Forever Season 1 Episode 6 Review: The Frustrating Thing About Psychopaths

Adam!

On Forever Season 1 Episode 6, Adam played a much bigger role than previous episodes. The episode focused on some killings that resemble the way Jack The Ripper carried out his evil deeds, many moons ago.

It was excellent to have Adam back this week. We've still not seen him, but we know he has lived for longer than Henry; ten times as long. He was very involved in this weeks case. When he called Henry at the crime scene, I actually thought we might get a glimpse of him. We didn't, but he did help Henry in the end, when the killer stabbed him.

The episode was pretty gruesome as anyone could imagine. Victims were turning up. left, right and center, with the same mysterious symbols engraved onto them.

The twist in the story -- that the first person hauled in was actually a writer -- was well thought out. He didn't do himself any favors by running from Henry and Jo, but the justification was there when he explained about the rabid fan base for his comics. Everyone seems to be obsessed with it and they communicate online, as though they are part of a cult.

I hate to sound all silence of the lambs here, but she's got something in her mouth.

Lucas

I enjoyed Lucas' role in the story this week. His help seemed like an organic, key component of the story. He sure seemed like a guy who would be into comics and he defended then against every objection. His one liners in were witty. I only hope his presence in the next episodes are as relevant.

Now, that's what i'm talking about.

The scene in which the police invade Devin's family home was all sorts of creepy. When Jo was questioning him at the station, he appeared as though he was a lot older, because of all the BS his mouth was spouting. It was only natural that his parents would be adamant that he is innocent. I did have a feeling his dad was the killer. Heck, I never even ruled out his mother!

How tense was it when Jo was in the building, as Henry lay dying? I genuinely can't believe she shot the killer so soon, but she had to act fast. She never really thought about it until afterwards. She seems like she could be spiraling downhill in the aftermath of this.

Abe, as usual, helped with the case. He stole from an old friend and I found their conversation hilarious. It seems like the two had a romance in the past. The woman was hinting for them to have dinner and hook up. The man is in his 70s and he's still popular with ladies.

With everything said and done, the episode was another solid one. It had all the ingredients of what we've come to love about the show. It will be interesting to see if Jo melts down. I can't wait to see Adam. I really think it is someone we've already seen now, even if only as an extra.
