Jennifer Love Hewitt on Criminal Minds: First Look!

by at . Comments

As previously announced, Jennifer Love Hewitt will join the cast of Criminal Minds this fall as a series regular.

The former Ghost Whisperer and Client List star will come on board as an eight-year FBI agent named Kate Callahan.

And TV Guide has your first look at this actress in the role!

JLH on Criminal Minds

"Kate is smart, charming, and wise for her years," executive producer Erica Messer teases. "Her background is criminal psychology and her passion comes from wanting to make the world a safe place.

"She's had a lot of personal loss that makes her a patriot and a nurturing figure to those in her personal and work families."

Look for Callahan to be old friends with members of the BAU team.

Criminal Minds Season 10 kicks off on October 1.

I read on another site that they have exciting things planned for Kate. I just hope they don't highlight Hewitt as if it's her show. I don't find her presence particularly compelling -- irritating, yes.

I LOVE JLOVE. I started watching Criminal Minds because she joined. She's beautiful, real and easy to relate to -- what's not to love?

I'm not seein' it. It may make me just watch reruns and nix the season. 0 for 0 for the network.

Not really -- I rather see it as using my time constructively.

I think they should've gotten an unknown.

Something just doesn't click with Hewitt. Maybe her character seems too familiar with the old timers. I actually didn't like that little one on one she had w/Garcia about the animals. It seemed contrived. The episode seemed awkward bringing on someone who many have seen on other shows. It was as if we know JLH and the team doesn't. It seems to take away from audience discovery.

Not sure at all about Jennifer Love Hewitt. Jeanne Trepplehorn was a huge casting mistake and I can't help but think Jennifer's another mistake. I greatly miss Emily.

I like Emily more

I'm really excited to see Jennifer join Criminal Minds. She is a great actress. She is going to make a great addition to the team!!

Erica Messer is killing Criminal MInds with all her Bad choices. If it wasnt For the staff, the actors and actresses (the originals, of course) the show will be a total mess. JLH is the final crap to this mess. Believe me

Jennifer will be the reason I stop watching Criminal Minds. She's the worst. Ghost chasing is her calling not the BAU

I'll reserve judgement for the air date, if anything it would give viewers a chance to see how the rest of the team interacts with her, keep in mind this is a character we've never seen before and if the team already knows her it would be interesting to see how morgan is around her or how reid or hotch is with her.

Can't wait

Criminal Minds Quotes

Reid: Huh.
Morgan: What? You see something?
Reid: Encryption's a highly specialized skill set but it's fundamentally a mathematical process, which means the human process sometimes through technique can reveal where you learned it. I think I know where he learned how to do this.
Kate: Where?
Reid: Harvard. Which oddly enough isn't known for its advanced math program but it is known for one particular class. When you're good at math - good enough to get into Harvard - you take a math class called "Math 15". When you're better than that you take "Math 25", but when you're the best, the absolute best, you take "Math 55": Honors Advanced Calculus and Linear Algebra. Graduates are immediately employed by the U.S. Government because they're too dangerous to work anywhere else. More specifically, they're employed at the NSA.
