CW is the leftovers of the merger from WB and UPN(that is, channels that WERE great) when the channels were on the verge of bankruptcy. its quite MINOR network relying on small budget shows aiming at young-teenager audience and a lot of those shows get universally panned by critics. From time to time the channel might chunk out something great(first season of tvd), but most of times critics approach CW shows very cautiously.

Maybe if there was less Klaus/originals and more Tyler/Forwood the ratings would be better.
considering it averaged around 3.6-3.8 during the second season's best days and currently barely grabs 2.5 and latest epsidoe has been the series all time low, its only logical that with this kind of "quality" continuing the show would drop to around 1.0 in two seasons, to the point when CW just does not gain profit from renewing it.

I like his answer about how long TVD will last. Its realistic and not "oh we'll see how it goes". I too think they show will probably last two more seasons and then it should END.
Frankly with the way ratings have been declining and just how much quality of the show has dropped in last season, I would be REALLY REALLY surprised on if TVD lasted for longer than two more seasons.
I can not see him as Damon or Stefan. I guess he was being funny when he said Stefan..is it? It is interesting that he only sees the show lasting 3 more seasons. It sounds like he and Matt are close. Then when he said that if the cast was on the Hunger Games that Paul would die first, is he calling Paul a wimp or is he saying that everyone else is violent and Paul is not...either way the answer was funny.
