I liked the episode perfect balance between all the main characters I Loved the Ohana moments, how they all where there for Chin and loved some comedy they showed
Starting with the funeral broke my heart but it was a beautiful one RIP Malia I only wished they showed us more instead of that long car chase right after the funeral.
I really like the way they used Catherine just enough and she didn’t take time away from the team she has a storyline which only involved helping Steve to look for his mom. I only hope Catherine will say NO for once to Steve when he ask her again for a favor.
I loved the scene where the all hug Chin and Steve saying "That's what family's for."
The crime case was to complex for me so much people involved I lost track
When August March said in the interrogation room he was not going back to jail I knew he would commit suicide. So that wasn’t a surprise for me.

I believe they should have kept August March along for at least one or two more heists before they caught on to him - then maybe he actually had skin cancer and offed himself then. Two episodes in and killing off too many of the "good" bad guys.
Chin mourning Malia's death has just begun and he is brilliant. However, why did they edit out the splash scene from the online previews? Also, at the end, did they really need to plug the "Hilton" as being the place where Chin and Malia met? When they were originally going to get married, Chin could only afford maybe a weekend in Lanai... So how is it that not only can he afford to have his apartment painted, but also able to blow $300 a night to stay at the Hilton while it was done? Tacky.

Thank you, Elisa!! I agree on all your comments, and for the first time I cannot agree on this review from TV Fanatic! It's a TV show, people! I'd be upset if I had spent $13 for a movie ticket and didn't like it, but it's one of MANY episodes this season! Not all are going to please everyone! I love the mix of comedic relief, the beautiful scenery, the team as family, and some villian to get rid of.....think about it, why would ANY police force have 4 "specialist" doing what the rest of the PD can do? It's H5O! Deal with it!
And, George, your comments are annoying!

Hmmm. I LOVED this episode. I loved the comedy, loved how they all mourned with Chin, but he got on with the work too, loved seeing Catherine go undercover. She is in Naval Intelligence. Means she's a Navy woman. Of course she can kick ass and she knows how to get information. I loved that. And the romance is slow and steady. She isn't horning in on the Four, she's working for McG on the side like she's always done, but since she's on dry land, we're seeing her work now. I'm totally cool with that. And I thought Ed Asner got some fabulous scenes last night. Before the roadkill part. I thought it was a very enjoyable hour. And no more ridiculous than any other of CBS's procedurals, where the good guys show up just in the nick of time or the bad guy gets the jump on a cop who ought to know better. Couldn't disagree more with your review. Every. Single. Point.

Even my love of Alex can't keep me watching this show anymore. We are back to the same boring annoying formula which I could stomach if the characters hadn't become so boring bland and annoying. The writers have managed to butcher every decent guest star in the show and now they've started on Catherine. Danny's whining about Steve doing his job is becoming beyond annoying and not remotely funny.
I'm beginning to wonder how he even got to become a cop let alone part of a Specical Task Force. Ed Asner was great but his death pathetic. DDK is awsome but I can't look at Chin the same way due to him murdering Delano. Looking at next weeks promo just confirms that the show has become a joke.

It's sad what they are doing to Catherine. People really like that character for what she is - Steve's occasional love interest - they need to leave it at that. This show has a way of ruining the formula that made it so great. Ande why do they turn every female character into some bad@ss cop?? She's a Naval Officer, yet suddenly she can shoot, fight and go undercover?? Ridiculous.

This was not a great episode and Lou Asner was not well utilized. The funeral and Chin Ho's behavior were definitely the best part of the drama. I have suspended belief many times in the past but it usually was for an exciting reason. This plot was boring. Did August March orchestrate the entire thing? How did he gain the drop on two felons and kill them? And most important of all, after he was caught and knew he was out of options did he purposely lead the police as far away from the hostage as possible? He could have run into traffic AFTER he told McGarrett where to find the girl. It was senseless and stupid for a master criminal and not a fitting end for Asner.

"George Where did you got the info about that Reiko Ayelsworth was so fed up of not having any role in most episodes that she asked the producers to kill her character off this is new for me."
Support staff, Camera folks, editors and others in Hollywood who I happen to know. Ms. Ayelsworth will give an interview soon. She supposedly did not imply racism. But said that she had miniscule roles after her "marriage."
"And will you please STOP!! with all the racial comments you did it last week and now again it's getting annoying and ridiculous."
Did not make any racist statements. But, whatever I have said is true and truth will always hurt....If anything I said was untrue, please do provide evidence and I will apologize.....
I personally loved this episode! I can not believe you gave it a low rating!
I had not problem with the way August died. He did not want to go back to jail and I am sure Danny and Steve did not think an old man could out run them. They did have 2 cop cars with them BTW.
I loved the scene at the beggining a very nice sent off for Malia. I think the Hawaiian tradtion is very nice.
I think Danny and Steve's carguments are even more funny this year.
I really liked the scene with Chin and Kono and the one with Danny and Kono.
This show is not based on reality so I take it for what it is and that is why I like it so much! SO therefore I had not issues with how Catherine got the info from the guy in the bar.
I have always like Catherine but I am glad that her storyline is with Steve's mom and not her joining the task force.

It is a bit sad that they showed more of Malia dead than alive in the past few months. I guess we will be hearing about her more now that she is dead and Chin Ho Kelly will find it very difficult to get over it. However, in real life what happened was Reiko Ayelsworth was so fed up of not having any role in most episodes that she asked the producers to kill her character off. They have already killed off two romantic Asian possibilities for Chin Ho Kelly. In the fist season, I believe Kelly Hu's character was finished off and in the beginning of the third, Malia was killed off. According to the grapevine Asian-Asian romance does not sell. For that matter black-black romance only sells to black audience. Evidence clearly indicates that white male-Asian female romance does not sell either. That is why Priya (Aarti Maan's character) was pushed out of Big Bang Theory. Ratings fell for every episode that Priya was the romantic interest of one of the main actors. This episode for me was just...meh. Not the worst, but nowhere close to the best. It may have satisfied as a mid-season filler ep but it was a disappointment as the 2nd of the season. A couple of scenes really stood out for me... (1) the opening - it was beautiful and I may have screamed Nooooooo when they shifted to the crime of the week (btw...promo fotos teased a Danny Kono conversation by the cars while dressing after the funeral that I assume got cut. Thats a shame) (2) the cousins at HQ. (3) Undercover!Kono is always a win for me and (4) Danny and Chin on the beach.
I hated the whole crime of the week this epi- unnecessarily convoluted and I wish they could have saved August March for another epi later in the season when there was less other stuff that really needed some attention because he is a great criminal. Last, I guess we assume Kono has no residual effects from her near murder/drowning and Im left wondering if the team even cares who pulled her out of the deep blue sea

As for Kamekona, isn't he suppose to be played as someone trying to get to the next big payoff. That is exactly what you would expect from him. I think that might even lead us to another appearance by Jimmy Buffett, which I would love. Next week looks good, but I'm sure all those are ready to rip that one apart as well.

I agree that the ease that Catherine had hacking into a computer was way too easy. A lot of WITSEC witnesses would be dead if it was that easy.
However, I liked this show very much. I agree the opener was better. Many people were complaining about the crime of the week. Well it was there and the core 4 handled it. Catherine out on her own was great, should have eased those that think she is going to interfere with 5-0. Her place right now is clearly helping Steve with figuring out Mama's moves. Loved the blue corvette, and getting info by using a little sex appeal is what you would expect from a crime show. (cont.)
