Hawaii Five-0 Season 5 Episode 12 Review: Not Forgotten

at .  Updated at .

On Hawaii Five-0 Season 5 Episode 12 we were given three amazing, pulse-pounding scenes in the first ten minutes, not to mention –  Danno is back!

After those first scenes, my heart didn't slow down the entire episode, nor does the violence. So, let us start from the beginning. Kelly and Grover have an intense and emotional heart to heart about Grover's daughter.

Death of a Neurosurgeon - Hawaii Five-0

What a way to start a Friday night!!

Next, the neurosurgeon, Christine Dupont, is shot in the parking lot of the hospital as she is going to operate on a patient.

Just after that we are graced with a scene between Steve and Grace, during which he is helping her train for her physical exam.

Grace: Thanks for helping me Uncle Steve. Danno says the only thing he hates more than swimming is running.
Steve: Don't worry about Danno, you know it scares me to think what that guy is gonna look like when he is a 50-year-old man.

Like dominoes being tipped over, this case really starts to unfold. A prominent doctor is shot. Why? By the discovery of another death, the team is led to the question of why kill a man that has less than a week to live? What is it the doctor knows that led to her death and the death of one of her previous patients?

The team is led to a reform school that was operating 30 years ago, from there the case becomes even more serious. When the nearly 40-year-old bodies are uncovered on the site of the old reform school, the atrocities of the past really become apparent.

Imagining the horror that those children went through before they died, the fact that it only came to the surface by the confession of a life long convict is powerful. Not to mention the horrifying death of the innocent doctor. The story was well written. Seriously, bravo Hawaii Five-0.

After the case is wrapped up, activities are still rolling. Throughout the hour, Steve is trying to track down the thief who stole his car.

Steve: Don't trivialize my suffering.
Danny: What? I am gauging the damage to that piece of junk car.

The whole time I expect Steve's about to use his extra rights as a cop to track down the thief and bring down the full sentence on him, until Steve notices he's a young homeless kid down on his luck.

We always get to see the good guy, hero side of Steve when he is catching bad guys, but this time we get to see Steve's more compassionate, sensitive side when it comes to crime. It was amazing.

Also amazing are the scenes between Danno and Steve. So amazing, it's hard to choose a favorite. It all comes down to completion with an amazing couple of scenes. The team was having lunch at Kamekono's shrimp stand where, thanks to Steve, the kid who stole his car is working when Grover has the much needed conversation he needed to have with his daughter.

I want to give this episode six out of five stars for how much I loved it. What did you think of the case this week? What was your favorite scene? Did you expect everything that happened? Sound off on the comments below!

Hawaii Five-0 Season 5 Episode 12 Quotes

Grace: Thanks for helping me Uncle Steve. Danno says the only thing he hates more than swimming is running.
Steve: Don't worry about Danno, you know it scares me to think what that guy is gonna look like when he is a 50-year-old man.

It is killing me. I feel utterly helpless. Every night I pray to God to take this thing off her and put it on me, because I can handle it. This is my little girl, she shouldn't have to carry this.
