I'll just say "ditto" to all of the great, positive comments about the writing and the acting--both were superb! I will add this as an afterthought: PLEASE don't put Gibbs in a scraggly goatee again! I realize it was done to emphasize the depth of his despair and loss....but it was really NASTY lookin'!

You know I was worry because ever since The new Born King NCIS has not been itself but now it felt like it was season 1 and 2 NCIS it felt good to see the A team again Tony Kate Abby and Gibbs.

I thought last night show was the greatest i've every seen it tells like gibbs life from start to finish and all the character who have been on the show. It was good to see mike franks again and Shannon and Kelly the cast and writers and producers and all the other people who work so hard to make the show so great and the end was just super just right for the 200th show!!!!

First of all, Congratulations to NCIS on 200 excellent episodes! I love the show. i'm currently watching season 8 on DVD because of lack of television during that season. Gibbs would not be the Gibbs we love if he didn't make the decisions he made. I love how Mike Franks was there and his mother, and kelly and shannon. they all pointed out all the good he's done even though he lost them. the fact that tony and kate were married and having a baby threw me for a loop. they had chemistry when they worked together and to see that play out in a what if scenario, was awesome. McGee and Abby happy together was odd because i felt like they had more of a brother/sister bond than a romantic bond. the decisions we make today make us who we are tomorrow and in the future. very strong message in the episode there. Seriously who knew that Palmer had abbs, I loved that line as I was thinking the same thing. Palmer was looking pretty good there. Sasha and Tony, they were more like a brother and sister relationship, never felt that anything was really there, like a love connection. Still would love to see him end up with Ziva, I think that would be the "grown up" thing for Tony to do as he is working on his bucket list. I loved to see Gibbs at the diner and greeting people as he went in; nice to know that he doesn't sit at home by himself at night. Shannon started calling him Gibbs when she first met him. It was in a flashback when he went back home and they were waiting on the bus or train to leave. It is always great seeing Mike Franks, hated to see him leave but it too was a well done show.

this was very anticapated by me and the end was: aww, that was sweet! I loved it! But then again, I watch it every time it is on- even though I have seen it many times before.

@Sharon Hi Sharon! I always enjoy your comments. Don't worry; Wendy is NOT the "one that got away" from anyone. If Tony and Wendy were meant to actually be together, they would have gotten married, period . He wouldn't have let anything stop him from being with her if that was THE woman he truly loved. But Tony is not ready for the "Endgame" as far as a REAL relationship goes. He's still too busy trying to play the Aging Playboy andskirt-chasing college girls. I have no desire to see a 45-50 yr old man playing the field because he's too scared to settle down. As for Ziva, she deserves a man who's not AFRAID to be honest with himself and love her the way she deserves. If that's how they want to portray Tony, then Ziva can do 100x better than HIM!!

After having seen the previous 199 episodes I can honestly say that the 200th was by far the worst episode they've made.

Have to watch this multiple times, I think, to get it all - so much going on! So well done as always! For me the essence of the show can be summed up with Gibbs comment "who knew jimmy had such abs'! That's typical NCIS - notice all the little things and mention them!!! Here is to many many more episodes! Thank you NCIS for the hours of entertainment and professionalism!

I agree with challon, EXCELLANT!!! My husband was very tired last nite and said he thought this episode was going to be predictable, so he went to sleep. This morning he asked me how the show went, was it boring and predictable as he thought??? Ha, ha!!! The joke was on him, when I told him all the "what if's" he was so disappointed that he had missed this episode! I wish I had recorded it so I could watch it over, I know I missed some of the dialog. I only have two complaints about the show, they killed off Mike Franks, I loved that character, and the background music is so loud sometimes that I can't make out everything that the actors say. But NCIS is by far the BEST show on TV!!! And I LOVE Mark Harmon!

I thought it was a great episode. Just love Mark Harmon (always have). He is such a good actor. Loved seeing some of the previous characters, especially Mike. Hated it when they killed him off. I have no problem with Ziva and Tony getting together, nor with Abbey and Tim doing the same. Absolutely love McGee! Also love Gibbs and Ducky. So glad that Palmer is still on the show, he is a cutie. Congrats on the 200th episode. KEEP THEM COMING!!!
A truly Gibbs-worthy show, one I'll watch again and again. Mark Harmon certainly has proved himself an excellent actor over the years and seems to be a person I'd like to know. Very few actors would I say that about, another being David MacCallum (Ducky).
The actors on NCIS feel like family and watching all the "what ifs" last night was fun and thought-provoking. The episode was well-conceptualized and written with many surprises, like seeing Gibbs mother. For those who didn't like it, why did you continue to watch? Something most people treasured you called trash. Don't write if you can't write constructively.
BTW, rolfing is a great deep, deep massage technique that can be quite painful, but works well to stretch and massage the actual muscles not just the top layer right under the skin.
And yes, here's to another 200 shows. Let's face it, Mark Harmon just gets better looking as the years roll by. Oh yeah, I do like my eye-candy.

Congratulations on 200 episodes. This is without a doubt the best show on TV. Tonights episode was amazing. The expression on Jethro's face when he saw Shannon and Kelly was priceless, he truly was able to show his love for his family. Mark Harmon did a great job as always. Loved seeing his Mom and his best friend Mike Franks. The cast should be so proud, they all are wonderful actors. Here's hoping for 200 more.

Wow! This episode blew me away. Emotions ran the gamut- laugh, cry , surprise, you name it. Mark Harmon is on hell of an actor. I've been watching him since Flamingo Road and St. Elsewhere. All the cast were fabulous as well. Loved seeing Mike Franks again. What a moment when Gibb's mom turned around and the look on his face! Thank you, writers and actors! Here's to another 200! Oh, and Tony saying 'Tiva' to Ziva was classic!!

I believe Kate was just voice over. The image was from the episode "SWAK". You could tell Jenny Shepard was a digital image. I loved the show. I have watched it 5 times already. In Gibbs alternate life Rule # 12 was definitely out the window. Mark Harmon was brilliant as always. That basement scene was so far from normal Gibbs. I was shocked. As soon as his mom appeared, so did the tears. Thank you NCIS cast and crew. Keep up the great work. This fan isn't going anywhere.

@chris - no offense but who are you to say who is a long time fan or not or how they should act - long time fans doesn't have to have all the DVDs to be a fan - and clearly you are not a long time fan as this episode's deep meaning seems to have have skipped over your head - maybe it just wasn't action enough for you? Too much actual thinking? Don't go judging others unless you want others to judge you. A fan is a fan -DVD or not.
Anyways- onto more important things - did anyone see Agent Pacci? Because the actor's name was listed in the guest credits and was shown on the show but I did not see Pacci anywhere!

Just super, very, very well done. I saw the ads and previews for this episode and wondered how this whle thing would play out and I loved it. Seeing Muse Watson again, I liked Mike Franks and was annoyed when they killed him off. I loved seeing the Mexican drug lord that Gibbs killed walk through as well. As for Kelly and Shannon, well I believe that Gibbs would rather have suffered through their loss than them suffering through losing him. It is that whole noble Gibbs thing. Oh, Gibbs Mom showing up was perfect, how many of us with dead parents wouldn't love a chance to chat with them. I though the pie bit was perfect,it reminded me of cinnamon toast with the crust cut off from my childhood. This show could keepgoing foryears, andI hope it does.

@ Michael Shut up please. Kate is dead. There is a reason she is no longer on the show. Tony deserves someone alive because I am almost positive that he is not a necrophiliac. Stop living in the first two seasons.

It was really good to see the reason why Gibbs did what he did and the "What if". Then with the understory of the actual case gave cause to his "rethinking", I often wondered in those episodes that drove Gibbs for an answer what he was thinking. Plus with the hidden story of Tim being offered the position in Japan and then declining it with the line "there is so much more I can do here" echoed Gibbs own story and how he has affected his team individually.
Over all it is a well written episode with a good tie to lose ends. I'm looking forward to 200 more.
