The Walking Dead Promotes Trio of Stars for Season 4

by at . Comments

A trio of actors will join David Morrisey as series regulars on The Walking Dead Season 4.

AMC has announced that Chad L. Coleman (Tyreese), Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) and Emily Kinney (Beth) have all been promoted to full-time status for the fall, while Melissa Ponzio (Woodbury massacre survivor Karen) will recur.

Chad L. Coleman on The Walking Dead

Tyreese played a key role in the graphic series, while all of these roles will help fill the loss of many key players on The Walking Dead Season 3. Among them:

Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori), Michael Rooker (Merle) and Laurie Holden (Andrea).

The series is also casting for an actor in his 30s or early 40s to come on board as a formal army medic named Roy Stark.

oh well rick and michonne will get together they have some things in common. I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT CAROL SO I HOPE SHE GETS THE AXE. BUT THEY NEED TO KEEP HERSHEL!

Since Andrea was suppose to become Ricks girlfriend in the comics. I wonder if Karen would take the place of her instead. She did survive for a reason.

I wish they'd give Melissa McBride the same bump up. For 3 seasons now, she's been one of the best characters left on the show and I wish she'd be given the same treatment as the rest of the cast. She may be labeled as "also starring", but that doesn't really meet the same standard as it does in the opening credits.
Nevertheless, she's probably safer at that status as main characters tend to die more than regular characters, so I'm assuming that either Beth and/or Sasha get the axe in the season opener/first three episodes.
