I don't think Castle could EVER be a let down...it is the hour of tv I look forward to each week! Yes, I'm glad Ryan and Javier are back to being best buds, but actually thought it would take Ryan being shot and in the hospital for Javier to come to his side. I can't tell you how much fun it is to have Beckett and Castle "together" on and off work!!! It adds so much more dimension to their characters and there is so much the writers can explore now that they are a couple. Here's to keeping them that way for a LONG time!! :-) I laughed til I cried during the "date" scene between Castle and the tv personality (can't really call her a reporter).
As for who will find out about the couple first....I really think it will be Alexis or Janie who will discover the relationship first...since Alexis works with Janie now maybe they will put their heads together and come up with it at the same time!

The pain we put ourselves through when we love one another. We look sometimes and don't say anything. We do things to annoy one another. But in the end its the strong feelings we have that keep us together. That is what true love is. And when Castle said yes to the date it put Kate at one of those moments as she rushed in to get her man back. She also sent a message when he wanted to kiss her in the end scene, but she would in a moment forgive if he was willing to admit it was wrong. A roller coaster indeed. But the ep brought back the family so to speak. And my guess is they all know that they are seeing together but not letting on. Its just hard to hide your feelings when you see two people together you might not even know but you sense that they are a couple. There are no secrets, just ones that we ignore sometimes. But the tension will have to break in a future episode when one is really in danger and there search for Beckett's moms killer.

I really love this show, and We all know what a fantastic comic Nathan Fillion is, but Astana Katic is just amazing. She is so versatile, she can do drama and comedy equally well. The whole cast are superb. Castle does not have to worry about the " Moonlighting " curse.

I really enjoyed the episode, and I'm glad that the show is back to its lighthearted, fun self.
Here's what I didn't like about it - and this bugs me with ANY couple portrayed on TV - the woman that says she's fine with things she's not.
Castle: Wait...are you okay with me going on this date?
Beckett: Sure, go ahead, whatever...
GOOD GRIEF - I know it makes for good TV, but I find that soooo irritating. And I'm a woman! My goodness, just say "No, Castle, it would make me uncomfortable." It's not like he wanted to go on the date; He would have been happy to break it, he was only going to go along with the ruse of singlehood. Oh Beckett, you could have saved yourself the vision of boobs in his face LOL
Anyways, moving on - SO GLAD my fave bromance is back on!

Well, I see no reason for them to break up in the future. There are many senarios that could be worked out if it became official, at work, that they are a couple. The show will not be as good if they are not in scenes together working to solve crimes and then, at night, become a couple again. Its is T V--it can be worked out.

I dont think that castle needs to man up and say something cause i dont feel like he feels that way. if i were castle i think id let her lead the situation for a little while because 1 this could jepordize her carreer (and she does that enough on her own) and 2 because this relationship is new to both of them but i think its newer to her as hes always loved her.
I love this show and Nathon Fallon is a hoot. I believe it is about a year too late but am loving that the writers producers of the show finally embracing the freight train is coming down the track inevitability of a romance between Castle and Kate. The writing of this show is really kind of odd in that the characters and their relationships are very well written and of course extremely well acted but the plots at times are profoundly lame. When the plots match the quality of the characters and their relatioinships it is great television. The producers should just hire somebody who is really good with plots and let the other writers do the rest. My guess is Castle's daughter will be the first to know about the romance.

Love it! I think Castle should have picked up a coffee for Beckett, but this episode was very good. I got a kick over Javier and Ryan having thier moments too. I think the quality time they spend together was worth putting into the storyline. I too, loved the looks, the glances, the "lumps" in their throats hearing about keeping secrets from workers in the tv station. I enjoyed the parts where they got to share feelings, and become more open to how they feel. Bravo, they are taking a big step together. I think Lanie will put it together, or will Alexis when they get home from Paris.

I am with all of you who said you loved this ep, and I totally agree with the review, it is great to see Javi and Ryan back together in their bromance!
And the scene with Castle and the TV station bimbo straddling him, while Kate breaks in, gun drawn, was hilarious...I was kind of hoping she'd whip off a warning shot over the bimbos head, but alas, she's too professional for that. BTW, my husband worked at a TV station for a couple of years (he worked in radio for 20 years before that) and TV anchors and reporters really are a vain and nasty lot. There are always affairs going on, and the stations General Manager was being blackmailed by one of the news editors to keep her working, though she was a terrible manager and a really nasty person, but because she knew where the bodies were buried, she kept her job. Working in TV is like working in a nest of vipers, at least from what I have seen (I worked in print media for most of my career.)Anyway, I can't wait for next week! Go Caskett!

It was Beckett's first day back to work, so she was understandably very anxious and the case drawing so many parallels freaked her out somewhat. She still has her insecurities and the situation in this episode whilst being very funny at times, brought them to the forefront.
I love what AWM is doing with this relationship. It is grounded, 'unsoppy', natural, and as far as any relationship can be on a fictional TV show, real. Well done sir. Really love your show. and it's wealth of talent, both on and off the screen. Long may it continue

niset - We feel the same about the weather babe. We waited 4 years for an amazing first kiss & love scene. Guys are always hitting on Kate & women on Castle but...what is the point??? We want murder, mystery, comedy & romance... Nathan & Stana are superb actors with the most expressive faces & eyes. Give us 4 years of that & then we will be on the 8th season. Castle & Beckett are like two magnets - it is one of those things that happen once in a blue moon...& we know they are only acting...sweet, sexy & saucy. The best crime solving couple of the century :) I hope we enjoy Season 5 with more Caskett moments...& less weather forecasts :)

I loved this episode as much as the previous one. Maybe even more. Especially, the looks on thei faces. First in the morgue, when they thought Lanie was on to them. Their faces! Super done! Next when they were discussing the 'frienship' thing and the banter of who was trying to seduce the other one. The looks when Esposito was already telling his story. Funny. And when they're about to arrest mr. Hackston. 'Christina told me you were the one man that rejected her advances in the past.' Yep, THE one man' LOL. If looks could kill.
Not to forget Castle's irritaton when 'Chip' makes the call me sign to Kate.
And so many more funny moments.
Love Kate's openness to Castle. Ofcourse trying desperately to keep their relationship a secret, is not one of their brightest ideas.
It's light, it's funny and still adictive.Loved every minut of it

The scene in the loft was comedy in the suspend belief sense. I can't see it really happening when, yeah, he could have stopped it with a few words that would have insulted her, sure, but stopped the comedic rape. But, I thought Kate rushing in, gun out, jealous was important and what they went through all of that to have happen. The way she rushed out of the station! We know for sure she's invested and possessive of her man, which will just raise the fun level in the future. I wasn't sure about how the show would carry on once the two were in a relationship -- but it is fun!!

Maria, I could not have said it better myself. The scene at the loft felt wrong. It was forced. There was no need to take it that far & much more drama/comedy could have been achieved. It felt like "broken glass"... I think the writers let us down on this one; they can do soooo much better.
"TOO SOON" in their relationship is also very true, specially considering we waited 4 VERY LONG YEARS for that first kiss. Now we are going at the speed of light for the bad situations? Why not WAIT 4 YEARS FOR THE BAD ? That would be much more balanced & palatable.
And Maria, IT IS SOMETHING A COUPLE SHOULD NOT DO out of RESPECT & LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER. You are very wise. Rules in all human relationships are VERY SIMPLE, BUT NOT ALWAYS EASY.

I think it's time for Rick to man up. He has made it perfectly clear how he feels about Kate. But he seems to let her be in charge of the relationship. I can see keeping the relationship a secret from Gates...but not the rest of the family and friends. They have wanted them together for so long...I think they could keep it from Gates. I Love Rick and Kate together...but I think it's time Rick has some say and steps up.
