the way i see it, Shonda kept her promise to Slexie fans. As a Slexie fan myself, i feel more satisfied with the things ending this way rather than seeing Lexie move to another hospital or go some other way. Shonda promised that Lexie and Sloan were meant to be and that they would end up together. if Chyler Leigh has her reasons for wanting out of the show, then Shonda really had no choice but to kill Lexie off, and it had to happen with all the build up of her admitting her love to Mark and all, because this way they DID end up together and they ARE meant to be; those were actually the last words of Lexie: meant to be! If Shonda had written an out for Lexie without killing her, fans would have been mad that she didnt keep her promise of them ending up together. So the only compromise between them being together and Chyler wanting out is to kill her, with Mark admitting his forever love for her on her death "bed"!

I really think I should be a writer on this page or Grey's Anatomy. What a show. Hello Everybody Patrick Demesy said this was his last season. So now we have to wait til Sept. But I bet he won't be back/ Er was on 12 seasons how long do you think this show will go. They certanily can do more. Season 9 should not be the last. I thought they were going to use Lexie and make the show more about her. I miss her. I cant wait til Sept.
I am sad that Lexie was killed off. However if Chyler wanted out which she did then it was the only way to go. I will miss her next season.

They promised a death -- promised a shocker. They should have pulled a fast one and had the plane crash victims injured but alive and killed off someone back at the hospital. Then there would be chaos at the hospital which would have been the only way to explain how the hospital and many people at the hospital didn't pay attention to the departure and never-arrival of the plane load of doctors. Okay they wanted to kill off a beloved one? Go for Webber. Go for Karev - but I guess he's the horn dog you love to hate even though they've softened him with his peds specialty. There were so many future story lines for the younger grey and not all had to be tied to her future with Mark, it seems the writers and creator see the show coming to an end and don't need to turn to younger characters to keep it going.

I did not expect Lexie to die, honestly I thought that Derek is going to get out of the picture! The end of this season was a lake of tears. I just adore this soap opera, I can relate to the characters and the lines seem so real!

Oh, why Lexie? She is the interesting and colorful character. That wasn't right.
I'm really sad that Lexie is gone, but looking back on it, I can see where they were going to do that this season. Her lack of a story line besides the Mark mess and the fact that Marc never responded to her speech are now obvious pre-cursors. What a heartbreaking end to that love story though. I was rooting for them...
I don't see how they are going to bounce back from this! George dying took the hospital a long time to bounce back from, but THIS?? This hits home in a way like no other...
It's a (drama) show for goodness sake people. We are obviously gluttens for punishment :) we fall in love with the characters as they grow up and move on (or die!)....oh well.
I love all the characters. will miss Lexie. my heart is broken for Sloan.
Some episodes are better than others.... nobody's perfect, not even Shonda :) but hey, I think she's had a pretty damn good run over the past 8 years!! If you don't like it... don't watch. it's that simple.
Keep up the good work Ms Shonda :))) I'M BUSTING FOR SEPT :)))

Thought the finale was good. Hated to see Lexie die. REALLY hated the commercial breaks every 7 minutes--it was ridiculous.

What an episode...I always loved Lexie and I am very sad about her death. I mean come on, first she found her love in Mark, then his daughter and granddaughter came and they broke up. After that she starts a realtionship which ends with her boyfriend (Avery) choosing her true love(Mark) over her. And when she finally admits to herself and Mark that she does really love him, Shonda kills her off with the reason "her journey is done". Hello??? What journey??? I've waited the whole time that they finally would be in a realtionship again and now, when they were ALMOST there, she dies. I won't stop watching the show because of this however I wanted my frustration to be acknowledged. Thanks :)

I have been running last night's ender over and over and over in my head! It.... I still can't get my mind to wrap aroun Lexie being dead. In the first twenty minutes Lexie finds out that she is dying and that Mark loves her something she has been waiting for since season 6 "The Shooting". I mean that performance between Mark and Lexie was outstanding! I cried like I was there with them hearing him say that to her. But, why did Lexie have to die? Why did the writers let her tell him that she loves him like that if she was not going to feel his love back? The were ment to be together! I hate the female he is with now and I laughed when Lexie hit that chick in the chest with a softball! She took her man. Christina was funny as hell with that whole shoe thing it was to lighten the mood but the Mercy death thing was funnier. Meridith and Derrick gts to be together forever and Christina and Meridith gets to be together why Lexie? I will be waiting mad till it comes back on in I think Septem

I'm really upset with the writers. I know that it is a drama serie but come on!! how much those guys can handle. Bombs, shooting, car crash and now a airplain crash. What next? a nuclear explosion? Can't nobody be happy at least for once??? From drama this has be come a sadistic program; Basicly I have to put a box of clinex next to me in each final season. What wrong with you writers???
But anyways, I can't wait for the next season.

She needs someone besides Derrick! Especially now, when it's doubtful that Der will ever operate again!
Hell I figured it was time for Mark to be happy and actually settle down...and with Lexie.
This is so wrong in so many ways.

I think that, honestly, she shouldnt put meredith's half sister in the picture to begin with. Of course there was no space for her on the show, Meredith already have one "sister" and that is cristina, their friendship is much more interesting and meredith and lexie relationship always seemed kind of fake. they shared 5 seasons and there are not a single convincing scene. So for me, and this is only my opinion, I'm glad it was Lexie to go, but I get the fans and get why they are mad at shonda , she did things in a wrong way since she had no intencion to keep her next season..
this season finale was boring :\ enough with the disasters! she could killed lexie anyway with a much more interesting finale..

This is Shonda's time to really be twisted and shine to the viewers. Remember, Grey wakes up from a dream, is she still dreaming all this.
No one has been found, and the writer could really make this a whole different twist for the first episode of next season. It could totally stun the viewers. My mind is working overtime on how I would twist this season ender. It's a shame I am not a writer.

(cont'd): This isn't fun to watch, a woman who is purportedly a gifted surgeon/doctor and wrenching all but the barest of happiness from her time and again is just DEPRESSING. There's nothing even remotely enjoyable about this show anymore. I am a devoted 8-season watcher that frankly can not care less about the next two seasons (if they get to 10). No joy, no happiness, no snarky life of the busy intern/resident/attending and no Dream House.
Ugh I'm done.

As an admitted self-loathing Grey's watcher, I can't begin to air my disappointment .. forget for a second that she ruined what would/could have been a great Act II for GA by killing off "little Grey," but the massive pretzel-logic she uses to move characters mere inches over the course of a season is so flipping exhausting.
I understand quite well that moving a series based on "will they or won't they?" to "loving committed couple" often brings a snooze to the drama, but in the case of Meredith and Derek, it's setting a new low. Between the crazy-a$$ness of the clinical trial to the separating after getting a baby to this insanely stupid plane crash, it's just ridiculous. It aspires to be melodrama it's so bad.
Worse, taking another of the few positive people in Meredith's life (Lexie) and killing her is -- once again -- spectacularly cruel. This isn't fun to watch, a woman who is purportedly a gifted surgeon/doctor and wrenching all but the barest of happiness from her time

Okay so I hated that Lexie died as much as everyone. But what makes me laugh is that I wonder what more can happen to a group of people in their lives? They were run over by buses, held bombs in their hands, almost drowned, got shot by old crazy guys, got sick with cancer, got into car accidents and plane crashes... how much more can they survived? (and I think I forgot a few)
And SR goes on and on about "how difficult it was to make the decision" to off Lexie, yeah as if we believed her. I bet every season they sit to write the finale and say "what natural disaster or accident haven't we used already? Oh yeah a black hole swallows the earth.. we should totally use that next season"
Meredith: People change, but they don't change.
