Vampire Diaries Casting: Who Should Play Bonnie's Father?

by at . Comments

We may need to wait months until The Vampire Diaries Season 4 graces our screens, but numerous interviews have revealed a few upcoming spoilers/tidbits. To wit:

  • Julie Plec foresees Elena as a "supernatural heroine" of some kind after she transitions.
  • The friendship between Caroline and Stefan will deepen.
  • Klaus is far from dead.
  • We'll meet Bonnie's father at some point.
Bonnie and Jeremy

It's on that final point we focus here: What actor should take on this key role?

The Vampire Diaries has had great success casting relative no names in big roles (see Morgan, Joseph and Gillies, Daniel), as it's not the sort of show to ever rely on stunt casting. But it's still fun to speculate... even if some of our following speculations are a tad more wishful than realistic.

@Mrs. Kol Mikaelson Klaus's Ex-Wife - An Elena sucks blog? I like the sound of that already! :D TVD is based on Elena's perspective of what goes on in Mystic Falls (Fell's Church) I get that but erm, but doesn't everyone else have a part to play? Tyler seems to sail in and out of the storyline saying he went through a lot of pain to break his sire to Klaus for Caroline but what he went through trying to, heaven only knows. What's Matt in the show now? Some show prop? He could have a big part to play. How about Bonnie? The whole hype about her evolving to be a witch and then super-witch, now what, servant witch? The book version of Bonnie is meek and scared but the writers have made the on-screen Bonnie strong and determined, but I don't know, lately she seems to be on-call for anyone and EVERYONE who needs some magical assistance. The writers need to catch up, look back at S1 and S2 and get back the TVD essence that made it great entertainment to watch.

THE MIRROR FROM ONCE UPON A TIME. DUH COME ON. Pick someone realistic, not whoever comes to your mind when you think "black guy" like Matt here. CEDRIC REALLY? YOU THREW CEDRIC IN HERE OVER JACKSON OR WASHINGTON? I can't even.

Isn't she going to die anyway...why get her dad involved? This character is so under developed and so pointless, her dad's never around, I've only seen a bit of her front room, her boyfriend fell in love with a ghost, everyone she knows dies, she can never do any spells without calling on a whole century worth of witches! If you decide to give her a dad, give her a sister as well, a much better actress Rae’Ven Larrymore Kelly, who kills her off and give her some dark magic to do with a story line, a well developed character pleeaassee

Micheal ealy should play
And and why must it be just black people. Katrina is half white and black

Lennie James - he was in jericho. Very good actor

Matt, the last option in the poll is not funny. Seriously?

On side not, kill of Elena and make it Katherine heaven, that girl rocks.

Who cares, two episodes in and he will be killed off, turned into a vampire or have klaus live in his body. Useless.

Will Bonnie smile this season? Or be happy at all? Will she be useful...? I highly doubt it lol

Oh and Seriously Matt? Cedric the Entertainer? Did you think that becuz Bonnie's character is a joke, a comdedian should play her father? Blair Underwood should play her father.

Vampire Diaries Quotes

You want a love that consumes you. You want passion and adventure, and even a little danger... I want you to get everything you're looking for. But for right now, I want you to forget that this happened. Can't have people knowing I'm in town yet. Goodnight, Elena.

Damon: You know what they are? Children. Like lighting a candle's going to make everything OK, or even saying a prayer. Or pretending Elena's not going to end up just like the rest of us murdering vampires. Stupid, delusional, exasperating little children. And I know what you're going to say: 'It makes them feel better, Damon.' So what? For how long? A minute, a day? What difference does it make? Because in the end, when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be. And a rock with a birthday carved into it that I'm pretty sure is wrong. So thanks, friend. Thanks for leaving me here to babysit. Because I should be long gone by now. I didn't get the girl, remember? I'm just stuck here fighting my brother and taking care of the kids. You owe me big.
Alaric: I miss you too, buddy.
