Gossip Girl Finale Spoilers: Flash Forward Ahead!

at . Comments

There will be a flash forward on the Gossip Girl finale.

Many of you no doubt heard this rumor a long time ago, and it's now confirmed to be the case. How far will the finale flash forward, when it will air during the episode and what it will the glimpse into the future entail?

That's still under lock and key, but theories abound (a notable one involves Chuck and Blair's son Henry), and we're sure you have your own ideas about what will - and what you'd like to see - happen December 17.

Heading Out

Think it's true that after the final season concludes in the present, we'll see the married couple a few years down the road, living happily ever after? Are we in for some additional surprises no one will see coming?

Check out the Gossip Girl finale photos if you haven't seen them, then share with us in the comments below: What will the flash forward show, and what is your ideal ending for the show's sixth and final season?

Every season finale has had a time jump. It makes sense that the series finale, which is also the season finale, would as well. It wouldn't be a Gossip Girl finale without one. By the way, E! posted a spoiler about the upcoming death and a list of characters one of which is the one that dies. Each characters full name was given, except Lily! Maybe it's a not so subtle hint!

@Jarrod Mitchell would be great if it is! But I don't think the writers would end it up without give any satisfaction to Chairleaders, coz they'd be murdered violently for them if not give'em what they want. Beside it would be good wrinting and actually plot and storylines for anyone! And we'll not see that, I'm positive. Sad but true.

But if there is a time jump of a few years ahead, then the marriage between Serena and Dan is dream and Serena finally ends the same way as her mother Lily? Since the break between Serena and Dan took in 6x08, then reconciliation will have to be very well written to make sense! And since we already know that it will be a return to the past, then the final reconciliation between Serena and Dan will be when the two of them remember what happened in 2005 on that birthday when they first met and fell in love! The announcement has already been made in 6x06, when Serena reads a story that wrote about her by Dan! It remains only to wait and see what will be in the end!

If 6x02, 6x03, 6x04 episodes are not failure, then there would be no need for time-jump! I already wrote that the story of Serena and Stephen was total failure, and better that did not happen, because it spent valuable time that could be better used! Now, that is what it is, it will be a time jump, I hope a few months rather than years, because it makes no sense! Why should the wedding between Chuck and Blair happened in 2012, and between Serena and Dan in 2017 or any other year, this is complete nonsense! Because what happens with Serena and the rest for that time? My opinion is that will be a time jump several months ahead, which is okay and this has happened.

Hopefully the flashforward shows Dan and Blair together, Serena and Chuck dead, Lily in prison, Rufus being happy with someone, Ivy living it up happy on the Upper East Side, Nate having nothing whatsoever and Jenny and Eric in business together.

I'm curious about Georgina's big gift! What's in there? And why any of the guys are a gentleman and carry it for her?! It doesn't seems havy but still!

Elise of the upper east side

I completely agree with Ella. The flash forward is an easy way of skipping around the character development and actually good story lines that the writers are obviously completely incapable of. But it's necessary, and seeing future-NJBC and CB with their son and *finally* happy will make me regret watching s3-6 a little less (just a little though. this show sucks)

Every season finale has ended with a slight flash forward. Is it so inappropriate that they end the series with another? It's routine by this point.

The fact they even have a flash forward in the finale shows how they messed up the final season- because if they'd created storylines for each of the characters that actually brought closure to their individual stories, whilst leaving a little of the future possibilities to the viewer's imagination; they wouldn't need to tag on this 'and in the end they all lived happily ever after' bit. Instead they have done an abysmal job of growing, developing and finally wrapping up the characters storylines. It's so unsatisfying after all this time!
