Can I just say...what Castle and Beckett have right now isn't sexual tension. When it's just sexual tension, they can push buttons all they want because it's exciting to get a rise out of the other person. When it's love, they're almost afraid to push buttons because they're afraid the reaction might be negative. They're much more careful.
There was sexual tension in the first two seasons when they were just attracted to each other. What they have now is I'm-in-love-and-don't-know-what-to-do-about-it tension. That's completely different - and I think the actors are doing a fantastic job of playing it that way.

I enjoyed the episode but lately I've been wanting more. It is time to see more forward movement in their relationship. An honest conversation about their feelings for one another would suffice at this point. But please give something! The natives are getting restless!

Chad Everett is 75 and looks ten years younger. Although I like him, I couldn't buy him as a man who had to be at least 90 years old. This all happened almost 65 years ago so the characters must be at least 85-90. Cold Case had the same flaw - using actors who were much too young to have aged with the mysteries. Otherwise I liked the dialogue and the film noir feeling of the flashbacks.
I don't mind the snail's pace of Caskett because too many shows have started a downhill slide when the sexual tension gets resolved (i.e. Moonlighting).
(Part 03)
Anyway, I could go on and on but basically what I’m saying is I’d rather see this relationship and overall story move forward and maybe cause the series to end before magical sweet spot of six or seven years than to have it stall like it has and slowly degrade and lose viewers thus causing a premature cancellation. And apparently I’m not the only who feels this way because the ratings are already starting to fall. That along with no early renewal notice from ABC has me more than a little worried about my favorite show! Get on with it and let the chips fall where they may. Are you listening Marlowe?
(Part 02)
…. The Noir episode was fine/good – not great but fine – but it was filler and not the best way to start a sweeps month (and yes, I realize not every single episode can focus on the overall arc of the series but this season feels more than a little thin). What’s worse is that the “Caskett” spark seems to have fizzled (where’s the great banter and back and forth?) and the murder cases aren’t that good any more (I shouldn’t be able to figure out who the killer is before Castle and Beckett!). To that point the over writing doesn’t seem as good this year. I really didn’t think the departure of writer Will Beall would affect things this much.
Part 01)
Now back to the show. Regarding the question about the progression of the “relationship:” I know the people “controlling” things (whether that be Marlowe or the suits at ABC or both) have been in a tricky situation (and please note the past tense of my sentence) - let the characters get together as an “official” couple and risk losing viewers because they really don’t want to see a happy relationship on TV (something I don’t believe or buy into) or keep stretching this thing out as long as possible. I understand that (not many of us enjoy unemployment) but I think the time has more than passed for stretching it out. Especially if we are going to continue to get the mainly lackluster episodes we’ve gotten this season. If this was a TV show twenty to thirty years ago they probably could get away with it but audiences aren’t that patient anymore and, frankly, not that stupid. …

No, there is no statute of limitations when it comes to murder, but Beckett did the right thing. She would have to have solid proof that Joe and Vera committed the murder, which she didn't have. She only had a spoken confession and a gun. They had no other witnesses, and even if they did, their information 55 years after the fact would not have been at all reliable. And what is the point of tossing an old couple in jai?l All they wanted to do was live their lives together, and there are many, many other criminals out there on the streets that should be locked up right now. I mean, seriously, would you rather arrest a harmless old couple who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, or a child molester?
Who are you people? Let’s step aside from “Castle” for one second and get something clear. There is no statute of limitations on murder in this country (USA). I would have thought everyone knew that! Jeepers. That’s really scary. Sad commentary on our educational system I guess. Wow.

Great episode. The entire family loved it. Sally was great, but Castle ran away with the honors. Everything from him "narrating" himself to his "boyo" lessons to the Kate / fate walkback worked. Even the final shot, with the blue butterfly and "The End" were perfect. This goes down as one of the best.

There isn't a statue of limitations on murder, but there is on involuntary manslaughter, which that clearly was, which is only 5 years. So, considering how this was 55 years after the fact, no point in even trying to charge.

I used to say that I was OK with the snail's pace, as long as the snail was moving forward, but this episode, I saw no sparks at all. Even the kiss at the end seemed perfunctory. The writers should go watch most of the Tracy-Hepburn movies, all of the William Powell-Myrna Loy Thin Man movies, and go back to the tension-filled wisecracking, because that worked. Lanie and Ryan were the best, and those DRESSES! Wow!

1: yep starting to wonder if the same writers that wrote boy meets world wrote this series. I'm on record as saying that Caskett body language doesn't gell. If you really want to see how to keep the sexual tension going google Keith Barry or Derren brown on dating..That will even suit a G rating. Slow is a snail crawling forwards this is a snail crawling backwards!
2. Normally she would have but things change. I'd side with her.
3. Kates heart raced and she pinned him to it.
4.The writers need to up the ante more caskett refer to snail crawling backwards comment. BUT don't want to see them do a 1 niter, want a wedding!

1. Lanie. Great singer! Plus, even her alternate ego is a shipper "You two are a walking fairy tale. Good lord." LOL Also, Beckett. Yea, I agree with Christine, those are beautiful wardrobes!!
2. No. Like Beckett said, the way I see it, it was just self-defense.
3. Going with Courtney on this one: Sitting down with Viola and Jack and hear the resolution to their story. Aww.
4. Going with Chandel. I think that this season, as a whole, has had more progress than previous seasons. I'm actually quite comfortable at the pace they're going. And if they are getting together, I want it to be a real deal, and not just get together then break up and repeat. Although I wouldn't mind if the writers give us a little of something...

1. Tie between Tamala and Nathan! Tamala's got some serious pipes, and was a reincarnation of Billie Holliday. Nathan looked very yummy and pulled off his accent like a champ!
2. She should have, and it was annoying, but I had no problem letting it slide. The writers need a brush-up on police procedure, and a lot of help with medical jarginy stuff. Just enough to not be so blatantly outlandish.
3. Boy-o. Need I say more?
4. Vamanos! Rapido! Andale! NOW!!!

Goodness me - is there nothing Nathan Fillion can't do?! How are people not BEGGING him to do feature films?
1. Gotta go with Lanie. Girl can SANG!!
2. While she SHOULD have (legally), I can see why she wouldn't. Taking two old people to court for a self-defence case with barely any evidence and mobsters involved...messy and pointless.
3. Kate vs Fate - too hilarious. Close second is Castle vs. Ryan the leprechaun.
4. I think it's a little too slow. The pacing isn't terrible, but I think they're ready to have the obstacles removed so that they can get on with it. I think they'll be even more fun when they're together - the tension will be gone and Castle can be his old playful self.

-I loved Castle. Nathan Fillion really got into the 40s theme.
-Legally she probably should have but I'm glad she didn't arrest Joe and Vera. I'm sure that there are times when cops make judgement calls about such things.
-I liked the scene where they hear that Vera and Joe were killed. Kate looks just as disappointed as Castle and I thought it was really sweet.
-Yes! Get them together already. I got bored with Bones because it took forever to get the leads together and then they skipped over a lot of the fun stuff. I don't want to wait anymore. I want a real romance, not a one night stand. They don't even have to jump into bed right away. I'd be thrilled with some dating. A real courtship...and some kissing. Well, lots of kissing. :)

Lanie was def my fav. She could sing and looked fab.
Lets get on with it already...I need something...I little more than a sweet kiss between their alter egos. I want to see an epic romance played out. I am a huge fan of Bones and will be...not just for the romance (dullsville) but the whole cast. Thats why I love Castle too!

Awesome ep. Yay... round table!
My fav alter ego was Ryan-> the accent, the outfit, the BA attitude. Beckett was right in not arresting Vera and Joe. My favorite part was when Castle was trying to get Ryan to speak with an accent. I agree with Christine: the part where Castle brought Kate into the story of the diary was awesome... and when she wanted to know what happened, Castle was like, ''If you wanted a beginning, middle, and an ending, I have 27 novels you can choose from.'' Haha
And as for the relationship... There's an ''I love you'' that still needs to be discussed!!!! And I want a real relationship, not a one-night-stand that has to be sorted out later. I love the flirtations. The pace is fine.
Regarding the will they/won't they, I hope they do, but the pace of the show works fine for me. Has anyone been watching Bones? It's reached the point where even though maybe they are, it's been seven seasons, and I don't freaking care!. I love Castle, and I sincerely hope they don't go the same route as Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan. (although I have to say I think the Castle writers are smarter. They've gone four seasons and haven't screwed over the fans.)
