Abby was actually in a decent mood to kick off Dance Moms Season 4 Episode 12.

She was happy about the team's win last week and, naturally, taking credit for Kendall's technique.

On the pyramid, Nia was at the bottom with Mackenzie and Payton (the latter of whom Abby blasted as a “baby,”) while Chloe and Maddie are in row two and Kendall gets to enjoy life on top.

We’re off to World-Class Talent in Rockville, Maryland for the latest competition, with Payton taking the lead in a salute to Broadway’s Kinky Boots.

During rehearsal, the moms are displeased with the group routine, while Maddie is peeved that Mackenzie os using one of her old costumes. Abby tells us that Mackenzie needs to channel her "inner Maddie."

In Maryland, each soloist looks concerned. Abby asks Mackenzie to show her the Maddie face and Jill think Abby should stop comparing the sisters (what a novel idea!). Christi encourages Mackenzie to be herself, while mom Melissa remains silent.

Following solid performances all around (Maddie can really tap dance), the parents are satisfied but Abby comes in and says Mackenzie will never be Maddie.

The group dance goes okay, though the Twerking appears to confuse the judges.

Awards time! Chloe is third, Mackenzie second and Maddie, as usual, first. The only thing more reliable than her finish each week is Abby acting like a terrible human being.
