Shonda Rhimes Addresses Grey's Anatomy Critics: What Did She Say?

at .

We may be weeks removed from the death of Derek Shepherd on Grey's Anatomy Season 11, but many fans of this ABC drama still aren't over the stunning development.

They're angry over the way Derek was killed off. They're angry over the way the show then jumped ahead a year. And they've been peppering Shonda Rhimes' Twitter account with their aggrieved thoughts.

Finally sick of all the vitriol spewed her way online, the show's producer has sent a message to her growing number of critics.

"Do not waste your valuable time tweeting me, boo,” Rhimes Tweeted yesterday. “Go and do something fun that brings u joy!"

It may take awhile for the rancor to die down, however.

Even though Patrick Dempsey clearly wanted off the series, and even though his character is very much dead, a Change.org petition to reinstate Dempsey has garnered more than 100,000 signatures.

Following Grey's Anatomy Season 11 Episode 24, though, a finale that featured Derek's final voicemail to Meredith, it's clear the show is set to move on from McDreamy's McDeath.

There was no mention of it during ABC’s May 12 presentation to advertisers in New York, as Ellen Pompeo took the Upfront stage to announce she “couldn’t be more excited to tell stories” in season 12.
