Favorite scene: When the reporter (killer) described what it's like keeping a workplace relationship a secret. The tone was spot-on!
Esposito/Ryan bromance: I hope this is more than temporary detente. These guys need to get back 'home' right now.
The date: Gonna save this answer for my upcoming rant.
The secret (length): I think the best season-ending cliffhanger would be Gates finding out. I also believe that Martha and Lanie already "know" in their hearts.
The secret (effect): Won't hurt them, but it adds layers of complexity to their relationship. Instead of lying to each other (S4) they're lying to the world (S5).

I like that Castle and Kate are keeping their relationship a secret, because it provides tension. Otherwise it would become ordinary too quickly. I especially liked when Lanie (who should get back with Espisito) knew that Kate had had sex, but not with whom! It also makes Kate a little vulnerable, which we're not used to seeing. AND A NOTE TO GREY: You don't have to be 49 or under to enjoy this show. We're not dead yet!

How could anyone not love this episode? I loved your review and find the roundtable such an enjoyable way to spend time while waiting for the next episode. The only complaint I have about Castle is how little promotion ABC does. Promos during DWTS and Castle itself don't really count because they are playing to the existing fans. I wish more people knew about the show because it's so fun to talk about during the week with other fans.

Got cut off... lol.

My last statement was this:

Just because Castle and Beckett are together now, it doesn't mean there won't be obstacles for them to overcome. That's what the great love stories are about, right? Beating the odds... ;-)

How they handle those obstacles and challenges is what will bring them closer together, just as it has for these past four seasons.

Grey, the ratings are nothing to worry about! Please trust me on that one and don't give in to the panic!! If "Castle" ever gets moved to another night, then you can panic ;-)

I thought this round table discussion was great, as always!

The one thing that I wanted to add to the discussion above is that it was necessary for us to see Castle fail in this episode. And fail miserably he did. Lol. In "After The Storm", Castle was actually quite perfect. He said the right things, he did the right things (minus asking Beckett to hide in his closet from his mother and daughter), and he was very much the perfect version of himself throughout most of the episode. So "Cloudy With A Chance Of Murder" was the chance to show his flawed side, that side of him that is trying to do the right thing but just isn't always going to make the right choices along the way.

Just because Castle and Beckett are together, it doesn't mean that there won't be more obstacles for them to overcome. That's what the great love stories are about, right? ;-)

At the end of the day, how they overcome those obstacles is what will bring them even closer together, just as it has over the past four years.

Or how the guys told Beckett that Castle will make a move on the bikini girl, because "he's a guy and he has a pulse" :D

Will keeping their relationship a secret hurt them in the end? No way.

I absolutely loved this episode. This is exactly how Caste and Beckett should be like as a couple. Perfect.

Favourite scene - aside from every single scene with Caskett, I loved the line from Espo: "Yo, are you wearing make-up?" :D

Was taking a punch all it took for Esposito to forgive Ryan? What more do you want? But seriously, they are awesome.

Should Rick have agreed to the date? Of course he should have agreed, saying no would make the whole thing super awkward. But he should not actually GO on that date.

How long can they keep this secret? Another episode or two would be nice. I mean come on, that was hilarious. That is why we love this show, because of these hilarious moments. Like when Castle told Beckett she's overreacting about the coffee and then Espo immediately went: "What, no coffee?". Or when Lanie asked Beckett who the guy was and Castle went: "Yeah, who's the guy, Beckett?". Or how the guys told Beckett that Castle will make a move on the bikini girl, because "he's a guy and he has a pulse" :D

Will keeping their relationship a secret hurt them in the end? No way.

I loved that this episode gave us plenty of fun and laughter but also some significant growth in the Caskett relationship.

1 - I loved the final scene for exactly all the reasons Mary Lou mentioned.

2 - I think taking a punch was a big thing to Espo. He understands that kind of 'having your partner's back' and I think it overcame most of the resentment he was harboring towards Ryan.

3 - Castle was stuck between a rock and a hard place and almost had to agree to the date on camera. He's also known for acting impulsively and regretting it later. Despite the fun of the showdown at the loft, I think he should have sent the reporter packing before it got out of hand.

4 - Early sneak peeks have messed with this question but I still think that they'll try to keep it a secret at the station for a few more episodes -despite the fact that most people will have already figured it out :)

5 - I don't think keeping things secret will hurt them. I like what Christine said, that it will give them the time to face challenges together and grow as a couple.

Was so happy to see Ryan and Espo start to mend the friendship and partnership. Didn't think throwing Castle under the bus was really called for. He went almost 2 years without dating waiting for Beckett...until he found out she always knew he said he loved her. And then he did it to try to forget Kate but it didn't work.
Episode still had all the things we have come to LOVE and expect from AWM!
