The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5 Episode 17 Review: Amster-Damn Slap

at .  Updated at .

In case I haven’t mentioned it previously, Eileen Davidson is the best thing to hit this show in a long time and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5 Episode 17 is the perfect example.

Come join us as we recap all of the apologies and basic insanity on our +/- review...

After looking as though they were going to literally strangle one another a day earlier, Kim Richards and Lisa Rinna decided to go shopping. I’m with Eileen Davidson on this one. WTF?!? Or as she more eloquently put it in this The Real Housewives of Bevelry Hills quote

One moment Kim was slandering Lisa Rinna’s husband, the next they were looking at shoes and joking over sex toys. Minus 43 because no sane mind can make sense of it.

A Riverboat Dinner - The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

At least the sex shop got a laugh out of Lisa Vanderpump so plus 10 for that but did Kim Richards seem just a little too excited by those toys? Reminded me of the time she brought her lipstick vibrator to a party.

Yolanda decided to skip the craziness and stay in bed for the day. Plus 22 because just watching all of this was kind of exhausting. I couldn't imagine living through it.

Lisa Rinna was so determined to just move on but I had to agree with Eileen…

The behavior was heinous and to just say that we're going to move on because I don't want to ruffle any more feathers is just a f**kin bunch of B.S.

Thank goodness someone has the balls to stand up and speak the truth. Of course I’m not so sure that waiting until they were on a small riverboat was the best place to bring it up. Minus 13. I kept wondering if someone was going to end up going overboard.

The best part of this conversation was that Eileen owned everything she’d said in the past and remembered events clearly. Plus 47. This is what’s possible when you’re not drinking heavily or popping pills. No wonder we don’t see this kind of coherent recall often.

And I refuse to believe that no one has ever called Brandi Glanville a mean drunk before. That just doesn’t seem possible.

The frustrating part was that just when you thought they were getting somewhere, the conversation would just circle around again. Kim took no responsibility for anything and Brandi managed to jokingly insult Eileen once again by calling her a home wrecker. Minus 35.

I really couldn’t blame Yolanda when she walked away and decided to try and eat her dinner in peace and Eileen followed.

The let’s all say something positive about one another game was sweet but was total fluff, much like Brandi’s superficial comments about all of the women. Minus 15.

But the scariest was Lisa Rinna as she gushed about loving Kim. Seriously, this is the woman who tore you apart a day ago and threatened to expose some supposedly horrible secret about your husband and now you love her? Minus 43. Where did that come from?

The slap at the end was overhyped and underplayed. Brandi had once again had too much to drink and was playing a bad joke meant to incite a response. As Yolanda pointed out, Brandi needs to learn boundaries but the truth is she knows where the line is, she chooses to cross it to get a reaction. And once she gets it she’ll whine and cry and yell if it’s not the reaction for which she hoped.

Looks like the crying comes next week.  I only hope that Eileen is there to tell her off.

Episode total = -70! Season total = -447!

It's like I've walked into an insane asylum with these women in really nice shoes and purses.
