Congratulations, on ncis 200 ep. Tonights show gave us all something . Yes it was all based on another form. In all it did answer to me a lot of What if's. This epidsode shows how perfectly all come together to a make a truly great show. The additon of the guest stars were perfect. and only Mike Franks (MUSE WATSON) could put all of this togther As Gibbs mentor and friend. I only wish Mike was still around . As the for the rest it all fit down to Kelly and Shannon. Gibbs went on in life. Gibbs being Gibbs was brought full circle. You can;t have it all. They shot for the brass ring and won . EXCELLANT.

I loved the fact Kate and tony got married and had a daughter named Kelly. I love three characters on the show and one of them is dead . All in all I loved the episode

it was weird with Kate using the clip from SWAK talking to tony in the hospital. it felt forced and just awkward. or was that the whole point of it all? yeah, probably. i'm glad it was just all in Gibb's mind.

  4. Sigmund Freud's Significant Other

Gibbs' mother was a redhead. With the exception of the blonde Army Colonel with the lesbian vibe, Gibbs' likes to shag redheads. Hmmm...

Also, why does Gibbs' mother call him "Jethro," but his father calls him "LeROY?"

    Nice show thanks for sharing.........

Great Great episode. I can understand why some people dont like it, because it didnt follow the standard procedural swing. Bringing back Kate was great even if it was some remastered stuff. I always thought Weatherly had more chemistry with Sasha over Cote.

All in all a very great ride through the life of Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

Who on earth is calling for NCIS to end???? You don't end the number one drama on TV when it's still number one! And NCIS is going from strength to strength - just look at tonight's episode! I LOVED the Tiva line from Tony. That broke me up. The usual excellent understated performance from MH. I'm so tired of these brilliant actors being overlooked at Emmy time. Both MH and MW are equally deserving of an award for their acting in this series.

Sasha Alexander obviously did not film the scene - that's why she barely spoke in it. It was some digitally remastered old footage, she looks very different now.

I think this episode was amazing. Mark Harmon should win an EMMY for this episode-he expressed so many emotions so well. This is a show I never miss and this episode was just a culmination of the previous 199. I hope this show continues for another 200 episodes. The writing seems to get better each year and the acting has always been good and just keeps getting better-and it is a "safe" program. Don't have to worry about there being anything that I would be ashamed to see. And Mark Harmon gets better looking as he ages.

For goodness sake, please all go and find "Sliding Doors" and watch a fantastic should-not-be-missed movie!

And, yes, this was a terrific episode!
Tony & Kate? Never - but it was fantasy.
Tony & Ziva? Horrible as well. But we all have opinions don't we?

@Sue Ann, I don't want the show to end either but I really think they will stop after ten seasons. JAG lasted ten seasons so thinking they will do the same with NCIS. Also, it is better to go out on top and be remembered for being a ratings powerhouse than to have CBS cancel if the ratings go low. Friends and The X-Files did this and both shows did it to go out great. Another tidbit, all of the cast's contracts are up for renewal or extension at the end of ten seasons. I mean all of them. MW, PP, SM, and DmC all signed up for three year extensions at the end of season 7 and MH and CdP did two year extensions at the end of 8. That is one of the main reasons I think they will go out in style

One thing that made upset at the end of the show was the promo for next week. How can they say that Tony still has feelings for Wendy when he fell for Jeanne, dated EJ and had "discuss Paris" and "tell her" on his bucket list (both of those about Ziva). TPTB finally walk Tiva forward two steps then have them go back five. Makes no sense. One thing I have noticed on the message boards and comments is that whether you or pro or anti Tiva, 90-95% of fans are completely against bringing Wendy into the picture. I watched an interview with one of TPTB and she commented how they monitor message boards and read comments from fans. If this is true, then they should see how much Wendy being brought in is irritating fans. It said she was a potentially recurring character and hopefully they will notice the dislike the fans are venting. TPTB ended M. Allison Hart's run with no explanation. Fans had gotten tired of her. Just hoping TPTB do the same with Wendy, one episode will be enough.

I really do not want to see this series end. Going out on top is one thing, (like Mary Tyler Moore) and going out ON TOP, number 1, is a whole 'nother thing. It would be professionally foolish for the NCIS cast and crew, and it would be foolish for CBS, to end this show.

I thought they knocked it into orbit tonight, not just out of the park. Very excellent!

That Tiva reference was awesome! And where did Palmer get his abs from? Moving bodies in the morgue?

Steve, I love your summary and analysis of NCIS200. I have been a NCIS fan since the early episodes, and this was truly an great episode. Mark Hammond God Bless him, his face, his emotions, his reactions with every character he encountered, what an amazing actor. I don't have to say much you said it all in your article. Hear hear for another 200 episodes.
PS. It is a shame the Sasha did not participate, that would have make it perfect.

I know there are calls for the show to wrap up, but I honestly don't think people have thought it through. The only way to wrap this show is for everyone go their separate ways, leaving Gibbs alone again, or having Gibbs killed, which will let the others to go their separate ways because lets face it, the only thing keeping the team together is personal loyalty to Gibbs. Tony has been offered his own team at least once, Tim has been offered heaps of other positions over the years - Okinawa is just the latest, Abbey the same, Ducky should have retired by now, and Ziva would have a lot of opportunities with her background. Of course it would be nice to see Gibbs run off with some brunette (enough with the hair thing!), retire to the beach and take in foster kids or something, but I just don't think that will ever be on the cards, even with tonights epiphany! So unless you want to see Gibbs alone again or dead, I think the show needs to continue for a long time!

Great 200th Episode salute to itself. 5 stars! Sure, it was a change of pac. It still worked wonderfully for what it was. As noted often in this blog, this has been the season that Gibbs has seemed to appreciate more than ever his father role for Abby, Tim and Tony, and now he can more guiltlessly enjoy his life. I think this bodes well for future episodes.

We watch this all the time, even reruns time after time. Hated this one. Hope this is not a preview to future episodes.

Overall I liked this episode a lot. One thing though is how many guest stars they had in it. I loved seeing Fornell, Ari, Mike Franks, etc, but having so many made it seem cramped and didn't give them enough screen time each. One thing that made me kinda cringe and go "oh hell no" is that they had Tony and Kate be married. That was just creepy to me. There relationship was more brother/sister like, not romantic. And if you look back at the first two seasons, they never had a romantic connection or chemistry between them. I have been watching the show since it started and never once did I think that "Tate" would happen nor need to happen. Other than that, I enjoyed the episode and thought it was a great tribute to the cast who have made us loyal fans look forward to every new episode. And it was a reward for those of us who have been watching since the beginning.

  20. kay

see grey's anatomy? THIS is how you do a what if episode.

  21. tania

I liked the episode. seeing Kelly Shannon with Gibbs and she tells him that it would have been us with out you. Sasha was not there it was an old scene from Swak s2e22. they did the same with Jen it went by so fast but they showed a flashback of herin diner.

  22. Michael

You know if Sasha Alexander had not left NCIS that what the ending was suppose to be according to sasha herslef. I think it was so sweet for the NCIS fan that we got to see Kate and Tony married I think NCIS knew how unhappy we have been with the way they been treating Tony so it was nice to get something good for a change.

I think these was basic off of a movie where a man want to end his life but a Angle comes and show him how imporanet he is

All and all sound like it was a Good one can not wait to watch it

  23. Don

Walked away from the show at Kate/Tony's kid. What crap. And I live for this show week to week, and watch re-runs ad-infinitum on USA and cloo. Tonight was a colossal waste of time.

  24. Seda

I might be mistaken but Sasha Alexander did not shoot that scene. It originally belonged to a previous episode of NCIS. It was from the episode SWAK, (S2E22).

  25. Crystal

Nope! Sasha wasn't there. They took her image from SWAK. How amazing were the special effects!
