Gossip Girl Season Premiere Synopsis: Together But Apart

by at . Comments

The CW's official synopsis for the Gossip Girl Season 6 premiere has been released, and it confirms what we've pretty much pieced together at this point: Chuck and Blair are back together ... yet not.

Dan is apparently about to drop bombs in his new book, while Nate prepares to take on Gossip Girl, and Serena is MIA, leading the Upper East Siders to track her down (see season premiere photos).

Here's what the press release for "Gone Maybe Gone" teases:

Gossip Girl Gang
  • After a brief encounter abroad, Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) make a promise to each other about their relationship, which leaves them once again apart.
  • Dan (Penn Badgley), with some help from an unlikely ally, Georgina (guest star Michelle Trachtenberg), is writing a scathing tell-all book that can only mean trouble.
  • As the sole head of The Spectator, Nate (Chace Crawford) is making his own decisions and is ready to go up against Gossip Girl.
  • As word spreads that Serena (Blake Lively) is missing, the gang bands together to find her and are shocked by what they find.

Interestingly, no mention of Rufus sleeping with anyone.

Robert John Burke, Barry Watson, Andrea Gabriel, and Sofia Black-D’Elia guest star in the episode directed by Mark Piznarski and written by executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz.

Or not so interesting... now that Rufus and Lily are splits-ville again it's like seriously I don't care what happens to either of them romantically or otherwise. I would have preferred them happily married and living abroad some place like Blair's parents (in their respective marriages) are most of the time, so that we don't have to see them unless it's relevant/important to the current story arcs.

one thing that i hope happens with the serise coming to an end is chuck and blair standing in front of BART BASS and showing that he is powerful but even more with blair since not only once but twice he has scared chuck away from blair the end of season one and five THEY SHOULD RUB IT IN HIS FACE

NobodySpecial, that's the beauty of the show - despite the glamorous life, they are just like us regular people, they are flawed characters. Well, the GG creator didn't promise perfect character. If so, it would be boring, no scheming, no NJBC, it will just be like any other teen soap that happened to be on the tube that's why we are watching them. Ive seen Dawsons Creek, Popular, Roswell, One Tree Hill, The OC, Gilmore Girls, 90210, PLL, yet GG so far is the best teen soap for me despite the S5 mistakes. Proof, you can watch the first two seasons over and over again, right? However, with me I can watch Seasons 1 to 4 over and over again. Is Glee counted as teen soap? Well, nevermind. That must belong to another universe.

This disappoints me mainly because I think her character is extremely interesting throughout the seasons! Blair and Chuck together are so toxic yet so magical. These actors show a great chemistry on screen, and it definitely shows through the characters that they play. I have been annoyed by their constant break-ups and make-ups, but I must admit that it has kept me intrigued, and I would really like to see how they end up in the final season. I have watched the all of the seasons in a condensed amount of time rather than over the span of 5 years, so I have become quite the passionate fan. And maybe I'm a little too into it! I hope I come to find that some other people share some of the same feelings with me about the characters. This has become one of my favorite shows that I have watched over the years.

Personally, I am not a fan of Serena. Aside from her in season 1 and partially season 2 where she was trying to "change". I appreciated Dan and Serena's relationship in season 1, but over the seasons I've just been turned off altogether by Serena's actions. She is undoubtedly gorgeous but quick to destroy anyone who gets in the way of her spotlight, including her best friend, Blair. As for her being called a slut, I say "if the shoe fits". First, she deflowers her best friend's boyfriend, and then she has the audacity to hold a grudge against Blair for even crushing on her EX! Sorry if I'm offending the Serena fans (if there are any at this point in the show)! I really did like Nate and Ivy together though I'm not so sure how I feel about Ivy any longer, but Lily and Serena acting the way they did toward her makes me more angry at them for that than at her for lying about her identity. As for Blair, it seems a lot of people on this feed haven't mentioned much about her. This disappoints me mainly because I think her character is extremely interesting throughout the seasons! Why does anybody even like Dan, he's so pretentious. Even Penn thought the character of Dan was a douchebag. Serena needs to end up with Nate, they are my favourite couple, and to not revisit it (even though Dan and Serena have been revisited many times - and failed) would make this show all for not. I'd be sorry I even continued watching it past season 3.

Dan will never call Serena a slut, yes. He just made her feel a trash the whole S5, ultimately in the ending. So, nah! People doesn't like to see DERENA anymore. At least SERENATE as something visually sweet to offer.

Only Georgina and a war on Gossip Girl can save this show now.

And who am I? That's one secret I'll never tell ... You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl

[to Jenny] That's the thing. You need to be cool to be queen. Anne Boleyn thought only with her heart and she got her head chopped off. So her daughter Elizabeth made a vow never to marry a man. She married a country. Forget boys. Keep your eye on the prize, Jenny Humphrey. You can't make people love you, but you can make them fear you. For what it's worth, you're my Queen. I choose you.
