Castle Creator Discusses Deleted Scene, Series End Date and More

Castle creator Andrew Marlowe has cleared the air.

After showing a 15-second scene that was deleted from the end of Castle Season 4, Episode 23 - that included Rick removing Kate's shirt and lowering her into bed - at the recent Austin Film Festival, fans who weren't lucky enough to be at this event went wild.

The scene was shown as a teaching tool in a class about using editing to craft a better story.

Unfortunately, most Castle followers didn't care much for the lesson and let their voices be heard, not always in polite fashion.

They demanded to know why the scene didn't make the final cut and when they'll be able to view it.

In a recent interview, Marlowe said he wouldn't be surprised if faithful fans eventually got there wish…but they may have to wait awhile. Like, say, for the eventual Castle Complete Series DVD Collection?

“If there’s enough demand with the folks at ABC," definitely, he said.

Speaking of the complete series, if ABC grants the show a seventh season, will that be the end? The Internet grew abuzz over this possibility after some comments Marlowe made.

“What I said is that there’s an organic ending in the show and the characters will tell me when that is," he said. "I listen to the characters, and there’s going to be a point where we’ve had the best storytelling that these characters can give us.”

And when does he think that will be?

The story of Rick Castle and Kate Beckett “can take 10 to 12 years if everybody wants to," he said.

What do you think, TV Fanatics? Are you in for a Castle Season 12?!?

I need time to stop being mad and you need time to figure out a way to be OK with this.
