Scandal Round Table: White Hat's Totally Off!

at .

Did Olivia Pope become (more like) her father on Scandal Season 5 Episode 7?

We watched as the fallout from letting him out of prison began, and yeah, it seems like Olivia's moving to the dark side. Her white hat is dirty.

Join Christine Orlando, Whitney Evans, and Miranda Wicker as we debate whether the Devils of Scandal deserve second chances and more below!

What was your favorite quote or scene from "Even the Devil Deserves a Second Chance?"

Christine:  I loved Jake telling Olivia off. She can’t wear the white hat and let a mass murderer out of prison just so she doesn’t have to marry her boyfriend and give up her career. I like Olivia but both Jake and Cyrus were right. She can be selfish and she enjoys wielding her own power. It was good to hear her called out on it.

Whitney: "Frank has got to go." Scandal does a pretty good job with the ripped from the headlines stories and I thought they did this one well.

Miranda: Oh man, Olivia and Jake and the drama between them was intense, and I don't mean that at all in a romantic way. He is legitimately and justifiably pissed off with her and, quite frankly, she deserves it.

Least favorite?

Christine: David and Liz North. Ew.  Just ew.

Whitney: I agree with Christine. I think I covered my eyes at one point because I just couldn't watch anymore.

Miranda: Yeah...David and Liz was super weird. Super.

Were you shocked by how quickly Fitz was over Olivia not wanting to marry him?

Christine: No, because I don’t think he really wanted to marry her right now either. He’s got what he wants: Mellie’s out and Olivia is in his bed whenever he wants. Life is pretty good for Fitz right now.

Whitney: If he really wanted to marry Olivia, then I think he could have come up with a more thoughtful proposal last week. Fitz is right where he wants to be right now, so he really doesn't have a reason to be mad at anyone. Yet.

Miranda: I expected there would be some kind of discussion about how she just left him hanging in the Oval, but no. It was a little weird to me that there wasn't at least a chat.

Better match for David Rosen: Liz North or Susan Ross?

Christine: Oh god, neither! Liz had no heart and Susan is nice but too goofy. I want David and Abby back together. They had the perfect combination of chemistry and friendship.

Whitney: I think Susan Ross is a good person, like David pointed out, and good people deserve love too! I just really can't stand Liz 99% of the time, so she doesn't deserve David!

Miranda: I'm definitely waiting for the day when David and Abby get together. Susan and her wine coolers and Liz and her "I'm not wearing any panties and I hate you let's have sex now" are both so weird.

Has Olivia become her father?

Christine: Not completely. She hasn’t killed a bus load of people but her best friend did. She also let the guy who ordered that hit, as well as the death of the Fitz and Mellie’s son, out of prison so perhaps she’s well on her way.

Whitney: She on her way for sure. She's looking out for her own best interest, regardless of how her actions may affect others and that's Rowan to a tee.

Miranda: She's shown more than once that she'll sacrifice others for personal gain, but she calls it making hard choices. Olivia is definitely her father's daughter.

Will Fitz find out about Olivia's involvement in Rowan's escape on Scandal Season 5 Episode 8? We'll find out this week! Don't forget you can watch Scandal online right here at TV Fanatic!
