Or, you can acknowledge your character flaws and ask your partner to accept them at the same time as you accept your differences as people. That's what happens in a mature relationship. People aren't perfect, but pretending you are or trying to change who you are is what gets you into trouble. Lauren is still pretending ("it's your nature" but I'm sad inside). Dyson was acknowledging. I don't know why people have such a problem with a really simple scene.

Dyson has no problems with open uncommitted relationships, but if he commits he wants monogamy--what a jerk! Move past it. All you end up saying is Lauren doesn't mind cheating and with her background how could she?!

  2. LucyK

Please. Dyson *is* a man-whore. It is not in his nature to be one, he simply is. He is much more "traveled" than Bo - also established in the show. Of course Lauren gets jealous and hurt - and it shows. Thing is, you can be jealous of someone and still accept and respect who they are. Or you can use that to manipulate them to change to suit your needs.

I don't think the triangle would make Bo unlikable at all. If anything, it is going to assassinate Dyson and Lauren even further. Bo is the only character on the show along with Kenzi who I can honestly say have evolved in 2 seasons (and for the better).

  3. Shelly

Oh for goodness sake! Lauren gets jealous all the time. Plus, she basically called Dyson a slut; if Dyson is too "well traveled" to sleep with, what does that make Bo? Saying "it's your nature" while looking like someone ran over your cat is NOT being "understanding." It is just another of Lauren's lies.

Ditch the attacks and the rewriting. Let the triangle crap die already. To keep it going they have to make Bo a jerk. I want to like Bo again. I want to like all my characters again.

  4. Manu

[...] and Lauren, she *will* have to "sleep around" and both of them are very much aware of that. The difference is that only one of them respects that.

  5. Manu

*Just a tip: Usually when a significant other "encourages" you to sleep around, it's because they're also sleeping around*

Huh? How does that "tip" apply to a Succubus? Assuming Lauren was actually encouraging Bo to "sleep around" it ultimately means she was encouraging her to be herself. And in Lauren's case, it simply means that in addition to being her lover, she is also her Doctor. She is more cerebral, Dyson is impulsive and emotional. Succubi are not monogamous creatures. When feeding off a single partner for a long period of time, it will weaken them and ultimately kill them, even if Fae. We have learned that in the first season. We have also learned that a Succubus needs a healthy sex life in order to be stable. So, theoretically, she can be with either Dyson and Lauren, but biologically she needs other sexual partners in addition to them. Those are all facts. It's in the mythology of the show, no one made that up. So, unless Bo is willing to take her chances with Dyson an

Um, no. Lauren never encouraged Bo to "sleep around". She encouraged Bo to embrace who she is and not be ashamed of it (I vaguely remember Bo being hurt by Dyson's "sleazy" remark in S1). She is the one who introduced Bo to her identity. She is the one who - behind The Ash's back and at Bo's request - helped her to control her abilities so she could sleep with people (Fae and Human) and not kill them. She is the one who not once repressed her for having to feed/heal off someone else. That never changed before, during or after Nadia.

Just a tip: Usually when a significant other "encourages" you to sleep around, it's because they're also sleeping around.....or in Lauren's case, they have a girlfriend in a coma!

  8. AgathaJune

That's not what makes him territorial and possessive - it is the fact that he doesn't respect Bo's nature and expects her to "change" to suit HIS species propensity for monogamy. There's a difference. Lauren might not be right for her either but at least she never once disrespected her for being who she is, she actually encourages her. Again, there's a difference.

  9. Fran

If wanting a monogamous relationship makes Dyson territorial or possessive, then I guess most of us are territorial and possessive! Not that it really matters..... this season killed any interest I might have had in Bo and Dyson getting back together.

  10. AgathaJune

I'm glad that tedious Garuda storyline is now behind us so they can push the reset button next season. Dark Bo being the villain is far more interesting - at least on paper - than most storylines they shoved down our throats this season.

The whole "Who should Bo be with?" idiocy gets on my nerves. She is a Succubus. The show has already established that Succubi are not monogamous. She would never, ever work with Dyson as he is way too territorial and possessive and poor Lauren would have to deal with Bo banging half the city on the side. Like it or not, Bo's love interests are Dyson and Lauren. There won't be anyone else. If they want to create something compelling to watch, they should go for a poly-amorous relationship. The love triangle phase got old pretty quickly.

Here's to a season free of filler episodes, plot devices and girlfriends in a coma.

I'm a Dyson fan, but this episode wasn't him at his best. In fact, the only characters that I really liked in this episode were Kenzi, Hale and Trick. Bo's character has been annoying for most of the season and a love triangle next season will only make her more annoying.

  12. Dyson fail

I could see why Bo found Dyson attractive until about two thirds through the first series when the convoluted blocks kicked in. The awful Wolf Spirit business and the final blow 'sleep with me Bo!' really didn't do him any favours. Dyson should be more aloof, make Bo work for it, this run of selfish, aggressive douche to pleading, loyal spaniel is the pits. And that comes from someone who converted to Doccubus after 1.06. Lauren's character needs to be more Season One too, I hope they learn lessons from some of the comments made.

  13. Skyfyre999

    Best line the entire episode?

"BO!!! SLEEEEP WITH MEEEEEE! You need the strength."

    Answer?
    Nope.

I cried with laughter. Sorry Dyson fans. I get that you love him. He can be adorable on occassion, but man.. tears. They didn't do right by any characters with this scene.

  14. Skyfyre999

hmm-- Finale set things up great... pacing tension again lacking. I think either it was budget constraints or something but I didn't feel dread, and for a finale..you want to feel dread. Although the Garuda's sword was bigger this time? (pfew) Dyson doesn't say anything about his revelation... interesting. And it's really hard not to read into the whole lame "you can run, be free" line-- right. That was SSOOOOO looking out for Lauren after the "I might never see you again" doccubus kiss earlier. God he's such a gentleman. Lauren...saved everyone this episode and doesn't ask for accolades. She just gets it done. Bo...darkbo coming soon. YES!!!

  15. Fancha

Vex should be in every episode. I like him much better than Dyson, Hale and he is much more entertaining than most characters at times, even Kenzi. Speaking of which, not sure I'm liking this new development. If they are going to "Fred" Kenzi, I will have to consider stop watching the show.

DeAnn, the finale made it clear that Lauren is actually staying for Bo -- willingly this time.

  16. Fancha

I liked the finale just fine. It wasn't better than last week's episode. It wasn't stellar. But it set up season 3 pretty nicely. And how surprised (not) am I to find out Dyson continues to be a brooding asshole even with his heart back? First opportunity he gets, he is throwing Lauren under the bus. Triangle will be back in full force next season but it's comforting to know Bo is in love with Lauren and will choose her judging by the little we know about season 3.

    Rank: Recurring Character

I hope that Dyson and Bo get back together in season 3, because Lauren and Bo's relationship bores me to tears. I hope that Lauren will take this chance to be free and flee to parts unknown, so that we can get on with some interesting relationships/characters in Bo's life.
I loved Kenzi and Hale's scene where he healed her...that was awesome, and I was also more than a tad worried about Bo's dark side not totally going away. I was glad that she knows that Trick is her grandfather, and that perhaps now she can find out more about her father and her family. I wonder what powers or problems Kenzi will have with the black stuff that was absorbed into her, and I thought Vex was pretty funny in this episode, though he's really such a jerk to begin with, at least he's funny.

    Rank: Regular Character

I love this episode It is one of my favorites. When Kenzi was dieing Hale was there for her and never left her he even used his siren whistle to heal her and make sure she lived and we really saw how much they care about each other. I liked the end and it left me with questions like what's going to happen with Bo since she has darkness in her still and what's going to happen with Kenzi. When I saw the previews for the third season i was excited it looks amazing and it also looked like Kenzi will be going through some more transformations which will be interesting to see. I can't wait till the 3rd season starts.

Season 1 was better. The Garuda storyline wasn't plotted well. Several character arcs were problematic. The season ended well and set up Season 3 well.

  20. finale

What happened to Dyson's significance. He did exactly the same thing as he did in Into the Dark just threw himself at a stronger enemy and got his ass kicked. The Garuda was a bit stupid putting himself into Trick, no-more flamy wings or sword just Bo dithering with the venom and waiting for Vex to turn up and Lauren to repeat the significant bits of the plot in case anyone had dosed off for three episodes. It looks like Lauren's got pole position on the love front which means we have to endure Dyson's returned broken heart next series. Oh joy. Still oddly entertaining. Grins.
