This is so heartbreaking. Jeremy's really gone? I can still picture his queit reassuring whisper to Bonnie when they were together, and his close relationship with Elena. We'd always look up to big, kind, not to mention hot Jeremy to look after everyone. Make things okay.. and now he's just gone, like Alaric (another character i miss so, so, so much.) Can't really face Jeremy being dead. Alaric was hard enough. Now JEREMY?! Guys get a grip on, its Jeremy, elenas little brother, the one we love so much on the show. He just can't stay dead.
Elena and her humanity off switch? That is something I didn't expect Damon to suggest. I hope it doesn't go on for long, her humanity and love is the heart of the show. I love her relationship with Damon, but Elena is meant to be with Stefan. It was how it was in the beginning, it was her choice when she went off that bridge. Don't you remember the loving scenes with him? On top of the Ferris Wheel, happy to be with him in spite of all the trouble
Sucks Jeremy is gone along with Alaric. Tell me again, why did these two fantastic characters get killed off, yet Matt, who serves no real purpose other than keep Elena stay grounded to humanity, is still alive.
I love reading these comments because you all come up with things I never would have though of.
1) Katherine was always working with Klaus
2) Tyler is already dead
3) The sire bond might be gone because Elena no longer feels anything for Damon
Cannot wait for the next episode. (Hate that it's on break)
This show is getting crazy & out of control. The writers are writing any damn thing because somebody is getting lazy & weird in not knowing what else to do to try to keep it interesting. They keep killing off family members to give the main characters something to trip out about. It's getting sad to watch. Then they go on a hiatus, using all these damn breaks to keep us up & down like a yoyo. I'm really beginning to lose interest. They're acting like they want the ratings to go down on purpose.
@kayla i think he did. He said to stefan he wasn't enough since elena lost her brother. If he could help her any other way he would do it. Plus when Stefan told him that they've been through some rough patches because of Elena he said it didnt matter anymore. The ploblem now is that he cant make her "turn on" the feelings , he doesnt have that power now.
in order 4 the sire bond to work elena has to luv damon right? but she turned off her humanity including her emotions meaning she can't love, so wouldn't that mean she's no longer sired to him? if so she might be like that for a while damon really didn't think this through did he?
this episodes wasnt one of my favorites...no klaus, no more jeremy, and a total cliff hanger.
i just want to see elena go crazy and turn into a damon 2.0 and some more klaroline scenes
It sucks that Elena's brother is home mb for now who knows but Matt isn't the only human you got April and torey Paul's wife and Caroline's mom so I mean enough of that. TVD is about to get alot more interesting can't wait to see a different Elena and I hope she kicks Katherine's ass pardon my cussing
Hayley and Katherine are on the same team? And Tyler might run just into them (or at least Heyley, cause I'm sure when he left MF he went straight looking for her despite everything she's done)? That could become interesting!
Kudos to Nina Dobrev and Zach Roerig! Great acting! On the other hand ... seriously, Bonnie was annoying as a character, acting incredibly stupid, and Katerina Graham's acting was sooo bad. Oh my god. Can the witch please FINALLY be killed?
My guess is that Rebekah healed Shane in the woods - or he just told her that Silas is using his body and she runs back to MF (hopefully) to tell the others. Maybe her and Klaus will join Team MF to fight Silas, yay!
I missed Klaus....I suspect Tyler didn't pick up the phone because he is already dead. And I think Kat is working with Klaus all along, he wouldnt have let her go so easily on season 3 otherwise.
Omg i didnt get to watch the episode but wow. O:
I don't understand why Tyler had to leave because of Claus...he hasn't been afraid of his threats up till now?? Not real happy to hear there may be a spinoff with the originals..considering rebecca and claus are only ones left..where can this show go from here? What we love about tvd is the couples and the triangles..no one is together now..and it does really suck Jeremy died...i wasn't crazy about the whole hunter story anyway...was hoping the cure would put some stuff back the way it was...are these kids even going to school anymore?? Were they seniors? Will they graduate or is that just dumb to think...I think so many great characters have died and the main characters all hurt each other all the time...like I said just not sure where they can go from here..
okay, not to nitpick, cause I love this show and the last part of this episode was spectacular...but Bonnie doesn't really need to kill 12 people. Even if we pull out all the logical mass murders: the fire purge (farewell Anna and Mr. Lockwood, the group of humans turned vampires for Tyler to hunt (and hey, they each got 2 deaths) and go on the assumption that it has to be 12 people killed together as a means of accessing this brand of witchcraft, (maybe they hash tag it #12slaughter4emotionalism) Damon killed 12 people together way back when in New Orleans, for that blend of magic in hopes of breaking his sire bond with stone counting girl. And obviously the slaughters don't need to be aware of it. Neither the good reverend or Klaus added a #BringSilasBackToLife to the tag. And why did fake-silas even tell Bonnie they still had to kill 12 more, why not just go and do it himself, or manipulate someone with a bit fewer morals. No Bennet witch was involved in the other 2 slaughters-
Well Kayla Lewis Stefan still have his diaries meaning it's still Vampire Diaries. I feel sad for the xbox though Elena could have ask Matt to take useful things before burning the house down. It's no turning back now Elena's character will surely be moving forward which is why I am very excited for the next episode. Too bad have to wait 2 weeks.
elena will be the first vampire on the show to have there emotions turned off, damon always loved either elena or stefan even at the beginning. klaus luvs his family no matter how bad he seems. this will def be interesting
the episode came on last night and im still comprehending that jermeys dead, the house is gone, and so is her diary. i know the last part sounds crazy but i honestly missed her writing in her diary, i mean its called vampire DIARIES for a reason. i did love how elena was freaking out that was a every epic scene. i'm happy silus is in professer shady pants, he finally got what he deservied theres acually irony in that cause he believed in something so much and it ends up being his death. klaus better show up and stop wasting his time chasing tyler cause as hes doing so,his position being the guy every one fears is going to silus. all in all i think there will be this epic episode were bonnie brings the dead up and down the vielve cause she luvs jermey and the creators aren't that stupid.
Love this show
Overall a good episode but I have to note two things. First, as much as I like Jeremy, he has to stay dead. Otherwise why should everyone on the show be afraid of anything if they can never really die? And second, I'm a little concerned about the lack of actual humans on the show. I mean, there's Matt and that's it. It just lowers the stakes when no one is a simple human being.
OMG, Damon hugging Bonnie AND patting Stefan's shoulder? all in one episode? I never expected that but I'm kinda glad to see him care.. Damon all the way :D
aand, if they will follow book storyline, Damon could become human at the end of this season.. that would be huge, and it will piss off many fans INCLUDING ME. I will hate them if they do that to him.. But on the other hand, how will they break sire bond? stupid sire bond...
@Callisto, good point on your end also! Maybe no humanity means no sire bond? But that wouldn't be good.....the plan was to have Damon tell her to "turn it back on" when they think she could cope again... If there is not sire bond anymore...oh dear.
Either way, I HATE the sire bond thing. Totally ruins the tension of the triangle.
@Sonia, good point! So much for a cover story. Though, April is "in the know" so, as long as she doesn't blab "Hey, Jeremy Gilbert didn't die in a house fire, a 2,000 year old vampire killed him" all over town, I think that the story might still be safe...
This episode was great, but really sad. All of the actors did an amazing job, especially Nina. I really felt for Damon from the moment he was looking for Bonnie, you just knew he really didn't want to let Elena down by not showing up with Bonnie. Also, I liked the fact that he shut off Elena's humanity. It probably won't get him cool points with her later on down the road, but he did what needed to be done at the moment (it was obvious he couldn't stand seeing her in pain). Damon is never afraid to do the dirty work as long as it means protecting the ones he love and there was no exception in this episode. You can see that he loves Elena deeply, I just hope with her humanity being temporarily gone she doesn't hurt him. I have a feeling the writers may use this as a plot to have Elena toy with Stefan and Damon.
Nina Dobrev needs to be nominated/win a fucking golden globe for her performance week in and out. To bad she never will as the golden globes and the emmy's won't even blink at a show on the CW.
In any case thank god Elena's turned that pesky humanity off, now she's gonna be awesome! And I really hope she ditches those two clowns and does whatever the fuck she wants cause its time this girl live it up! For once Dumpling Plec is doing something right!
I'm glad Jeremy's dead.
I definitely think that Elena's lack of humanity can be a good thing. But, I almost feel like it will only be entertaining for a few weeks and then it will feel too much like the heart of the show is gone. Since Elena became a vampire, the writers have almost caused her to seem brainwashed. Instead of pointing out that this is just her true self magnified, they are acting like her vampire inside is the one who is ruling. I feel like she is not herself and her feelings for Damon are not real. I am disappointed in how dry her relationship with Damon has been ever since they got together. She had so much more passion with Stefan when she was a human and now she is supposed to be passionately in love with Damon with intensified feelings? I don't buy it. Now she is going to turn into Katherine part 2 and I anticipate that it will feel like we are watching a different show. Elena is the "humanity" in this show. She is the one we relate to as viewers because it is all from her perspective.. I
