Pretty Little Liars Season 6 Episode 5 Review: She's No Angel

Will the liars ever stop pointing the finger, before getting confirmation about things?

Pretty Little Liars Season 6 Episode 5 threw all the blame on to Lesley. Yes, Mona's crazy friend who has been in a handful of episodes. It all started with the argument in the brew.

You could have cut the tension between her and Mona and Hanna with a knife. The argument between the three girls was hilarious, but Lesley's rude remarks were just plain nasty.

The reveal that Lesley was in Radley wasn't all that shocking. We had to find out the reason she and Mona became friends to begin with and it makes sense. The thing that did shock me was that she was Bethany Young's room mate.

I loved how the liars thought logically about why she could be after them and didn't just lay dumb like they normally do. What remains to be seen is just what Lesley is capable of. I don't doubt she will go to desperate measures to get a final revenge.

Spencer's opening scene in Radley was creepy, to say the least. I think we all knew it was her pot fueled mind playing tricks on her. Although the show has veered on the supernatural side before, this would just be another jump the shark type moment.

We'll never know that. Radley doesn't print out a year book.

Hanna

Mona seems to be wanting to do her best to make amends with people and that's why she set out to remove Lesley's records. Knowing Mona, she will have some sort of ulterior motive for all of this and could be working with A.

Hanna: What the hell Mona?
Spencer: Have you been down there the whole time? Was that you? Answer us!

I don't get why the girls were shocked when they realized that A could be a girl. You'd expect that, given how long this gone on for, they'd have flirted with all possible outcomes, so this is a hard pill for me to swallow.

It was interesting to get to see Aria checking out the rolls of film. The chances of her finding something solid was very slim, so the fact we got a little closer to the truth made this episode a must watch.

I don't know what will happen between her and Clarke, but he doesn't appear to have her best interests at heart. There has to be a reason he is constantly taking pictures of her and it won't be an innocent one.

Alison and Lorenzo's romance seems to be going smoothly, but if Kenneth has anything to do with it, it won't last very long. He seems to think everyone is out to get his daughter, but this just isn't the case anymore. Maybe last season, but now everyone is slowly, but surely realizing that Alison DiLaurentis isn't this big bad wolf we've been led to believe she is, so this romance plot for her is interesting as it peels back more layers on her character we thought we'd never see.

Another thing - Sara's reaction to the text from Aria she rudely read from Emily's cell. She looked like she was about to scream and trash the tattoo parlor. She won't be getting ruled out of any theory until the show is over for good. There is just way too much that isn't adding up with her.

"She's No Angel" was a solid affair. It started off slowly, but got more interesting as the hour came to an end.

Other tidbits from the episode:

  • The fact the Spencer is back on drugs is just boring. Sure, she thinks she can't cope, but we all know she can. This is a tedious storyline. The only thing semi interesting about it was that it paved the way for the return of Nathaniel Buzolic.
  • Were Hanna's one liners on point this week, or was it just me? The comment about Spencer texting her the answer made me laugh out loud.
  • I'm coming to the realization that these girls won't ever be able to stop telling lies. It has become compulsive. Just look at the way Aria lied to Clarke. She didn't think twice about it.
  • Did anyone else think that Mona was Jenna? Please don't say the show is now planting seeds to claim they are both twins now!
