NCIS Review: A Slow Burner Comments (Page 3)

Personally I was thinking the puberty comment instantly just like Ziva did. I don't get the bashing of her for saying it. For all the people who still dislike her just because she took "replaced" Kate, you know Kate would have said the exact same thing and the same people would be talking about how funny it was. Honestly I think Tony would be disappointed if someone hadn't taken that opportunity. Tony make it his mission to keep thinks loose and in good spirits in the bullpen. Sure it goes too far sometimes, but every one of the characters are guilty of it at times.

Absolutely loved Rekindled. The Tony/Jason story was touching, the elevator scene was great. The actor who played Jason did a great job, and I loved the way he and Abby worked together. It was wonderful to see a good, solid NCIS episode - so much better than the crappy episodes with JLC. When she's on there is not enough attention on the team and NCIS is a team show - they shouldn't have to take a back-seat to a guest star. (climbing down off the "I Don't Like Dr Ryan" soapbox)

I've said it before and I'll say it again. WTF Ziva. Why is she constantly putting Tony down? I would not be opposed to a ship exploading while she is on it.

I really enjoyed most of last night's episode. I'm tired of the obligatory humiliate Tony scenes, that it seems must be inserted into every episode now. And of course we had our mandatory snarky "puberty" comment from Ziva. The first half was slow and a little dull. The second half picked up. The scenes between Tony and Gibbs (small as they were), the scenes with Jason and Abby, McGee actually having a back bone, were nice. The elevator scene with Tony and Jason was quite moving. I wish they'd keep giving us team episodes like this one in the season finale arc this year, but fear another Gibbs and Ziva angstfest, just like last year's finale, since Dr. Ryan and Monique are returning. Don't the writers understand that Tony, Abby, McGee, Ducky, and Palmer also have fans who would like to see their favorites have some multi episode finale drama too?

I thought that last nights episode was really slow. Not enough action these days and not enough TIVA. sorry but thats what i think?!?!?!

Rekindled was a great episode i loved the naval crime solving, jason character worked well with the cast i love to see him as a regular

This was a 5 start ep IMO. What a great episode, the guy from the wiring company was so convincingly a haughty pain in the a@@ and provided the humor, but Tony was wonderful and honest and heartbreaking. I don't tear up for NCIS very often, actually I yelled at the TV when Kate was killed, but this time the Tony/kid in elevator scene was awesome. I knew the Phantom Eight would be around at the end of the season, they are the ultimate Black Ops with no oversight kind of group that every government has and every government denies. Very exciting and who but Abby would give the automatic hug when the kid said he'd been in a fire? Loved everything in this episode.

YES I think the writers are back on track again. Such a good episode and I'm sure the end of the season will leave us all hanging again anxiously waiting to see what happens in the first episode of the new season.
I am glad to see the regular cast being featured again after all that's what makes this show the jewel that it is. I agree with the comment about this show ever going off. I realize there will be reruns, thank goodness, but there's not a lot out there to watch right now. The Closer and In Plain Sight are heading out unfortunately so it's getting to the point where there's a lot of reality shows UGH!!!!!! Guess I'll be doing more reading unless tv improves.

NCIS LA is very good and I like it but I love NCIS so please writers continue to produce good stories featuring the cast so many of us love.

Nate they don't work in the spy business they work for the Naval

Speaking of did everyone see the SPOILER about who coming back OMG i can not believe it I can't wait

I enjoyed reading the review as usual. Good solid ep, but not "5-star worthy" for me (haven't had one THAT good in awhile)as I wasn't on the edge of my seat as in the Brennan days, but still good. King acted the way a guest star SHOULD; he did not detract from the main cast. Tony annoyed me greatly in the 1st half for being such a Dunce. In real life he would have been BENCHED (and Gibbs was ready to) for wearing new/inappropriate footwear to a crime scene. He should know better by now. But the 2nd half was much better; loved hearing the Jason/Tony backstory. As for Ziva/Tim/Tony/Abby "already knowing" stuff about each other - well..um..yeah; they work in the SPY business. They have constant access to info so they SHOULD already know most of the time.

This was an awesome episode. It was so nice not having a "big name actor", and just the team. McGee is back!!!! He is looking healthy and sounding better. He's my favorite. It's so nice to see positive comments about the show rather than arguing about Tiva and Ribbs. Keep up the good work it really makes a difference to us!!!

  12. Alisa

i admitt NOT watching last night....mainly because, i've gotten SICK of tony being the BUTT of everyone's joke, the LACK of RESPECT from gibbs and the other team members.....gibbs NOT showing his 2nd in command the RESPECT he deserves for putting up with his crap for 10yrs. tony would NOT still with NCIS if he wasn't GOOD at his job.

Good writing. After such a long run the show still has good legs. Keep up the good work. Bravo Zulu!

This was a good episode-It's nice to be able to write that!!This is how you use a guest star. Jason did not take away from the team-he helped them. For me this was a team episode. It was good to see Abby and McGee have more to do.Enjoyed how McGee and Ziva asked Tony about what happened and were very proud of him-as they should be.
Loved the elevator scene between Tony and Jason-MW was amazing!!

    @ Melissa

Part two is called "Playing with Fire." It will be aired on May 1.

My only real issue with this episode was the creepy imprisoned, 'Magic' arsonist. The one who is over the top, at one with the mystical spirituality, anthropomorphic nature and 'perfection' of fire. It's been done, and done again.
But this is a minor complaint, and even with the technical infractions, i.e. burning all that thermite in the lab, etc. I still enjoy the show.
Of course it wouldn't be Wednesday if I didn't complain about Abby not being allowed to grow up. She's a smart, beautiful woman, perfectly at ease with herself, why does she still need to bother with the goth/punk thing?

You know uss Biddle we don't care that you dumped NCIS why did you write unless you watch it. well 18 million people do watch it every week and 30+ million world wide watch it so don't tell us your troubles!!!

Steve, who is editor of TV Fanatic, PLEASE get a new reviewer for Glee, I beg you...that Matt guy hates every episode and everything about Glee, yet he supposedly is "reviewing" each episode, when all he does is complain, with nary a kind word for what is an awesome musical show. Please get someone who is from the Midwest and who was actually in a Glee club, or who understands musical theater, please.
Anyway, on to NCIS, which was wonderful this week. Though I am not a fan of Tony DiBozo, I did feel that Weatherly did an excellent job on this episode with his character...especially in the elevator at the end. I loved seeing Ducky, Abby and McGee, my favorites, work their magic on the evidence, as usual. This show is so well done, I can't imagine them taking it off the air eventually. I think it will go down in TV history as one of the most iconic shows to grace the small screen

Not my favorite one other than seeing a part of Tony I never saw before. I didn't like how they ended it with that threat plus another bomb on the ship and a no 2 prater or new episode next week. So will they just drop this and bring something new to the table? or continue on with this story? I never was left like that watching this show before I was so disipointed. no new one till may 1st??? please tell me its a 2nd one to this one!!!

This episode was simply superb. Such a beautifully crafted superbly acted episode.. the Tony and Jason stuff was just amazing.

  21. Mel

Really enjoyed this ep. The first half was a bit slow, but the secend half picked up and everything clicked into place. I find it telling that Tony shows the team (and the world) his silly, squishy side, but hides the noble, heroic parts of himself. Michael Weatherly was amazing, peeling down another layer of his character, in a lovely nuanced performance. Loved Ziva and McGee hearing about the kid episode from Tony, instead of them already being aware of it (as with Tony turning down Rota, and his engagement to Wendy), and their supportive, show of empathy after hearing the story. This was a perfect little coda to the Baltimore/Wendy/kid backstory that's been played out since last season. Also loved McGee, and awesome ending!

  22. Robin

Wonderful character revelation on DiNozzo, the last scene in the elevator ROCKED!!!!!!!!! And, as a journeyman carpenter, I understood his wanting to keep the new work boots clean for at least the first day! Impossible, of course, but totally understood.

Is there a rule number for "I don't believe in coincidences." Jason and Tony just "happened" to be acquainted years ago?

  24. Tom in TX

It's always a little hokey to see a flashback (on any show) where one of the star characters (ie DeNozo or a younger probie Gibbs) appears 20 years younger. It always looks goofy to see them 'made up' to 'look younger' when they only look the same - phoney. A nice touch to have a flashback, but hard to do. (eg. Revenge is another)

  25. mewofford

I thought last night was a really good episode, especially for Tony. Found myself wishing they'd delved into Ziva's past in a similar way last week rather than the mishmash that was "her" episode previous to Rekindled.

Thought Gaius Charles was a good addition and worked well with the cast. I wouldn't mind seeing him return for another visit down the road.
