Weak Finale.
May 15th, 2012 1:03 AM
Haha look at all the Chuck/Blair fans thinking that the finale was an actually good episode because they're "back together". This finale was very weak, all storylines we're poorly written and the hommage scenes to Season 1 felt like a weak attempt to make it feel like old GG (it didn't) and try to get fans to say "old GG is back" (it's not).
Next season, I hope Dan tears up the UES. That storyline will be better than what we saw this season. Also, I hope the opening scene shows that Blair/Chuck are married. I don't want to see the last episodes displaying their relationship anymore - time to move on and finish GG as strong as they can.

Lily became a villain, a really big one, and kind of gross. I want to see Ivy take her down, I think that's an interesting story line.
Now Chuck is playing hard to get??? Really??? Ugh, the utter lack of resolution is astounding.

anyways, all I want to say is, i think the show has always tried to show that Serena isn't as good as she holds herself to be- that she really carries a 'false image' of herself. and it is awful to agree with Serena's view that Blair only chose Dan because he was Serena's, that's yet again a distorted, self-centered view. if anyone has watched the show, it is clear as crystal that Blair did not 'choose' Dan because Serena loved Dan.
I'm a little dissapointed..
I so hate Bart Bass, he's changed nothing!
Serena getting refused again by Dan, no wonder the girl's back on het old tracks.
I'm excited about next season though, hope it will be like Season 1 again! C&B and S&D!

i have to say what Serena has done is not surprising.. and its not just "bad writing". Serena has always been self interests driven girl, she has done whatever that pleases her- dethroning Blair where she told penelope "from now on, i'm calling the shots" or at Eleanor's runway show where Serena told blair that she won't keep herself down anymore only shows how self-centered she has always been. the truth is she never "down-shine" herself for Blair- stealing nate, taking Blair's spot for the photoshoot in season one (she could say 'no' to Eleanor), taking the front row seat instead of keeping tradition with Blair. And to others, she appears to be a nice person, but only when it is beneficial to her- stealing other's husband, cheating on Nate with Dan who was dating Vanessa, outing Blair to Louis and Louis's mother, almost screwing her own mother when she tried to pass the false affidavit to the journalist, or saying how getting mad at Lola because Lola used her to help nate when she wa

is there any chance for blair and serena to bring back the bff status? this feel so much of a season 1. history repeating itself. i don't think b and s deserve those cold shoulders. i want them both back as much as i want chair!

The finale kicked ass. Dairs and other haters deal.
I actually really like the idea of having to watch a very trouble Serena because when she back came to new york 6 years ago, we never knew what her life was like after she ran away from Blair and Nate. So this will give us a chance to see how she picks herself up after having a meltdown.
The set up into the final season is clever imo. Everyone is like the way they were. Dan an outsider, Serena a troubled girl who ran away, Chuck dealing with his fathers backstabbing,.....
By the the last episode, they're all going to find their way/path back to each other and reunite.
Nice finale

Actually the show has never truly shown naughty drug Serena. They did flashbacks but nothing in the present. So I'm quite interested to see what old Serena was like. And jack and chuck teaming up is new too. Also it seems that Bart is the new villain. I like what's going on. But C&B together is recycled but I'm a Chair fan so it's cool although I hope they don't ruin them next season.
Also I love the Bart Bass character. I feel like they should have never killed him off, instead some family drama could have been enntertaining to see.

I have finally came to the realization and admitted that I fell out of love with this show after Season 3. Since then, it’s been completely down-hill. Nothing but crap, then crap, then more unrealistic crap piled on top. I kept watching, kept hoping, kept my fingers crossed that it would somehow turn itself around and become even HALF as amazing as it used to be. Yes sadly, even this long. Tonight’s finale confirmed it. At least with Serena snorting some drugs I got SOME recollections of what vintage GG was like. Everything else was poorly written, poorly developed, and overly-dramatic drivel.

But there just isnt any more heart in this show. If there ever was any after the middle of season 2. The whole episode was unsatisfying. I liked Dan and Blair. I rooted for them and the writers rewarded us with crap like "Despicable B" episodes. They made Dan a weak whining puppet and let Blair walk all over him. It was obvious after 20 minutes or so that Blair was going to choose Chuck. But then for the writers not to even write a break up scene?!!? Seriously? That would have been a chance for great drama. All in all these writers have proven that once your show is successful you can just ride the coattails of mediocrity until you hit just plain awful.

I normally dont post on these websites but after this season finale I have opted to break my silence. I have never felt more cheated and disappointed then I did after tonight's show. After the build up of Dan and Blair they chose to do nothing with the couple once they got together. This show does not know how to write for a couple, instead they just break up characters relationships every 5 episodes. That being said, the way they crafted the episode was terrible. Every single new plot point has already happened! They literally went into the trash of seasons past and grabbed an old storyline for each character.
Blair & Chuck yet again
Chuck scheming with Jack to take the company from his father
Serena doing drugs yet again
Dan on the outskirts
Lily and Bart together again
Nate being left by yet another girl (anyone remember Juliet or Vanessa or Jenny)
This episode set the next season up for revenge and backstabbing. But there just isnt any more heart in this show. If there e

That was the single most frustrating hour of television I have ever intentionally watched. So painfully disappointing and pitifully constructed, it’s a marvel this show is coming back at all. YouTube videos have carved out more of a cohesive narrative than this pathetic drivel. Horrified. Done.
So excited for next season! And as much as I love gossip girl I think 11 episodes is perfect because it's going to force the writers to actually be deliberate in every piece of storytelling so that it can be told in the short run, which is great considering the meandering storylines of the past two years.
Some thoughts:
CHAIR FTW! Finally Blair apologizing to Chuck for not believing in him and for being unwilling to support him and fully invest herself in their relationship! It's about time. Now they can finally be on a level playing field and go do some world dominating type things.
As for Dair - While their romantic relationship never did it for me, I appreciated their friendship and did think they deserved a bit more of a close than they got. But I think the writers finally realized that Chuck and Blair are the core of the show and knew that they had to bring things back to there.
Serena - I CAN'T WAIT to see her go off the rails. FINALLY the crazy Serena we've always hear

I'm starting think gg is Dan! Could that be possible? What do you guys think? Also I knew Blair would choose chuck and glad she having chase him now but she is horrible..they messed up her character so bad! What was the point of her throwing away her friendship w Serena for someone she didn't even love! She just used Dan and was fine w hurting s knowing s still had feelins for him? And preety much destroyed her friendship w Dan...for what?? Just to realize she always loved chuck..I like chair but all that she did to realize her love for him was not necesary

I didn't love Chuck's rejection of Blair tonight, but I understood it - much in the same way I understood Serena's actions. I love Blair, but she's been unrecognizable this season. Putting the two most important people in her life through this ridiculous Dan fiasco felt way out of character to me. Ah well. I'm looking forward to watching her do some serious groveling to both Chuck and Serena next season.

If so that would really make it interesting because that would mean he never loved Blair or Serena he was just getting dirt..I always thought it was dorota but she nor skinny..as for finale I loved the last few minutes..at least Blair finally made a choice!
