The Vampire Diaries threw a social media party last week - and millions of fans gladly RSVPd for the online event.

According to Trendrr, The CW smash topped its list of the most social primetime series on broadcast television from January 21-27, the first time TVD has earned this honor.

Over the course of the aforementioned seven days, The Vampire Diaries used the hashtag "#TVDparty" to trend across a variety of platforms, generating nearly 865,000 interactions on Twitter, Facebook, GetGlue and Viggle.

Moreover, during Thursday's "Catch Me If You Can," Vampire Diaries cast members Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, Zach Roerig and Claire Holt joined executive producer Julie Plec in live Tweeting, trending #TVDparty across Twitter throughout the evening.
