective version of our very special agent. And finally, they're finding their footing with Ziva! Loved these two, and their interactions with each other and with EJ. The team being concerned about Tony, Gibbs being sweet to Abby (aw), and team Gibbs catching the bad guy, all made for a rousing ep. I was engaged from begining to end. But really, that ending? Still smiling...

Great episode. The clever writing is back. Scott Wolfe makes an outstanding villain. I think we'll see him again at some point and I think the comment he made to Gibbs about killing innocents south of the border will become a storyline. We know Gibbs killed one drug dealer who killed his family but Stratton implied Gibbs has killed others. One half of me wants to see Tony and Ziva get together but the other half of me wants them to remain apart. The sexual tension and witty dialogue is just too delicious.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention in my earlier comment...I'm not really pro or anti Tiva, but I gotta admit...that was a really cute scene with Tony and Ziva at the end. I'm happy the writers finally gave the Tiva people some love.

Excellent show. NCIS is always an enjoyable hour for me. The cast just fits so well together. Glad to see EJ leaving again, do not care for her character at all. I will always miss Franks and have no problem with him coming back as a memory for Gibbs. This is just an all around good show.

I thought it was a great episode, it hit the action and the interpersonal stuff with equal appeal this week. Nice to see new SecNav not be a butt, I knew he had it in him to be pals with Gibbs, but where was Vance!? He surely will not be pleased Gibbs went over his head. Was it Gibbs' way of protecting him? The TIVA was awesome, I about freaked when EJ actually said something to Tony about Ziva. Craziness, and I ate it up!!! Fantastic episode!

Finally TIVA moments. And wonderful ones on top of that! Thank you TPTB!
I finally got to liking EJ but still think she's not a top agent. She just doesn't have the "gut" that Gibbs does and to a lesser extent his entire team. And sadly I don't think she's going to develop it.
What did happen to the dog, I too wondered?
Gibbs didn't kill anyone who was "innocent" in Mexico.
Wonder if the couple of big mistakes Tony mentioned he'd made include that "kid in Baltimore?"
Hated the preview though.
Really liked this review!
And agree with almost all of it.
THANKS
Happy New Year everyone! Great episode! Is it just my imagination or was the concept that Ray Cruz is not who he appears to be and is really a smarm alluded to in previous episodes?

First, to you Janet. Hi, my friend. I totally agree with you about this Episode -the best one so far this Season. It had everything - humour - suspense - gunfight - little bit of romance. For once,ej did the right thing. Well, not withoout getting one more innocent person killed - but the main point is SHE IS GONE for good.
I will never like her - and as an Agent she sucks - but it was a very satisfactory end to her without having yet one more female die on NCIS.
I saved the best for last. Tony and Ziva - those two have sparks. That they could go all these years and not hook them up - shocking - but I think the die is cast - I could not be happier - it still might take sometime but if tonight is any indication - the total right choice..twitter blew up..facebook blew up and Tiva threads had more than 35 papes of positive comments. This is an amazing show and tonight showed why 20 plus million people tune in...
Bravo NCIS - very well done ! Keep it up.....

Great episode!! Gibbs got his mojo back, EJ is long gone (hopefully), and THAT was a real gunfight!! We even got some McGee shooting! I even kinda liked SecNav tonight. He actually listened to Gibbs without playing the arrogant card. Tony's still a sad sack, but maybe he'll cheer up later. Now to get rid of ol Ray and we'll be back to the TEAM as it should be...
One minor gripe...if they try to resurrect that whole Mexico/Gibbs cr*p, I'll just scream! Hopefully, it was just a blip. I mean Vance knows about the whole thing, the file is "lost", so what's the point? Stratton made a good villan, but I hope he's totally out of the picture too.
Holding my breath on the Ray proposal...I mean surely Ziva knows he's a waste of time, but who knows? I just want to get through next week with the team intact and get back to solving cases.

Franks: Over the years we do some things, some good, some bad. Decisions that help one person can hurt another. Gibbs: Damned if you do. Franks: In the end, ...
