I think it was either because she had found other work or because she wanted to be with her family or probably both. I know that Chyler had been saying for a while that she wanted to spend more time with her family, and she mentioned once that one of her children is special needs I believe and I think she said another one has a health condition, so I think it was her choice to leave. I don't think Shonda would have just killed her of all people off just because. But either way it’s sad, but if she’s doing it for her kids then it’s alright. Good for Chyler , I wish her the best.

A very gruesome but disappointing finale. The writing was choppy and shoddy. The shooting episode was a better finale. The plane crash seemed like an unnecessary plot device. I am glad that Teddy is leaving. Wish April would too. Also glad that Mer & Der are not the ones dying. I wouldn't watch the show without them.

I was crying. I mean besides Arizona, Lexi is probaly my favorite. I was so so sad and screaming at Shonda for killing her. Why the hell couldn't Owen get on the plane and be crushed and die instead of Lexi. I can't stand him and as far as I know not many people like him either, so why kill a favorite and keep the douche??? Anyways, it was good cause we don't know if anyone else will die. Mark was not looking good, he is all ready to go be with Lexi in Heaven, Arizona was coughing up blood. And Owen, if he didn't have his head so far up his ass a rescue probably would have come for them. But no he didn't want any phone calls. It was a good finale, didn't out do the shooting one but it was good. I love the humor Christina can bring in those situations her and her shoe was funny. Poor Lexi

Maybe Chyler will decide she really doesn’t want to leave and Lexie will wake up or something. It is t.v after all. But the way the episode went about and the way it ended, if it isn't a dream I don't think Lexie is the only one that will have died.

I was very disappointed with this season finale. Lexie is probably my favourite character & I've always loved her love story with Mark. Killing her off in the first 20min is horrible, even though the scene with Mark was heartbreaking, the scene when Meredith finds out is just annoying. I know is GREY's anatomy, but she is definitely my least favourite character. I hope Lexie isn't dead, like some people is saying. If she's in fact dead & Cristina & Owen don't get back together.. I think I'll just give up on this for good

i just hated!!!!the minute Lexie died i lost my interest!horible end!!!what was she thinking when she wrote Lexies death????Lexie was my person and Mark+Lexie the BEST couple in all grey's.i hope she realy regret this death.i hated the episode.and i think many many people are going to be mad with this death....bravo Shonda you just lost a great deal of fans!!!!:(

Not too sad to see Lexie go, there are a lot of neurotic,babbling women on the show and she was kind of my least favorite! Her and Mark haven't been together for ages and they are no MerDer!
People stop hating on the Hunt! He is the chief, he is a tad busy at times! Plus he is miserable! I like him and Christina as a couple, their storyline was my favorite of this season

I always have been and always will be a greys fan and I think that Lexi passing will do 1 of 2 options 1: cause major drama for Meredith and her father. After all once again another family member dies in the hands of doctor Grey! Or 2: It could be a total turn around for Meredith and her father, giving her all she has been missing her entire life

I THINK IT SUCKS THAT LITTLE GREY HAD TO DIE! WHY TAKE HER WHEN SHE PLAYS A GREY ROLE. MEREDITH IS SURE TO BE DISTURBED BY NOT ONLY THE CRASH BUT LOSING HER LITTLE SISTER WHO LOVED HER DEARLY. IT WAS A VERY GOOD EPISODE, BUT DID LEXIE HAVE TO BE THE ONE TO DIE? I MEAN, GET REAL, SHE IS LOVED BY EVERYONE. BUT IT IS WHAT IT IS. NOTHING LAST FOREVER! OTHERWISE, GREAT SHOW!

Theres something wrong. The way Lexi died just didn't seem right. Like when mere drowned we all thought it was the end of the show. She was dead for what 45 minutes. Maybe she'll wake up. And seriously, someone answer that damn phone lol!! Good episode, disappointing outcome.

The season 6 finale was way better than this. Maybe all before! The first twenty minutes were okay, but the ending was just terrible...
For what it's worth, I think killing off a character is far more honorable to an actor than just writing them off. It's a clean cut and the actor/actress can even show his/her best in the dying scene. Yeah,it's really sad that Lexie's gone, but with Mark declaring his love, they have at least one good last moment together. Or can anyone say hearing a love confession before you die isn't fulfilling???
I was even more shocked,that Kim Raver won't return. One last hug and then she's gone??
Oh, and I really hope that they will pick up the series right after the accident and not weeks after it (like in the beginning of the 7th season. That was just horrible). 'Cause after this finale they really have to put it right in fall!!

Honestly I dnt think lexie is dead. They never checked her vitals. Maybe she just passed out. I read that lexie was the reason Meredith signed on for another two years. I think when help comes then they'll realize lexie is still alive and Arizona dies and Alex takes her place since he signed on for two years. They did a lot of foreshadowing when it came to Arizona and Callie. I hate for anyone of them to die cause I love them all.. Well I prolly could do without teddy and April

I don't think Lexie is truly dead. No one examined her stats and Shonda did tease that one leaves but comes back. Let's hope for all the Lexie fans that this is the case. Meredith doesn't need another death in the family.

Shonda, u dont have to kill main characyers to make one finale worth to watch.. season 7 was awesome, intense and this.. ? something missing, even too forced.. i think its too much every year with someone dying, hiting by bus, sick with cancer, bomb and so on.
just a lame ending. shame on you

Incredibly pissed with Shonda Rhimes! Like seriously, if she was going to kill off Lexie, at least her and Mark could have gotten together at some point this season. I mean that last scene was amazing but, come on, they weren't together at all this season...she spent half the time with Avery while Mark pined for her, while Mark spent half his time with Julia, while Lexie pined for him. I'm a devastated that Lexie is dead but what makes it sadder is the fact that Lexie and Mark were never given another chance this season.
P.S. sorry for the rant. I have strong feelings about this...

If someon wants to leave the show its nothing the producers can do about it so I think killing lexie off in the finale was the right choice and plus the actor who play lexie probably wanted to be the one to die in the finale I'm glad that it was her that died because I like arizona way better and all the other people and its pretty stupid to stop watching a show because one person died.
