Twisted Review: It's Time to Come Back

by at . Comments

Whoa! That's one one to describe my feeling after watching Twisted this week! The season finale did as promised and provided us with some major jaw dropping action, that's for certain.

The first half of "Out With the In-Crowd" was a little slow. We knew Lacey was going to face some fall-out after her hook up with Danny went viral, but I'm glad she turned things around the way she did.

Twisted Finale Scene

Danny was doing Lacey a huge favor when he selflessly helped her craft a comeback at Johnnycakes. Of course, if she showed everyone she was against Danny, people would probably side with her again. I guess I was just wondering why she would even want people on her side who don't support her? I'm looking at you, Serita.

Since when would Lacey want Archie back when he was a royal ass? Whether or not she planned to extract information from her, she did a good thing with that information. Archie is the one who poisoned Cole and Cole deserved to know the truth. When Lacey backed up Cole's assertion, she knew she'd be risking her shaky social status, but she realized she was okay with that.

On another point of the infamous Twisted love triangle, Jo went from anger to closure to bad decision regarding her relationship with Danny. Even though it sucked to hear, Jo confronting Danny with her feelings helped give her closure. She should have rushed into Tyler's bed after that rejection? Definitely not, but stuff happens.

Jo, trust me, the only way to get over someone is to throw yourself into something new. Otherwise you’ll never move on. | permalink

Tyler, I think you meant, "the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else." As much as I wanna like Tyler sometimes, something just doesn't sit right. Plus the rule of thriller/mystery entertainment is that if you lose your virginity to them, they might be the bad guy. You've all seen Scream right? Then Pretty Little Liars did it with Toby. Tyler would've zoomed back to the top of my suspect list if it weren't for the two major revelations in the second half of the episode.

FIRST, that shady private investigator from Connecticut knew Regina and apparently harmed her with a nasty bitch scratch. Who is she and what did she have to do with Regina? It seemed mighty convenient that they found the murder weapon right after her suggestion to re-drain the pond. Wouldn't they have found that pipe the first time if they were able to find a tiny necklace? She clearly wants to nail the murder on Danny.

Then we have the fact that VIKRAM IS ALIVE. Oh, and Tess knew. They totally still had an affair going and I wouldn't be surprised if Jo was Tess and Vikram's daughter. I wonder if that's what Tara was threatening to tell and that's why Danny killed her. Either way, I think Vikram had a LOT of lady lovers.

The season finale of Twisted left me with a lot of questions but it also left me wanting more! Weigh in with your own thoughts in the comments and we'll see you in January!

THIS SHOW IS SOOOOO GOOD & ADDICTIVE WAY BETTER THAN THE OVERRATED PLL

This episode was so intense! I was on the edge the entire time, literally.

Cont'd... framed Danny for the Regina murder but, after seeing how happy Danny makes Jo and what a good guy he is, she’s been trying to protect him from taking the fall by tipping Danny’s mom to developments in the case, trying to get the police to look at other angles, etc. She was totally shocked when the “murder weapon with Danny’s prints was discovered because she – the real killer – knows it shouldn’t exist. However, with these latest developments about the shady investigator lady and the fact that Tess and Vik are clearly still in cahoots I’ll need to rework my theory a bit…I still think some parts may be true though but I now suspect the mayor is somehow involved.

My feeling all season was that Jo actually killed Tara during some sort of rage blackout/psychotic episode upon overhearing Tara’s plan to expose the Vikram and her mom were having an affair and essentially destroy both Jo and Danny’s families. Jo repressed the memory and Danny, always the protector, felt the need to cover for Jo by taking the blame – after all, it was the actions of his aunt and dad that drove Jo to it so he felt some responsibility. I thought Vik suspected all along that his son was innocent and became increasingly frustrated at his son’s refusal to clear his own name so, suspecting Lacy or Jo was the real killer, he hired Regina to do some digging and stir the pot by wearing Tara’s necklace, etc. Knowing or strongly suspecting her daughter was the real killer and not wanting it exposed, Tess killed Vikram (or at least tried to kill him…I always suspected he’d be back since they never found a body) and Regina to keep the whole things other wraps and framed Danny for the Regina murder but, after seeing how happy Danny makes Jo and what a good guy he is, she’s been trying to protect him from taking the fall by tipping Danny’s mom to developments in the case, trying to get the police to look at other angles, etc.

The mystery elements were great in this episode. I just wish so much time hadn't been given to Jo nursing her hurt feelings when Danny is dealing with expulsion and being a murder suspect; and Lacey is dealing with being ostracized and slut-shamed -- much more traumatic and compelling issues that deserved greater screen time to explore. Still, we got character defining moments for Jo (sleeping with the enemy?) and Lacey (standing up to her friends once she has solid evidence). Looking forward to January.

Oh and Jo should now sympathize with Danny not feeling the same for her WHEN she does not feel the same for Rico!

I just saw the episode online! It was so good! I also was excited to see that the show is back in January.
I knew that Archie set up Dannie and poisoned Cole!
I am glad that Phoebe came over to see Lacey, she will help Lacey with the revelation of the car and she is the one friend Lacey has at this moment.
I knew the cop was bad!
So is Tess in on all this? She is the only one who knows Vikram is alive.
Can not wait until January.

This was a summer finale, go to the ABC Family site and you will see it says coming this January. Like Bunheads and PLL they have a fall finale (not season finale) then take a break and come back in the winter to finish off the season! I wish you would stop referring to it is a season finale.

Jo can't be Tess and Vikram's daughter. If she were, she would be dark like Danny. His mother is just as blonde as Tess.

Good but doesn't make up for a lacklustre (half) season.

Twisted Season 1 Episode 11 Quotes

Yeah let's look forward, cause when you look back that's when you trip over stuff that's like in front of you.

Rico

Me? I'm great. No one will get within 10 feet of me, my friends are freezing me out. It's fine.
