The Vampire Diaries Round Table: Shot Through The Heart

Elena was once again playing the victim this week, as she found herself kidnapped by everyone's favorite sociopath on The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 11.

Below, join Heather Vee, Miranda Wicker, Leigh Raines as we discuss the best way to escape Kai, magic camps and the future of Steroline...

What was your favorite quote or scene from The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 11?

Heather: I burst out laughing at Damon's line over the phone: "Let me guess, Jeremy's holding a crossbow." Classic Vampire Diaries. And the slow-motion, emotional car wreck of Caroline talking to the cancer patient before she fed him his blood. Oh, my heart.

Miranda: Since I'm legit loving Kai and the menacing Big Bad he is, I really loved his scenes with Elena, particularly the one where he slowly cut her cheek just to see if he could control his magic. But what I loved most of all was her decision to light her own hand on fire in order to get away from Kai. Still not sure how he (or the room) survived that blast, but A+ for Elena. Clearly she was paying attention in chemistry on the 5 days a year she was in school.

Leigh: Agree with Heather, that was a GREAT line. It was good to see Alaric and Jer swoop in to save everyone from Kai at the high school. Also that thing that Elena did when she pretended to get shot was so stupid, but also gave her a sense of humor for two minutes which was a nice surprise.

More fun: Hogwarts of Salvatore Mansion Magic Camp?

Heather: Does it get more fun than Liv as a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher? C'mon now.

Miranda: No, Heather. No, it does not.

Leigh: Well the Salvatores have booze so they've got me.

Does Jo have any shot at defeating Kai?

Heather: Yes, because she cares about her family and friends. She has something to lose. That cliche about someone having nothing left to lose and therefore being more dangerous? I think that's crap. Jo, Liv and Luke as a united front can take on Kai, even if that burden ultimately rests with Jo alone.

Miranda: In their present states, no, probably not. But in the long run, yes, she does. At her core, she's the selfless kind of person who dedicates her life to saving others, which is part of the reason she became a doctor, even if she doesn't realize herself. Jo might die in the attempt, but she will defeat Kai.

Leigh: It obviously doesn't look very good right now, but I have to hold out hope that she will build her strength over the next few episodes. I also hold out hope that the writers won't kill off another one of Alaric's girlfriends.

What's going to happen to Liz?

Heather: Oh, you know, she and Caroline will continue to make me cry as they go through this awful time. This relationship is my Kryptonite.

Miranda: As much as it's a cliche and trite "out" for people who might die on this show, couldn't they just...turn her into a vampire? I guess we'll see what happens to the guy in the hospital, but isn't that the solution here? Assuming Liz wants it, that is, which I don't think she does. So my guess is that Liz will die. And I will drown on my own tears.

Leigh: Unfortunately I think Liz is not going to make it. They will give it the old college try when it comes to saving her, but in the end it won't work. I do, however, think he death will be a catalyst in other storylines. I think it will push Stefan and Caroline closer together and will push Matt to take a larger stance in protecting Mystic Falls. Sheriff Donovan, anyone?

What can we expect from the Sarah Salvatore storyline?

Heather: I don't know, and I'm not sure I care, at least not yet? I'm so over Enzo's obsession with Stefan and Sarah.

Miranda: Yeah, like Heather, I'm not sure I care just yet. I can't imagine what good can come of bringing another human into the mix right now. While I don't get Enzo's obsession, at least it gives him a reason to be on the screen. I'll take that, even if I would prefer his role being sidling up to Caroline, which brings us to the next question.

Leigh: Agree with the gals that I definitely don't care. I do think it will be brought to Damon's attention at some point along with some major guilt.

Are Stefan and Caroline headed to hook up or just a friendship back on track?

Heather: I'm not sure, and I don't think it matters. I love how the writers are taking their time with this relationship and really making sure it makes sense and is truly earned.

Miranda: Headed for a hook-up, and I don't like it. It's not that I want Caroline with Klaus, or Stefan with Elena, but not all friendships progress to something more, which is where I see this one going.

Leigh: Whatever it is, I hope it is genuine and well done. For now I hope a friendship, but we shall see.
