I did not watch this episode due to the dramatic NCIS (my favorite) episode being opposite it Tuesday night. I must admit I only watch Glee for the music The first season was very good, but successive seasons have gotten worse. It's getting harder and harder to stay with the show. The two characters that get on my nerves the most are Santana and Sue simply because of their unending bad attitudes and scheming. Get rid of Sebastian also. My favs are Rachel, Artie and Blaine. Very talented! Really like Darren Criss - he lights up the screen. Maybe the writers should not try to follow so many plot lines in the same episode. It's makes for a very disjointed show.

I thought this episode was truly stupid except for Kurt's scenes (I'm a hardcore Klainer) but I wanted to tell you an amusing anecdote. When I was younger, I worked as a history teacher in a NYC high school. THe language department was part of the Social Studies dep't, too. ONe day, my chairman
asked me if I wanted to teach Spanish 101. I told him that I studied French in
school and didn't speak Spanish. He replied: "That doesn't matter-- You only need to stay one week ahead of the kids!" Obviously, they have the same policy in Ohio schools. I used to love this show, but it seems that even with a whole crew of new writers, Glee is lost in time.

I was upset that Will suddenly wasn't fluent in Spanish anymore. I agree, this show is all over the place this season... I only watch in for the music now.

Second of all these racist comments are crap, the assignment was to sing any spanish/bilingual song from any artist. And since when has not having th best spanish dialect been racist? Glee tackles stuff like this daily, you wouldn't care if it was a black person making fun of another black person or Sugar's "aspergers" but suddenly now that's it's Hispanic the racist excuse is drawn out. Was it racist when Becky said she's no rice queen when thinking of Mike? No, so why is it now? Give me a break. Matt I do have a question though, Is Becky a stereotype? What about Blaine, Lauren, Emma, Rachel, Santana, Sebastian? This is what people mean when they say you only mention the bad. There were a lot more pamphlets than that single 1 that bothered you, yet you has to pick apart that single 1.

@Tom, I completely agree, I respect the reviewer because I think it's his honest opinion but some of these comments are just plain bull or people trying to follow the leader. First of all if you stop staring yourself blind at your picket fences, you'd realize that in a lot of small towns teachers are appointed on a lot less merit than Will. On a Pretty little liars review there's no complaint about suspending belief for how Aria's mom suddenly became a teacher or in 90210 how all the teens parents are no where in sight and even on awkward a small comment was made on Valerie's merit as a counsilar, yet it's never blown out of proportion, yet because this is Glee, which is a comedy, it has to be cross analyzed.

For story developments, Sue's maternal moment doesn't come out of the blue. She did mentor Becky in "Yes/No" and if after that her maternal instinct kicked in, it doesn't seem weird for me at all.
Glee isn't just about the students, so I think this episode is really a Will/Emma/Sue episode and how they actually develop their own characters. Will trust Emma, Emma become a tenure and Sue got focused in Cheerios again.
And let's not forget the continuity of Finnchel. And if you want Kurt/Finn bromance moment, you can tune back to, once again, Yes/No, when both of them and Rachel had dinner together, and in Michael, when the three of them visited Blaine. They are subtle but at least it proves they did share bromance moment.
I'm a silent reader but I feel like I need to express my opinion this time. Clearly disappointed by the way the reviewer judge this one. And yes, Matt, you're such a bad hater.

This episode has been one of the worse one so far. A Spanish teacher who doesn't even know basic words in Spanish and also takes Spanish classes in a adult learning facility? That only shows how bad in the education system in USA. I really do not know why America still thinks in 2012 that Latinos are only from Mexico. Did anyone of the Glee club try to learn the lyrics from the song that they sang, the Spanish sections of each song? There were so bad and didn’t make any sense some of them. I didn't know that Madonna is from any Hispanic country or La Isla Bonita is considering a Spanish song at all. Santana who suppose to be the only Latina and it defended her “race”, even thought her cause was right, received a good education. But she doesn't even speak Spanish, she has a really strong accent and she couldn't pronounce clearly the words. The only good thing was Ricky Martin at the beginning. The rest I thought it was kinda a racist and a joke for Hispanic and Latin communities.

If next week's ep was about a giant Lizard coming to McKinley to teach the gleeks the power of mathemathics I would not even be fazed.
Glee was such a great tragicomedy, now is just a crazy bitch out of her meds. Please Glee, get your shit together.

I honestly don't even now. I liked Glee better when the characters where more archetipycal, you could get good humor from that, there was a refreshing mix between cynicism and idealism. that's what I loved about Glee that first season and some parts of the second.
It's like, Glee was bout people trying to fit in the world, to make their way, and everyone represented a part of being an outcast. It was dark sometimes, fluffy others, touching and funny, it had it all. Now it seems that hey really have no clue what they are doing, with every other episode getting ridiculousness heavy on the morale, as if the show is trying to evangelize or something, or just plain ridiculous. And whats worse for me, that the show's world seems to shift just to procure some cheap drama. There's barely any development for the characters anymore, things just keep happening out of nowhere and we get to see a reaction shot from some characters.

I'm latin and live in a latin country and I really apreciate what Santana said 'cause was right. I'd like them to sing more lating songs insted of english song with some words in spanish on them...
And plz!!!! Mexico is not all latin america.. I have nothing against Mexico but there are other countries too. Not all of us dress the same tipical mexican clothes, or eat the same food.. I'm from Perú and we have great fod too you also have Ecuador, Argentina, Chile, colombia and many other latin counties to talk about and to use their customes...

Is it too much to ask for a little consistency and coherence in the writing?! Honestly, this show has become one music video after another. What's the point of even having actors if all they're going to do is cover songs without regard to plots or storylines?

I was a HUGE GLEEK fan on the beggining, but now and with this episode, i have decided to give up on it. as an spanish person, this was just plain racist. this show has become a mess; just pure garbage. i loved the begginings, when there was quirky humor and development , but now this is a mess. i loved when this was this generation's POPULAR(another quirky show from murphy and co.) but now is nothing but a soap opera. it's a shame.

PS: DONT COMPARE SMASH TO THIS. they got in an hour what glee couldn't on this whole season.

...cont. Sam and Mercedes make no sense. Finn and Rachel getting married makes even less sense. Mr. Schu not knowing Spanish is beyond stupid, it's insane. Every so often, there is a shining moment: Kurt talking with Finn in this episode, for example. But such moments are often built on top of pure crazy (what does Finn think he's going to DO in NYC, be a house hubby?), so that I'm not sure why I still watch. It's like a fantasy land where absolutely nothing is realistic, and because of that there are no "stakes"... nothing matters, nothing is important. Even the infrequent good messages are now little more than jokes, trod upon by big dumb shoes.

Glee stopped making sense and drove off on the crazy train a LONG time ago. Compared to what it was in season 1, it's now devolved to where almost none of the story lines make any sense from week to week. It's just random insanity tied loosely together with snappy one-liners and cover music that will be sold to the younger masses. It's really disappointing that the writers have chosen to go this way.

@Keith, while I agree Glee is not in the least bit as consistent as it was in season 1, I feel like each episode should be reviewed on it's own as well, otherwise what's the point of reviewing each week. That's why I feel like we'll never get a fully pure review because I feel like already expects the worst and his judgement is clouded by things bothering him from previous episdodes.

I don't know if it's because I read this review before I watched it and expected a lot less or because I live in a twilight, but I really enjoyed this. It somehow seemed to hit all the right notes for me. Loved the pamphlets, the humor, the music, Roz Washington, Sue Sylvester and Ricky Martin. I'm all aboard Samceded and could even tolerate Will's story. I don't if I'm high or drunk but it somehow seemed like Glee back to basics.

Glee always had that kind of black humor, cartoon like characters and non sense story lines, that were more or less dropped after each episode, I actually like that about it- it is very light, different, and at times damn funny. You don't have to invest on the characters and that'S a good thing, it is a musical! It is admittedly not as fun as it used to be, but it is actually just fine. Me too I think the reviewer should stop watching Glee, or stop writing about it. The point of the review is for the fun to continue, that means, it too should provide witty remarks and observations on what we just saw, not describe what we just saw in a very boring , bored way. -Reading that type of review has zero entertainment value. (and yes I am not going to read it again, just wanted to give a feedback)

The reviewer points out the bad in the show because he's disappointed. People who say they want a "cheerleader" review don't, not really -- because it would be obvious bull, and you'd have to wonder if the reviewer wasn't just being sarcastic and making fun. All of the defenders of the show would have a valid point about Glee being a musical and not a sitcom if the show did one thing: be consistent from week to week. Is there any other show that's all over the place like Glee this season?
