From Dusk Till Dawn Q&A: Jeff Fahey on Uncle Eddie, His Reunion with the Geckos

"Eyes see eyes" was the first tidbit of Uncle Eddie wisdom that we heard back in From Dusk Till Dawn Season 1.

He's a character we've heard a lot about from Seth and Richie, but we haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet.

This Tuesday, on From Dusk Till Dawn Season 2 Episode 3, we finally get to meet Uncle Eddie. Jeff Fahey spoke with press on a conference call, and was happy to talk about this role.

As far as what drew him to this particular project, Fahey simply said, "Anytime Robert calls, I'll show up."

Uncle Eddie

Fahey described Uncle Eddie as a man that "has his own code of conduct and values, and he has a certain criminal ideology, a code of conduct, which doesn’t involve, I would say it's more of the planning and pulling off heists. I’d say it's safe to say that Eddie doesn't believe in hurting people. He's a thief. He believes in taking things, taking money."

As far as Eddie’s connection to Richie and Seth, he's more than just their Uncle. Fahey shared this about the relationship between Uncle Eddie and the boys, "I think it's very safe to say that Uncle Eddie is pretty much the mentor of Seth and Richie."

Fahey believes that Eddie's impact on the boys is evident. "You can see the elements of Eddie within each of the brothers, and that's why he feels, between the two of them, one with the planning and one with the guts, between Richie and Seth, they make the perfect team."

When asked why the boys turn to Eddie for help, Fahey wouldn't give away too much, but he said, "It's safe to say that the guys are scattered. They've got their problems between themselves, and it looks like they are headed back to home base to regroup, and whether they are aware of it or not, to come back and get some of that good old advice and guidance from their mentor."

As Zane Holtz mentioned in an earlier interview, Uncle Eddie isn't aware that the brothers aren't together. I asked Fahey about Eddie's opinion on the matter, and he replied, "I think it’s a mixed emotion that inside he's happy and very thrilled to them, to see that they're alive, but I think, as I said, Uncle Eddie is sad when they’re not together because he believes they are the ultimate team."

Whenever all three of them meet up, it looks like we are in for a lot of fun. As Fahey put it, "What’s wonderful is each one of those, Seth and Richie, and Eddie for that matter, they all dance to the beat of their own drummer, but within that world they are all thieves, and so when you mix those three elements together, you're going to come up with a bit of rock and roll."
