Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Scoop: Secrets and Swans

by at . Comments

SPOILER ALERT: Stop reading now if you have not yet watched last night's season two finale of Pretty Little Liars.

So... are you satisfied? On this wildly-hyped concluding episode, we learned the identity of A. Sort of.

Masks and Mystery

But is Mona really A? Was the reveal a cop-out because now the show will just turn its attention to a new stalker (B?) on season three, which kicks off on June 5? Or a series of stalkers, all members of Team A? Creator Marlene King answered a few pressing questions in a post-finale interview with Entertainment Weekly...

Why Mona? "She really wanted to get Hanna back all to herself. Mona hates Hanna the most because the other three were Allison’s friend, but Hanna was her friend. She feels the most personally betrayed by Hanna.”

Who else is on Team A? “I don’t think anyone should assume anything...  we’re going to have the Pretty Little Liars and everyone keep a little bit of radio silence on the tweeting until we come back because we really want people to be surprised with what season 3 of the show is.”

Come on. Just a bit of season 3 scoop please? Okay...

  • Mona will still be around.
  • We'll meet members of Ezra's family.
  • The question of whether Alison's death and Maya's death is related will be addressed.
  • What about the Black Swan? "That’s a mystery that’s coming back,” King says. “Who was that person talking to Jenna and Lucas? And who is the Black Swan?”
  • Garrett will remain in jail for Allison’s murder.
  • The NAT club will play a key role.
  • And who was the person in red? "Red is the new black," King simply says.

What did you think of the A reveal? Were you happy with it?

I dont understand why Mona would have had it in for Alison before she died as Alison was obviously getting taunted by A before she was killed. She wasnt friends with Hannah until after she died when the group of friends separated for that reason, so it doesnt make sense that she has always been A! So many other characters had better motives for hating all the girls.. and why was "A's" lair all aimed at Alison and Alisons death if Mona just had a problem with Hannah and her leaving her, surely it would be a room dedicated to Hannah..

Yes indeed, we didn't knew for sure is the body that was found is Maya's. But now we do, at least according to this review it is Maya's body.
This episode really disappointed me. I did not want them to follow the storyline of the book and now they did. Mona isn't dead, but she was A. Or at least one of the A's. There is definitely not just one A. Mona constantly kept talking about 'we' and 'the A-team'. And then there is that anonymous person visiting Mona and Mona says to him/her: "I did everything you asked me to." This means that someone gave her orders to do so. BTW that person visiting Mona is wearing a red raincoat. Doesn't that look like the one Vivian Darkbloom was wearing?
I think that the dead of Maya and Alison are related. Maybe Maya found something or the girls came to close and someone had to scare them off.
Well, I am definitely curious about what is going to happen in season 3. But please do not follow the storyline of the books again!

Whatever Marlene King. Do you really expect anyone to care now you've proven that nothing you say can be believed? Season 3 summary: Girls visit Mona in psych ward - alot - to tediously piece together that she wasn't really behind A. Girls tediously link Maya and Ali's murder through much discussion and contrived scary scenes. Girls start getting texts from A or another member of the alphabet. SPOILER: Ali's twin, Courtney, murdered her and probably Maya. All things considered, I'm sure they'll allude they have a new "twist" and then just stick with the books regardless.

I had to stop and read again too when I saw "Mona's death" and can only assume she actually means Maya's. But it's pretty clear that Mona probably isn't A or at least she isn't the only A.

I'm really sad about the way they handled it! From the reveal to the whole episode! There is an other episode missing!
They didn't gave us any answers how, she managed everything, how she knew everything! Just over the top! But they hadn't other material to make the show good so they needed AgoneHigh to come and play!

I too am confused at "the question of whether Alison's death and Mona's death is related will be addressed.". If they mean Maya, then this just confirms us of Maya's death, so at least we're prepared to see a broken down Emily again for the 20th time.

HA HA HA, I had to read it twice to understand - mona's death?? sure you mean maya...

Pretty Little Liars Quotes

You think the truth is this big shiny disco ball of purity then go ahead and try it. See what it gets you. Telling the truth to the wrong person at the wrong time is how I ended up where I did. Take it from me you're always better off with a really good lie.

Alison

Come on, giddy up little doggy.
