ABC Pilot Pickups: The Return of Marc Cherry and More
Desperate Housewives might be saying goodbye in May, but creator Marc Cherry hopes to be sticking around ABC.
The network picked up four dramatic pilots yesterday, including one from Cherry and one based around a certain city made famous by Batman...

Devious Maids: From Cherry, centers on a quarter of housemaids who work in Beverly Hills.
Gotham: Features a female police officer who learns that a magical world exists within New York City.
Penoza: From Dexter producer Melissa Rosenberg, tells the tale of the widow who takes over her late husband's crime syndicate in order to protect her family.
Zero Hour: Focuses on an editor at a magazine who is yanked into a bizarre conspiracy.
ABC also picked up a pilot this week for a Judy Greer sitcom, while The CW made major news last night by naming Stephen Amell as The Green Arrow.

While I love scifi and fantasy, too many BAD pilots and shows, and people are going to turn away from the genre on TV...again...which means we'll lose the scifi/fantasy shows, as well :(
Zero Hour--wonder if it's taking its cue from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo...

I agree with Dexter Idolizer. You would think that in the 8 years Marc would have thought of something else... But if he writes it well, it won't be a DH rip off.
Looking forward to Gotham. Love any magic infused shows...

They all sound pilot watch worthy, but Devious Maids just sounds like a cheap rip-off of Desperate Housewives.
