Scorpion Season 2 Episode 9 Review: US vs. UN vs. UK

Team Scorpion put on a damn good show.

On Scorpion Season 2 Episode 9, Team Scorpion showed off their surprisingly decent acting skills. There were so many great things about this case even before the twist set in. For one, it was another fun, wacky case.

Even though it had the very severe goal of killing someone, it featured Team Scorpion having to get creative. It was an unconventional materials case (shout out to all my fellow Project Runway fans out there).

One of the best things about Scorpion is when the team does crazy, strange things like making Paige pregnant in order to carry fake hands. This is the kind of case I like to see, and the craziness and levity was what was missing during Scorpion Season 2 Episode 8

Then there was the crazy twist that Gleason never actually died. It was all a rouse. This kind of insanity worked because, well, it's Scorpion and Gleason was MI6. It would have been a little off if the case involved a local police agent in Gleason's shoes or even just a federal agent. Do you get what I mean?

We were constantly being told how fancy and badass MI6 is, and they've got the mystic going for them. Gleason already proved he could play whatever part he wanted. He was a linguist, and then turned into a badass assassin. Why couldn't he be able to fake his own death?

This twist actually made me very happy because I was yelling at him for being so stupid by firing through the cracked elevator door. That was a horrible move, but at least it was all part of the plan.

MI6 is trained to be unreadable. It's like the CIA but with crumpets.

Toby

One last bit of happiness before I start writing about Megan and most likely crying - one of my favorite parts of this episode was Toby calling Ray to help translate. The whole scene of Ray trying to translate via a smartphone while Toby just rambled was hilarious. As far as stall tactics go, it is probably one of my favorites.

Megan and Sylvester are married!!!

It's really not surprising that Ray is a minister and that he would think that Band-Aids would be a good substitute for rings. It goes with the hospital theme, I guess, but still...anything else would have been better.

While it was shocking that they tied the knot, it would have been great to have a sweet romantic moment between Megan and Sylvester. The closest we have gotten recently was Megan being absolutely heartbreaking when she begged Sylvester to never let her be intubated again. Like I said, we haven't really had any happy romance with them recently.

Megan deserved a moment of happiness that we could all bask in where she could maybe forget the world around her for a minute. It could have been an adorable scene, and hello, I want to hear their vows! Even if it was just Megan, Sylvester, and Ray, I would have still preferred to see the wedding.

Alright, seriously, no one else yelled at Walter for what he did to Megan? Sly being upset made sense. We never saw Megan's reaction. She had to have been ridiculously upset, and we didn't see a trace of that, maybe because every time Walter was there visiting her, she was asleep.

Someone else should have tried to make Walter see that what he did was wrong.

Walter, doing what she wants isn't failing her.

Sylvester

Paige has been trying to get Walter to open up and face the fact that Megan could die, and it she would have something to say about Walter's disregard for Megan's wishes. Team Scorpion should have all had some say. Toby could have thrown some psychology in the mix. Cabe certainly would have had an opinion. Did this bother anyone else?

At least Walter finally had a moment with Megan...when she was asleep. Okay, but I'll take what I can get at this point. Walter has been running around trying to save Megan that he never actually spent any time with her. His little speech to her was cute, and it highlighted the fact that Walter does really care for his sister. We needed to see this, and we need to see more if it.

What did you think of the episode? What was your favorite part of the case? Would you have liked to have seen Megan and Sylvester say I do? Leave your thoughts in a comment below. Remember you can watch Scorpion online anytime via TV Fanatic.

Are you heading to England for a spot of tea?

Toby

Paige: Ralph doesn't care about gym.
Toby: All boys care about gym. It's Lord of the Flies in there, and getting picked last is painful.
