Betty Draper Rank: Recurring Character
April 3rd, 2012 6:52 AM
Yeah, she didn't get drunk so she could have better sex with Chuck, and I don't really remember if she even was drunk at the Victrola episode, she was just really down to anything after she and Nate split. The sex wasn't planned it was rebound sex when you think about it, it was just really good and the start of something more. And I didn't even mention Chuck so once try to defend Dair without involving Chuck.
And yeah, I love scheming Blair. I also love Blair who isn't married to one guy one week, in eternal love with another the next and after that ends up with somebody totally else the week after. And I also love Blair who wouldn't date the guy who is the love of her best friend's life. So no, for me Blair is changing for worse.
And I'm sorry if I take the opinion of the person who made Blair the character everyone loves most on this show cause I read the books and Tv and book Blair were the same until Dan and Louis came in the picture accept that her love of her life was Nat

It makes me so happy seing Blair so carefree with Dan, having normal problems, and acting like her age. She hasn't been like this with anyone. Seeing both Dan and Blair young, drunk and inlove is such a breath of fresh air.
@Betty Draper Michy has a point, she was drunk when she slept with Chuck... And she regretted it the next day... And isn't Blair changing for the better? I think she has moved on with scheming and playing games. But hey, if that’s the reason why you loved the character of Blair then I respect it.
FYI: The books and the series are totally DIFFERENT. Why did the writers decide that they will go with DAIR? Isn’t it because of the chemistry that they saw between Penn and Leighton?

Poor blair she has had a tough year , miscarriage, the prince, the accident, finding and losing chuck shes reached rock bottom, she will climb her way out, and into chucks arms! It will happen. Dont worry dair shippers they will part amicably and still be friends! You will still see their awesome chemistry when they are just that.

Did Cecily say that because in the books Blair is with Nate and on screen they have zero chemistry. And CHuck was gay in the books.
I actually like the chemistry between blair and dan, but thought how they wrote their storyline this episode was cliche and bad.

LMAO at people quoting Cecily van Ziegesar. The same who said "if I was a GG character, I would be Blair to marry Dan" ??? And by the way, there is a huge difference between a book and a show with real characters.
Penn and Leighton have an amazing chemistry and Dan and Blair are together.
Deal with it haters!

@Cstrol she wasn't. In a previous tweet she said
''The B I know and love would want her first time with D to be in a really nice hotel suite, not B-burg.''
I don't know what you read in that, I read that she feels Blair is out of character and she doesn't like it. Just like me.
I really can't stand them two together but that's not the point, the point is that Blair isn't the Blair I loved for 4 seasons, just bring her back with or without Chuck, Dan or whoever. Blair getting drunk to sleep with somebody really is just ewww.
@Betty Draper Maybe she was talking about Nate and Lola... :) All I can say is that I would rather watch the development of Dan and Blair's relationship rather than Nate and Lola... Just saying...

I only enjoyed the DAIR moments, Jack Bass and William's voice.
Dan and Blair are the only saving grace of the show right now. The other story lines are a complete disaster filled with plot holes. Wish the writers would give more screen time to Dair, and maybe give them a chance to win over some of the reasonable naysayers.

The only thing I enjoyed this episode was Jack Bass. His quotes were hilarious.
Chuck: I had an interesting conversation with Nate.
Jack: Did he finally confessed his true feelings for you?
Oh and about Blair and Dan.. Cecily van Ziegesar told it all in her tweet last night: NO CHEMISTRY. For those of you who don't know she invented Gossip girl and the characters cause she wrote the books. And I think she of all people should know who Blair is and to who she belongs to.

Dair was OMFG good. Blair needs alcohol to loosen up since her family's money is still on the line. Kind of hard to enjoy sex when the consequence of getting caught are so dire. Dan...well he was just too nervous about the whole thing. Something tells me once Blair officially gets her divorce/annulment in the next episode and the MET scene in the pink ball gown happens, it'll be smooth sailing in the sex/relationship department on all fronts.
as soon as Serena/Lily find out Lola is their sister/step daughter AND cousin/niece, they'll 'throw her out' like Ivy said. it won't be intentional...but when that happens, Lola will break from the entire family and side with Ivy. i'm really looking forward to the Diane/Lola face off next week. i also think at some point Lola will find out Nate/Serena dated when the NJBC start working together again, and she'll get jealous.

I'm sorry TV Fanatic but are you becoming one of those sites where they support Dair? There wasn't anything hot about that scene, it was awful. The most I can recognize, is that of the 2 of them, Blair played a better drunk. Also, many girls took offense in the fact that when Dan went to Nate for support, and Nate quickly figured out that the problem was bad sex, Dan's first reaction was "Oh, it happened to you too? That's great, it means is her". That was a douchey move in many people's eyes.
Shipping aside, the show is also wrong in other stories. Some are offended about the lightly, almost dismissive mention of Hepatitis C as Jack's disease while Dair has what it looked like unprotected sex in an elevator and an alley. Also, can someone verify if it's realistic that the school you went to prevents you from donating blood?
@ latinalover: for DS recent reference, watch 4x12 The kids are not allright, sink or swim scene.

To finish my post:
Oh Chuck. He still wins for being the most crapped on. The love of his life is going through an awful phase to the point where she is almost unrecognizable, he is still all alone and constantly drinking and now one of his few remaining blood relatives has an STD.
Ivy is almost as annoying as season 5 DHUMPs. I know that she took care of Cece while she was dying but I still don't think it's fair to the rest of the Rhodes women that a stranger gets to keep their inheritance. Lily should have at least gotten a cut as she was a loyal daughter. Oh and I always thought she was close to Serena and Eric so one would think she would include at least her grandchildren in her will.
I really hope the episodes get better as we near the end of the season but I will not hold my breath.

This episode was boring for me.
I can't believe Dan and Blair had been dating a month and they still had not had sex - I am all for waiting until the right time and all but it just sounded like things got in their way, even Cedric - I guess even the Universe supports Chair! Anyway, I thought their sex scenes lacked chemistry and I found myself fast forwarding through them. The zipper opening and chest licking was just too awkward.
I just felt so bad for Serena this episode. She is having major family issues, the love of her life is a douche who treats her like crap AND one of her closest friends fires her. Oh and also, GG wants her website back. Her character is getting crapped on almost as badly as they crap on Chuck.

Is it me or is William treating Lola way batter than he ever treated Serena or Eric? I loved Dair this episode I'm hoping they'll actually last. I'm hoping Ivy keeps everything, lily doesn't deserve to get Cece's inheritance no matter what Ivy was with her through her illness , plus Ivy suffered a lot and only wants a family but obviously Lily and Serena won't accept her, so she does have point when she said that they're selfish and no wonder Cece left everything to her. I'm really hoping Ivy keeps everything.
