Gossip Girl Promos: "Cross Rhodes"

by at . Comments

Below are a couple of promos (U.S. and Canada) for next week's episode of Gossip Girl, "Cross Rhodes." It picks up right where "Crazy, Cupid, Love" left off, and the aftermath of Dair's kiss is quickly felt by all.

According to the episode synopsis, "Blair tries to prove Serena's suspicions wrong in order to save their friendship." Good luck with that. If last night told us anything, it's that she does have feelings for Dan.

Speaking of the Muppet, he's confronted about his feelings as well - by Chuck. Is Dan really winning, as he tells Chuck in the Canadian promo below, or is the Bass Man in another league, as he claims?

Take a look at both teasers for next week and see what you think:

I used to be a huge fan of Chair. Their chemistry is seriously off the chain. But recently I've switched to the Dair side. Maybe because, in real life, I've dated a few guys like Chuck and they are COMPLICATED. You know the ones - they're from extremely rich and messed up families. They're complex, trust no-one, and are capable of hurting you terribly. They are also capable of great love, are often passionate and make extravagant gestures and give expensive gifts. Unfortunately their love has so many strings attached and you end up losing yourself... Guys like Dan are actually capable of loving unconditionally, being honest, without reserve or manipulation. Blair can be herself with Dan. I hope she chooses him - apart from being the sensible choice, it's a good example to all those girls out there who are being hurt by their own Chuck Bass. I chose to marry my Dan Humphrey - 3 years into the relationship I have not regretted it for one day :)

this episode will be awesome. think about it. think back too season 1, would you ever pick these 2 too be a couple, NEVER. They aren't going to be end game. It's obviously a starting point for them to fail back with there first lovers.

... And now the Cross Road of Chuck's recurring theme is that he will revert back to his old character to take down Dan's future prospect. The Yin and Yang of Chuck Bass.

... which is to say since the end of season 2, Chuck has never been given a break. In the books, he is written as an recurring (not main cast member) antagonist to the main protagonists. Dan Humphrey is a protagonist observer who views the Upper East Side via the reader's eye (irony is that it's quite a judgemental person who views everyone's actions as deplorable except his own). In the TV series, from season 3 and to the present, there has been a constant back and forth of denying Chuck any happiness. Whether he tries to redeemed or not, he is alone; except the surrogacy of a step-mother Lily. Not even with Blair in his life is he made content. He may not be written as a classic novel character, but he certainly has experienced them all.

- Chuck on the other hand is written consistently (one of the few things written consistently) as a Tragedy. Chuck was told that his mother died. As far as it is known, and it is confirmed by Uncle Bass, that the biological mother of Chuck Bass is Elizabeth Fisher. If bad writing permits, it may be Ms Payne in reality (Elizabeth Hurley's character). And I get the feeling that he will keep being written as a Tragedy. He's character won't get a happy ending until the very end. Maybe...

Promos are allways misleading- so this much Dair kissing in Promo can mean only one thing - by the end of this episode (or in near future) they will get in to huge fight, most likely because Dan was the one who sent the video of Chair to gg... :(

@queenbee, Some few erroneous statements: - On the contrary, none of the first season main cores had happy family units. Blair had a neglectful mother (work was more important) and an absent father (his lover was more important). Dan had a neglectful mother (her lover was more important), but a caring & overprotective father. While Nate had a neglectful mother (society was more important) and insecure dad (money problems).

those things affected him and thats why he became the person he was but he changed and became the man blair always wanted him to be and dan was never completely innocent to , remember how he ruined blairs 2o birthday, how he talked blair into not telling chuck she loves him, how he was writing a book( in which he lied about having sex with one of them, creepy) about all of them and didnt tell anyone about it , how he was a jerk to serena in 5x14 , how he was talking on and on about how chuck sent the video and he was the one who sent it and how he wrote louis vows and not tell blair about it and how he judged and how he thought he was a better person than all of them just because he was poor ... P.S why does everyone keep looking only tthe bad things chuck did

im sick of people telling how dan is a better person than chuck, dan grew up in a loving family ( just because his mom left doesnt mean she stopped loving him )and besides that his life was pretty much perfect and chucks mom died giving birth to him and thats why his father never really payed attention to him , his uncle tried to takeover his company and hotel, his mother used him only so she could get his hotel , eva left him, raina left him, blair left him (a couple of times), hes been shot , he was in a coma...
