Dexter Finale Scores Record Ratings for Showtime

The end results may not have been popular with viewers, but the episode itself scored off the charts.

The disappointing Dexter finale garnered 2.8 million viewers for its first showing last night. That's an increase of 13 percent from the Season 8 premiere and it marks the most-watched episode of an original series in Showtime history.

Elsewhere, Ray Donovan benefited from its lead-in by scoring 2.1 million viewers, while Devious Maids concluded its first season with a series high of 3 million and Breaking Bad set another AMC record: 6.6 million households tuned in for this epic drama's penultimate episode.
