Desperate Housewives Review: And Baby Makes... Trouble

at . Comments

Now, that’s what I’m talking about. That was seriously one heck of a Desperate Housewives episode.

With baby drama, creepy and psychotic Orson, Ben’s scary loan shark, some answers to our dozens of questions and more, what was there not to love?!

Shocked Renee

Oh, wait… I can think of one situation I didn’t care too much for: Susan’s relentless willingness to want to play such a vital role in her daughter’s child’s life. Sure, I understood that Susan just wants to be a grandmother and hopes that Julie will come around to wanting to be a part of her daughter’s life, but you’d think Susan would try a little harder to understand what Julie wants.

I couldn’t help wondering why Susan was trying so hard with Porter when she hardly tried to smooth things out with Julie. Also, I can’t imagine that Julie would ever want to visit again after giving up her child only to see her baby at her own mother’s home. After everything that was said between Susan and Julie recently, I really wanted to see Susan fully support her daughter regardless if she disagreed.

With soon-to-be grandmas Susan and Lynette bickering away, I laughed every time Porter was so convincingly clueless. I also loved the paralleled scenes with Tom talking to Susan and then Mike talking to Lynette, both trying to remind them of what was really important among all of the baby drama.

Meanwhile, I wholeheartedly agreed when Roy asked Gaby if she ever thought of anyone but herself. Then again, I was so glad that Gaby went against Mrs. McCluskey’s wishes and told Roy about her cancer. Both Mrs. McCluskey and Roy are so darn sweet.

By the way, how heartbreaking was that scene with Roy telling Gaby never to take a loved one for granted? I couldn’t help but tear up, too.

Elsewhere: Renee was learning the meaning behind “no good deed goes unpunished." Ben’s loan shark didn’t care if Renee had already settled Ben’s debt. He wanted more money and made it clear that he was willing to do whatever it took to get it. I really wished that Mike hadn’t confronted that jerk, and am now worried for both Renee and Mike.

Finally, I’ve buried the lead and saved the best for last: Orson, the man with a plan, actually confessed to Bree about writing the mysterious letters and killing Chuck. He even tried to explain he did everything he could to protect Bree and was willing to do anything to keep her all to himself. Did you catch all of the news clippings and pictures he had? What a psycho!

I appreciated that the writers finally gave us the answers we have been waiting for nearly all season long. Thanks to Orson’s anonymous envelope sent to the Fairview police, there will be nothing but destruction left behind. I have no idea how much information Orson sent, but I’m betting it’s enough for the police to start questioning Bree about Chuck’s death.

I laughed some, shed a tear or two, and even gasped several times. Now there are only six remaining installments leading up to the two-hour series finale in May. Let’s hope that the remaining episodes follow suit and are just as spectacular as "She Needs Me."

So, what did you think, TV Fanatics? What exactly do you think Orson sent the Fairview police? Who won’t make it to the series finale?

@Alex Yes, the whole thing was bad. I just commented on one part.

and i mean what does susan think is going to happen? I really really really hope that Julie stays to her point - like i said she wants it she should do it, and then the baby comes - they fight about it? or Julie gives them the baby and then its gonna live at susans house or what??? sooo stupid and i cant believe that lynette is not saying anything against it

I HATE SUSAN - god she is sooo stupid and selfish - i dont care if susan and lynette are friends again. it is JULIES baby - not Susans baby. And i would be soooo angry with her. And Mike - what an idiot - he should tell Susan that she should leave her daughter alone cause its her thing. I love DH at the moment, but susan annoyes me sooo much - i could turn of the tv everytime. If Julie is just gonna be finde with everything after a few episodes and is going to have a lovely talk with her mom and says: ooh yeah you were right i want this baby bla bla bla - im gonna be so angry and dissapointed - she wants to give it away - SHE SHOULD DO IT - its not a comedy, its a drama and things like that happen - susan makes me just soo angry

Nope its not carlos or gaby or andrew or bree who die because on wikipedia it says they're still alive after that episode. Its probably McCluskey because she asks bree to help commit suicide, but im not entirely sure :)

I really can't with Susan. I get that she wants to be a grandmother, but she's just being hysterical and selfish. How nice to take care of the baby your daughter doesn't want, this way everytime she's home you'll rub the child in her face, how thoughtful and sensitive.

The person who is killed off is Carlos, on imdb, they listed mama solis and rex as guest stars for the flashback episode about the dead person, so it´s between Carlos, Andrew or Gabi, out of the three Mr Solis is the winner

I was disappointed that Bree and Orson didnt get to Maine..I was looking forward to some Maine Mayhem.... it was touching to see some bonding again between Gaby and Carlos and Karen and Roy ( lol I just realized after all this time the latter are the same names as my sister an brother-in-law) ... DHW has been my guilty pleasure..thru out thee years..

@fortyseven All Orson had to do was tell Bree that he threw out that hat. Or that he lost it. Broke it. Whatever. Then she would have said "boo-hoo" and driven off to buy a new hat. They made it seem it was impossible to avoid going to his apartment. That's ridiculous. Dumb writing right there.

P.s That was a great show last night! I loved the suspension of what was going to happen with Bree/Orson! and we still had the drama of Renee/mobster guy and the comedy of Susan/Lynette with the bassinet moving back and forth!

I'm thinking it's RENEE. It already showed her and Mike picking up pieces of broken stuff at the very end (at least I think that was Mike with her!) so I think maybe that mobster guy will kill her off!
Another reason I think it might be her is A) Mrs. Mcklusky is too obvious and B)I think they'll keep the main 4 core until the end!
Oh and C) Tom is on vacation with the kids so that doesn't seem likely but who knows........ !!
